I don't believe in ghosts, but can you explain my experience to me please?

i cook in a nursing and rehab home. a lot of people die there. but my point is that i was working the other night and cooking for the dinner crowd. i was chopping onions. there are some pretty strong noises coming from the grease vents, convection oven and steamer, but those are noises you get used to. so while i'm busy i start to hear two women have a conversation on my left. it was like someone trying to train or explain something to the other and the other might have had a question. i looked over to the 5 ft. away from me area and no one was there. while the voices were muffled and clear enough i didn't pay attention to the dialogue at the time. i was in a zone and thought that they voices were coming from somewhere else. but there's nothing beyond that wall. i went into the dining room to see if the sound carried and no one was there. the doors were closed 30 feet away. i went outside to make sure no one was outside. i usually have an aide working with me but he was on break. luckily he came back within a few seconds. i asked him if he was talking to someone outside. he said no.

i don't believe in the paranormal or ghosts. but that's the one place they'd be. but it's not like the ghost in question is a resident that would have died. while there could be other explanations, i know what i heard. i even heard them talking a second time later. do you think i heard a ghost? i'm incredibly freaked out

I, unlike you do believe because I saw what was the shadow of my sister a couple weeks after she was killed in a car crash. There is zero doubt in my mind that there is more to this world that can’t be explained. An afterlife, spirits, or ghosts…. Whatever you call it when you are done here you are not done. You are transformed. Einstein said "Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another.". We are energy. Where does our energy go if it can’t die with us? I believe the energy of the many who past away in that building where you work is still there. I also believe unlike horror movies this isn’t something that will harm you.

my coworker says that too but he hears voices in his head regardless. i just never thought of ghosts as friendly

My sister didn’t speak when I saw her. But I have no reason to believe that their energy or ghost if you prefer…. Would be any different than it was when they were alive.

If there are metal vents and fans, they can actually pick up radio signals occasionally. Check if there’s a transmission tower or a booster for the nursing home near by. Could’ve also been people talking near the outlets of the vents.

Could also be hallucinations. Imagination etc.

Not necessarily. Someone might’ve installed an amplifier somewhere or it was just unusual good conditions that day. But there are other possible explanations too.

You wouldn’t rule in ghosts unless you had an extraordinarily strong case for it. Start with the simple explanations first. It’s likely to be one of those.

Is the sound travelling along a pipe or something from another room? Also if there's a lot of moisture in the air sound can travel very long distances, there's a pub across a river here over a km wide and at night you can here people talking.

i have a very scientific mind, so i've thought of that. also i have a lot of noise in the room, so i thought of white noise. the voices were so almost clear that they could be distinguished. there was no way it wasn't voices. and i heard it like it was coming through a wall and there's nothing on the other side of the that wall

i really dug into that possibility. i have signs of relatives with this, but i don't show any signs yet. i thought this could be the first? but in the instance that it happened i said to myself. is this in your head, or can you actually hear it? i could actually hear these two women talking

For some it is active, for some it is not. So not everyone will be able to hear those voices as you.

i'm glad i hear them, but i also don't want to because it's new and it's scared me.

if this was an investigation it would be different. instead it's something i live with. i can't live with this.
