Why isn’t there a consensus on God?

Talk to 1 BILLION people and you will get 1 BILLION different versions of God. Each with different powers and beliefs.

If there was actually a god…wouldn’t He have us agree on the who/what/where/how? If not everyone, even individual religions don’t agree on their god. They all believe different crap about it.

Most fantasy stories have some things in common. doesn't mean lord of the rings and Harry potter are the same story because there is magic, a steretypical good guy in white robes who is dead and somehow not and a good guy who somehow is the only hope for this world.(which isn't exactly true for Harry potter because of Neville Longbottom)

Now lump in the philisophical complexities of a God and you'll get even more diversity in your answers.
