Recently I caught my boyfriend calling and texting a woman of his caste and I'm not of his caste. He told me he was frustrated with me that's why he went behind my back despite us patching up post 24 hrs breakup always. Now I asked the girl if they slept and she said that she met him on bumble and she said that he was asking for casual sex and nothing serious to which she said no. He said me that he was sorry to get distracted and that it naturally happened. He bdw blocks me badly whenever we fight instead of resolving. I love him but he was never romantic and never did anything special for me. Many times I felt he took me for granted but since we are together since 2 years in this relationship I have lots of feelings for him and he apologised to me that he is devoted to me and will never get distracted. Whenever I miss him and I cry to him, he never cries or gets emotional to have missed me if we haven't met him for many days. But he said me that whenever he was distracted after he broke up with me for like 24 hours, he said me that he tried to find me in another woman always and then he missed me and always came back to me. I have never ever broken up with him ever. ( We always patched up after 24 hrs by resolving post him breaking up with me many times) I don't really know if he is completely loyal to me because of this. I trust his words that he is loyal to me but him telling me that I should love him more when he gets distracted make me wonder if he really loves me or not.

I'm 40, and recently broke up with my boyfriend (47) of 11 months. We had hundreds of days filled with highs, he is social, charming, has a lot of friends, loves going out, having fun. He was very sweet, romantic and caring during these times. There were red flags that I tried to rationalize- binge drinking multiple times a week, crippling debt from student loans and cc (>200K), no career motivation and health issues that started popping up (probably from drinking). We had 6-7 arguments over the last year, that I thought were heated but never out of control (and always under the influence of alcohol). The next day we'd both apologize and move on. I realized he'd get overwhelmed then, and sometimes even at the smallest disagreement or when I needed to vent (when both were sober). I showed concern about his health and debt and the stupid fights that happened while drinking. Asked him to cut back, but he was super defensive and in denial. Fast forward to the new year, we were going to move in together and he was going to propose. He suddenly started acting disinterested and cold and last week suddenly declares he doesn't want to move in together. I'm taken aback and ask why, and he brings up the fights and that it's too frequent. I ask if he's overwhelmed with all his issues, and he admits he is, but keeps blaming me for the fights. I say I'll work on being more understanding and only bring up stuff while we're both sober and in a calm way, but I can't change the past, only do better in the future. He's reluctant to accept my words and I finally ask in frustration if he wants to break up. He says he doesn't know what wants, but needs time on his own to think. Over the next 3 weeks, I don't hear from him and he ignores my call and texts, forcing me to text and email him an official breakup note. Rationally, I know he's not good for me in his current state, but my heart still loves him. I want to know if a man like this can change. Does he deserve a second chance?

29F & I’ve known a few people throughout my life that just hate doing things alone. Whether it’d be those people that jump from one relationship to the next or those people that just need some kind of company when it comes to doing everyday things (getting lunch, going shopping etc). I’m not sure if I just feel this frustration for those kinds of people because I wonder how they’re capable of just jumping into new relationships so easily, some kind of jealousy? At the same time, I wouldn’t feel happy with myself if I just disliked my own company that much & constantly needed someone there to fill that void, whether it’s romantic or platonic company. I’m very much a loner & have been single for pretty much my whole life, I feel like I’m at the point where I’m so used to it that a man will REALLY need to knock off my socks in order for me to consider dating him. In other words, I’ve done everything on my own including living alone etc, will adding a man to my life be that beneficial? This isn’t meant to sound feminist, I feel like I also question these kinds of codependent people because my mom may be one of them, yes she’s independent but even she’s admitted that she hates doing things alone. Thoughts? And when I say they’re *weak*, I’m talking specifically about this aspect of their life & not overall.

A guy I was casual with started acting differently for the last couple of days I was with him - he put less emphasis on sex, and wanted to take long walks, talk, wach a movie together, cuddle... We also talked about our values, ideal partner and vision of the future, and we're really compatible. I would take this as him liking me.

BUT, this was the first time I experienced "slow love /like". So despite showing clear signs of liking him, I was so focused on not being in love that I thought I had no romantic interest in him, and told him that. When I came back home, he ghosted.

I asked if everything was okay, still no reply, but he kept tabs on me by viewing my every story and status. I decided to remove him from my socials and delete his number. But it felt wrong doing it without saying goodbye, so just before deleting his no., I messaged to say goodbe, also called him out on ghosting and immaturity (worded in non-accusatory manner), and mentioned I liked him. Suddenly he replied with a smiley, said he was ohw home, and that he would get back to me later. But... he ghosted again.

Today I was talking with a guy friend who was sure he liked me, and we realized this might have pushed him away: (note he's 25, and I'm in my early 30s)

while we were talking about our visions of the future and the right partner, I mentioned I don't want to wait anymore. I meant I want to find the right person soon, and not settle down (I have things to take care of before that, which will take some years). But it might have come off as the latter given the context

Now this is bugging me, and I really want to say something (maybe a couple of weeks from now). But I don't know if he would still ask about it or ghost (see below)

What would you do in his place?

1. Would you still ask me about it after I told you I liked you, despite thinking I was ready to settle down? So to clear the confusion

2. Would you rather ghost to spare your own feelings because you were sure I was ready to settle down?
