Okay, I know I am going to embarrass myself writing this but my mind is going crazy.
So I have been playing this online game for two years. People play all over the world but it’s pretty private no profile photos or personal information etc.. well mostly guys play the game so my online presence has been presumed as a guy. (FYI there’s a group of 30 of us who play together, lots of jokes and general chat) until one day I shared a photo of my home working set up (we were all sharing photos in main group chat) which showed my name, luckily no one caught on except one guy. Since then we been joking privately about keeping my secret as don’t want to ruin the community I have there with the guys. Lately this one guy seems to generally care and writes me now long “stories” about our adventures on the game and at Christmas he wrote me 5k words and keeps encouraging chat where we seem to share information about each.(funny stories about hobbies and music etc). Sometimes there is flirting (or he sends me romantic lyrics from my favourite band) but again usual jokes about game etc. Problem is one minute he is full on and we are having a laugh and next minute he seems to pull away from me. It annoys me as we play on the game so well together and I also get frustrated with myself as I have somehow feelings for this mystery guy. Can anyone relate or help my confused head. Is it a pick me up when he is bored kinda thing or is there something here slowly developing?
