Also; I do not deride SJWs. I'm more than qualified as one myself. It just makes sense for us all to ask one another to maintain healthy standards of political correctness, AND of simple interpersonal respect.

It's the mark of the true SJW, though, to hold oneself to consistent standards, and to admit it when one lapses. It erodes our good name when we over-enforce, or when we simply deny our mistakes.

This question is about first-world nuisances. Hope most of us regard it as a necessary nuisance when someone counter-intuitively corrects you on someone else's pronoun preferences (i. e. when you're told not to call that hottie in form-fitting jeans "her"). Stay on watch for those personal pronoun preferences.

And it makes sense to say "they" if you know an individual specifically prefers you to. And it's okay to say "they" if you lack knowledge of an individual's gender identity, or especially if you don't know her/his/their actual gender. (Note my example of the articulate solution. It's rarely asking too much to write or to say "he, she, or they.")

Whereas the trend of PRONOUN OVERWATCH is an unnecessary nuisance. If you know someone likes to be called "her/she" and someone else likes to be called "he/him," then why say "them/they?"

When I noted that this bothers me, it felt like healthy emotional self-honesty. It soon got me wondering if maybe being bothered is more of a guy thing, so I decided I might as well poll. I considered polling women only, but realized there's no reason not to keep it open to all.

Sometimes, when confronted with unfaithfulness, cheaters will defends themselves by saying

- It only happened once, or

- I was drunk and didn't mean to do it, or

- I didn't plan it. It just happened and I immediately regretted it.

Some people will accept these excuses enough to not immediately end the relationship. It seems that they categorize these scenarios as "not as bad as long term, repeated cheating." Logically, I understand the argument, but. . . to me, any cheating is a reason to immediately end the relationship. Asking about degrees of cheating, or different levels of culpability is like asking, "What's worse? Dying by drowning in the middle of the ocean or dying in a fire?"

For me, the response is simple:

- It only happened once. . . BUT YOU PROMISED IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN, NOT EVEN ONCE!

- I was drunk and didn't mean to do it. . . BUT I'VE GOTTEN DRUNK BEFORE AND NEVER CHEATED ON YOU.

- I didn't plan it. It just happened and I immediately regretted it. . . . NO, IT DIDN'T JUST HAPPEN. YOU MADE DECISIONS AND TOOK ACTIONS THAT MADE IT HAPPEN, AND REGRETTING IT AFTERWARDS DOES NOTHING TO UNDO THE HARM YOU HAVE CAUSED.

It just seems like that's the way it is in modern dating thanks to dating apps and social media. Girls are flooded with matches and messages when they sign up for a dating app and it is pretty common for her to have over 100 matches in less than 24 hours after creating her profile. They also get a ton of DM's from guys via social media too. For a guy on the other hand, it is common for him to only get around 10-20 matches in less than 24 hours after signing up for a dating app and most of the girls that match with him either don't respond or their convo won't go far before it fizzles out. Guys have said it can take over a month just to get one first date from a dating app and most of the time there is no second date because the girls have such a big selection of guys they're talking to. Guys also never get DM's from girls on social media obviously and when they try to DM a girl, she's getting so many other messages from guys alongside his that he never gets a response. All of this considered, it seems like it has never been easier for a girl to meet a guy in the modern dating era, but it is harder than ever for a guy to meet a girl. Agree or disagree?
