Um.. this is not the sane thing as Caitlyn Jenner. There is a big difference between being transsexual and wanting to be a different race. You can embrace "black" culture but it doesn't make you black. Being Transgender means you v feel like a man or a woman even though that's not how you physically are built. How do you "feel" black?
As a black guy I couldn't give two fucks about this topic. Let people do whatever they want, got more important shit to worry about than someone changing their gender or identifying as a race they aren't. How about we do something about this shitty ass government (USA) of ours instead?
Enjoying and embracing the culture of another besides your own, is fine. Globalization is a beautiful thing.
But lying about being a certain ethnicity? Not cool.
I can buy transgender, aka someone's self identity being different than their biology. But trans-racial is bullshit... that is someone being so immersed in a culture that she wants to live a lie.
Even if she did genuinely believe she was "born in the wrong ethnicity"... she didn't declare that. She said she was black, not a "white-to-black transracial".
Much like "being Jewish" is a multi-layered identity between ethnicity, culture, and religion, "being black" is more than just having dark skin, it's also about a culture that's evolved for centuries (so is being white).
What would we say if this woman had been adopted by black parents? She'd still be genetically white, yeah? But she'd most likely identify as black.
I'm reminded of the scene from Barbershop where the experience and identity of the white skinned guy who was born and raised in South Chicago was being dismissed by the black skinned guy who'd gone to prep school, college, and was working for (if I recall) a white Alderman, whose own identity and experience were being dismissed by the other characters. Of course, the film didn't take sides and intentionally left the question unanswered.
being something other than cisgender is a real thing. Gender and sex are two different fucking things. An idiotic white woman with a complete lack of understanding that race isn't something you fucking choose is completely fucking different. You can be black and identify as black or African American or Asian American or whatever have you that you really fucking are from your bloodline an heritage and all that crap, but you can't have a blood line o let's say pure 100% Scottish and decide that you identify as being Pakistan. That's just desperately crying for attention.
No one chooses their gender either. You are born the way you are born. Same as race. You can feel like a woman all you want, but you are still a man. If you are saying that hers is a cry for attention, then so is Bruce Jenner's. Only difference is he wanted people to know, she didn't... So who is really looking for attention.
By the way, do whatever the fuck you want to people. No skin off my back. Just don't be hypocritical about it. Apparently anyone can be whatever the fuck they want to now. Only problem is this opens the door for people to take advantage the system. What is stopping a man/lady from taking maternity leave now if he adopts a child? Or a white person "identifying as black" getting an affirmative action hire. The world is to pc, and people are just taking advantage of it.
Actually gender and sex are the same thing. You are referring to one's self image. He doesn't feel like a man, so he wants to be a woman. Doesn't make him any less a man, or any more a woman. He is just a dickless man in a dress now. Which is fine, just don't get on your high horse about it. He just wants to feel accepted and this is how he does it. Same as her.
No one chooses their gender/sex, same as no one chooses their race. Or where they are born, or when they are born. You just need to be happy with yourself, the way you were born. And if you want to change that, go ahead. Just don't expect me to treat you any differently. It's your choice not the worlds.
As a black girl with Jamaican roots, I honestly don't see how someone can identify as "black" or "white" unless you are. Yes, there is culture in many black traditions, but celebrating them does not make you black simple as. Just like people say: "stop acting black/white", you can't act "like" a race and it's highly offensive to say something of that nature. This woman actually angers me because she is not black, she may like "black culture", but that does not make you black!
I'm confused how social media can go from worshipping a transgender one week because she has come out for who she really feels like she is. Yet to be disgraced at a woman for essentially coming out as black, although unwillingly. Is she not too just making a choice as to who she wishes to be, because that's how she identifies herself? Is it any different from a sports person wanting to represent a different country. For example, one of the UK's most famous athletes is Mo Farah. He was born in Somalia but moved to England age 8. Even though he and his whole family is from Somalia, he says he feels British. This doesn't see to be a problem for anybody and nobody complained when's in competed for Britain at the Olympics. (Winning 2 gold medals may have helped). And what is it to anyone anyway? At the end of the day the only person whose expectations you should have to live up to are your own. So if she's happy and not hurting anyone, then live and let live.
Except that Mo Farah doesn't identify as white. He identifies with the British culture because he grew up there. He doesn't identify as a white male, though. There's a difference between identifying as a specific race versus identifying with a certain culture because you grew up with it/it fascinates you.
personally I think how one is born biologically is how they are even if they change. That's just my opinion. Someone who changes from one gender to the other is still the same gender they were born with from my perspective. And someone who changes from one race to the other is still the same race they were born with. I don't see and difference between either of them and I don't see the point of even arguing which is more correct than the other. In the end, aside from the amount of time taken to change, they both changed. It doesn't matter if it's through surgery or makeup.
The difference is, Caitlyn Jenner didn't lie about being transgender and once being a man, where Rachel Dolezal did lie about being white and continued to use that lie for profit and personal gain. One is a scumbag, one isn't. I'll let you guess which is which!
Exactly. That woman is scum. She didn't just identify as black to fit in with blacks, she used it for monetary and economic gain, pushing out other people who were also white with her lie. She should be sued and arrested for fraud.
Color is defined by.. color. Race is defined by genes. Even more so, if we're talking medically. They ask for that crap for a reason, and that's because it matters (different races handle some meds differently) She's not black, and never will be. case closed.
You can't change race without recoding your whol goddamn genetic material! So tell her to sit down, and stop being a crybaby.
Also, funny how she seem to frequent tumblr. Why is it all those people always come from tumblr?

caitlyn jenner didn't pretend to be a woman to the world, join the woman's organization blah blah head it and then say.. oh by the way im really a man... dolezal did.. she's a fuking fraud.. get a brain u stupid immoral idiotic humans.. only today's generation of stupid nutcases would ask such moronic questions
1) Some people would say that Caitlyn IS pretending.
2) Who gives a fuck? Let her do what she wants. It harms NO ONE. She was helping people. Who cares if she was lying to herself and others? Did it do any true damage? None whatsoever.
How about people identify with what they are, you are what your born to be if you were meant to be black then you'd black or whatever color. And if you were born a man then you are a man not a women, an it or whatever no amount of surgery will change that, just like you can't darken or lighten your skin and call yourself black or white. At the end of the day you are what you were born as, nothing more, nothing less.
@blondfrog yes but that does not make you black in the same sense or manner as them your still a white person you are still what you were born as and nothing can ever change that.
I identify myself as a gay, transgender, lesbian, black, caucasian, reptilian, chinese, arab, muslim, alien, catholic, trasvestite, transgender, bisexual person. In what category of the human race or gender I fit in? SInce lately on the news everyone is coming out as a person who is different as the race and gender they were not born with. HAHAHA LOL!!!
Both Bruce Jenner and Rachel Dolezal have serious disorders of identity. But if the PC crowd are going to celebrate Bruce Jenner's disorder as something wonderful, then it's the height of hypocrisy to criticize Dolezal. Hell, sometimes when I play blues music I FEEL like I'm black. And who can say I'm not if I FEEL like I am?
This is all what is known as a psy-op. Just like Colin Kaepernick went from being light skinned and a normal haircut to way darker with an afro taking a knee. They want to push any kinds of trans agenda whether it be transracial or transgender. Why? Because they want to get the world ready for transhumanism. The RFID chip and other things. They figure if people are stupid enough to accept these things that they would be stupid enough to take a chip in their arm or hell in the future replace most of their body parts with robotic parts and who knows what else they have planned.
The thing that cracks me up about this story is, even if she WAS mixed race, she still wouldn't be African-American or "Black", she would be classified as MIXED RACE.
Another thing, if the NAACP is all about acceptance, then WHY do they exclude other races then? Hypocrisy much?
I disagree... There are several people who are biracial and because they have black in them they are automatically black. It's call the one blood drop rule... Even if you were 20% black and 80% white you were considered black. And you can't have someone represent you as a culture when she isn't black... she doesn't know the struggles of being black is
@Bigclit The "One Drop Rule" has been abolished for over 50 years now. When you look at a demographic surveys, there will be a "mixed race" option. I guess she can identify herself as "African-American" if she wants. I guess I could too, right? I mean couldn't anyone define themselves as anyone with this logic? I agree, Rachel is ignorant but at the same time, she's not harming anyone.
I'm a fifth Native American but I didn't have enough in my blood to get a free ride in college (believe it or not, Native Americans can go to college for free due to a treaty signed over 200 years ago.) So mixed race is NOT one race.
And you don't need to be a certain race to realize the struggles of that particular race. However, the NCCAP's mission statement is "To ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination."
@cincinnatiredsfan I know it's been abolished but that doesn't people still don't have that mind set.. unless you are biracial yourself or know the experience they've got through you can't speak on it. Everyone knows that person may be half white and half black but because of their features and skin color they're black it doesn't matter what you say but that's the truth. It's true people identity themselves as whatever they say they want to be, but the truth is they are white or black you can't pretend to be have struggled as a black woman when you weren't black. I never said she was harming anyone. That's true you don't need to be a certain race to understand the struggles of other races, but it's not the same. The Holocaust was a terrible tragedy, but I don't know the struggle of Jewish people or the struggle of African Slaves and the discrimination against Blacks, Irish, Mexican, and Japanese etc but I'm not going to claim or represent myself as one of them when I'm not.
@Bigclit Actually, I probably could officially identify myself as bi-racial (if I wanted), because I'm a fifth Native American. I won't, since I'm 80 percent Caucasian and I don't like to inaccurately identify myself. I just feel like this isn't opinion because people can be turned down financial aid or other funds due to their race. I know some people still used the "One Drop Rule"(like the ignorant people who think Obama is Black) but that doesn't mean it's true. I mean with this logic, Andrew Jackson was our first African-American president then, since he apparently had African in his bloodline. I mean it just gets ridiculous.
I'm not saying I can feel the struggles of African-Americans at all but I know some of their problems. The only reason I mentioned the NCAAP is because their mission statement is to include ALL people (they claim), yet, they reject people on their race.
@cincinnatiredsfan I wasn't talking about you I was talking about her.. she can't talk about the struggles of being an African American women when she's not. She can't go around making speeches about how to be a successful black women or how "her African American" background made it a struggle all though her life when she isn't, she can't. Period.
What Howard University did was wrong, but this is about her not Howard or the NAACP... Bruce Jenner didn't join a women organization and become one of the leaders make speeches about how he's struggle as a women was then was exposed to be a man. I'm sure if she identified herself if a white women no one would have a problem with her.
@Bigclit "I'm sure if she identified herself if a white women no one would have a problem with her." I certainly hope so.
I see the difference between Caitlyn and Rachel, I see your point there. Caitlyn apparently didn't go around talking about the struggles of being a woman.
@cincinnatiredsfan It personally doesn't bother me or affect me in anyway but i can understand why people who be upset by her claim. I enjoyed this discussion thank you for you opinion and thoughts about it
Mixed people are still usually just classed as black by society. Even in describing them, they'll say a black man instead of mixed man, and people in general just say they're black. The person themselves might identify with both, but in general society doesn't identify them with both. Only maybe when a mixed person has the very light brown skin, lose curls that are maybe a little light brown or blonde and have green eyes do people make a point of saying those ones are mixed. Unless you're like that and mixed, then you're just called black usually.
And I'm sure NAACP had released a few statement saying they don't care if she's white and they have some other white people there and she can stay in her position. Just that she personally decided to step down because of the controversy.
Oh god, I can't even watch this lol. All of this crap gives me a headache. This and the Caitlyn Jenner thing! Enough! Yes Caitlin is a transsexual, but he's not lying about anything! This broad has the nerve to say she's something she is not! I don't care if you identify WITH black but you are NOT black, stop saying you are! Those Twitter post are obnoxious too. I hate Hollywood media!!! Kill me! Lol
Maybe she is white, maybe she's black. I don't even know anymore. I like the Simpsons. From now on, you must all call me yellow or you're racist... or something.
I'm really confused about this Jenner/Dolezal thing. Im trying to look at them as fantasy characters because if I really think about this, my brain will bleed.
I'm sorry but I don't support her. Transsexuals have very real gender identity issues, I don't see how you can feel like you are black. I can understand relating to black culture but I don't see how you can feel like you are a black person. Men and women have slight differences in their brains that create distinct gender identities, but I don't think there is any such difference between the brains of a black woman and a white woman.
@Xlink I have seen no evidence of that. I believe that she wishes she was black, I just doubt that there's a part of her brain that genuinely feels like she's a black woman.
Being gay or transexual or wanting to be black or whatever are all psychological issues. Same as you thinking you want to be a woman. Aomthing in your brain is making ur believe that.(not true in a cases but most) and SME with this black white lady she messed up in the head same as that Jenner person.
You gotta look at it like this most people beilve that you are born gay right. So that come from within right like your genes or something. Basically internally.
While being transracial is more external like she want to be black because something she seen as a child or a torment , or environment she grew up. Kinda of like a PTSD sorta kinda not really but stay with me with this. if she felt something as a child it could have grew or molded with her as a adult.
There are the case were there are black and Asian woman wanting to be white. By bleaching because they believe lighter skin looks better.
It never been studyed before so you can tprove its not real
@Xlink Being transracial and wanting to be another race are different. When someone is transsexual, it is not just because they want to be the other gender. It is because they do actually have the mind and identity of the other gender, as if you put a womans brain in a mans body or visa-versa. Someone could wish they were a man but still be a cis-woman. Someone could wish they were a woman and still be a cis-man. That's what you aren't understanding. Trans-sexual is a real thing not because there are people who wish they were the other gender but because their brain is built like the other sex. Because that difference in brain structure does exist across gender lines but does not exist across racial lines, trans-sexuality is a real thing whereas there is no such thing as trans-racial. Anyone who thinks they are a black person in a white body or a white person in a black body or any other combination is a wannabe. Rachel Dolezal wants to be black but she isn't and won't ever be.
The reason for this is because in ever society, men and women coexisted and shared DNA, so they both have the same genetic building blocks. A man can have a womans brain because of this. People from different continents evolved differently over tens of thousands of years to be distinct from each other. You could for all I know be trans-sexual and have a womans brain but (assuming you are not of Asian descent) you cannot have an Asian persons brain any more than a frog can have a toads brain. That's not how biology works.
How can you say that people can have surgery and go from being a man, to a woman, but someone can't change their looks and go from one race to another?
After all, which is the bigger leap? Race or sex?
Anyone who thinks trans sexuality is a real thing, but scorns Dolezal, is a hypocrite, haha.

Transgender is real, Transracial is made up. Thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
Trans racial is a real thing.
this. it's stupidty of epic standards.
Spelling errors my bad. But you get it
You gotta look at it like this most people beilve that you are born gay right.
