10 Reasons why I love being Mexican!

For those of you who don't know, I'm a proud Mexican American, and I'm doing this myTake in honoe of Mexico's Independence Day. It would be impossible to list all the reasons why I love being Mexican, but I can give you 10 reasons why I love being Mexican!

1. Mexican Food rocks!!!

We make kick ass food and we do food RIGHT! Tacos, enchiladas, tamales, tostadas, menudo & posole!! You name it, they're all so good!!

2. I love Mexican Music!

Mariachi, Norteño, Banda, Rancheras, and Corridos are my favorites!

3. Mexican candy, chips and sodas are heaven on earth!

4. Mexican Pastries

5. The language: Spanish

In my opinion, everything has more sentiment in Spanish. I love the fact that Spanish is a romance language. Even flirting is more fun in Spanish, and you can even talk "dirty" without saying dirty things, words in Spanish can have double meanings.

6. Family

Even if you're not Mexican, once you meet a Mexican, you become part of their family! Mi casa, es tu casa! If you know me, you know that I'm very family oriented. I was raised with the belief that family is the most important thing in the world. I have the fortune to say that I'm very close to my family.

7. Pride

We take so much passion and pride in who we are. That's loyalty that cannot be topped.

8. Remedies for everything!

Some of them are completely ridiculous, you probably have one of your grandma's remedios for a fever or flu, a scrape, or a pimple stored in your brain forever, and that's important knowledge to have.

9. Celebrating

We love celebrating everything, literally. And if you're Mexican probably this has happened to you once or twice in your life on your birthday:

The woman I most recently dated was born in Mexico. She was very kind, optimistic, and lovely.

I love Sonoran cuisine.

As for speaking Spanish, I have no idea what Ricardo Montalban is saying here, but it sounds AWESOME! My mother, by the way, had such a thing for Ricardo Montalban that I honestly think the sound of his voice could impregnate her.

I might have to respectfully disagree with you about the music. I don't like most Mexican music. Perhaps Selena Quintanilla is a notable exception, and yes, I know she's technically Tejana, but she had such a lovely voice and her story is very tragic. I remember driving through the desert near 29 Palms Marine Corps base and listening to a local radio station. That night, the base was open to civilians by invitation, and I remember a Sgt. Martinez dedicated a song by Selena to his girlfriend, saying how he was looking forward to seeing her that night and how he loved her very much. I don't know why, but I'll never forget that sentiment, and what it was like speeding through the desert listening to that. Very touching. Los Lobos did a cover of Feliz Navidad, strictly instrumental, that I have heard once and only once. My wife and I loved it, but we never heard it since.

Still, I think Cuban music is better.

Here's why I love mexican people

1. Authentic Mexican places serving dirt cheap Mexican food that beats Taco Bell by a billion points, giant fucking tacos the size of your arm for 3 bucks? Shit, that's a steal.

2. Mexican women, what, with their big plump asses, sexy accents and very fertile vaginas.

3. Amazing cheap automotive service, get a tire change? 50 bucks, go to Firestone, 500 bucks!

4. Amazing lawn care

5. Fast labor, go to any restaurant, bam, your burger is made in 1 minute

LOL about the 7-Up! xDDD I am not Mexican, but when I was little, my mom used to give me 7-Up sometimes too whenever my stomach wasn't feeling too good. Not sure that it ever helped any, but at least it tastes good. :P Brings back the memories, ahah.

I love mexicans, all my life they have been so kind to me and made amazing food and i never got the crappy racism in the media about mexicans. American Media will make anyone not white looking the devil and I dont get how people dont seem to understand that. Viva Mexico!

I'm mexican-American and none of this really applies to me, having americanized parents. But I still like being mexican cause it gave me a big dick, great complexion and fertile loins. Also for all those government or college forms I get to check off "Latino" in the box and get an advantage for organizations trying to reach a diversity quota.
