How were the money spent?
44% of it went towards... "wages".
Who are the contractors?
What is a “Fee” in the context of the breakdown, and why does it not fall under any of the other categories?
Why is the “Curriculum and Bonuses” section estimated, and why is this likely to cost $8,000?

So many questions and yet so few people actually ask the question of "how will the money be spent" before pressing the "Donate" button. Certainly using funds in such a way is nothing new under the sun. Back in May 19th the Federal Trade Commission, all 50 states, and the District of Columbia today announced they had taken legal action against four cancer charities they described as "shams" operating for the benefit of family and friends.

The federal complaint accuses the Breast Cancer Society, Cancer Fund of America, Cancer Support Services, and Children’s Cancer Fund of America, along with several of their executives, of bilking more than $187 million from consumers through deceptive fundraising pitches.

So, there is a market out there for unattractive women who desire to pat themselves on the back and find emotional porn that caters to their desire to feel like a sympathy-deserving victim.

These women desire and want that emotional porn so much, that they're willing to pay at least $160,000 to finance the production and continuing supply of that emotional porn.

At the end of the day, Anita Sarkeesian is not some PhD in psychology, human sexuality, or male behavior. She's not the Dali Lama or some uber-wise objective, impartial, and unbiased neutral that's just looking to reach the point of "ultimate and absolute fairness" with respect to how society should be organized and operate. She's just an "entertainer" looking to make a quick buck.

I'm all about women manipulating the feminists that comprise their audience and extracting money from them for their own private gain. At the end of the day, all that these feminists audiences are financing is just "entertainment" ... emotional porn that nobody other than just feminists have a niche fetish for.

Some unattractive girl in high school that feels lonely, unpopular, and unwanted by the boys that she likes will stumble upon this material, and all of a sudden feel a strange sense of agreement. "Yes! The world is so unfair! I'm a victim! Society should change their behavior and preferences, and video game companies should try to socially program boys to like and prefer me, instead of catering to what their own target audience and consumers want!"

That's nice, but that's never going to happen.

All those "shame tactics" go in one ear and out the other. That's like trying to shame Maxim magazine for featuring girls that are below a size 6, because most girls don't actually hit the gym, don't care about what they eat, and weren't born with excellent genes (or a professional photographer and Photoshop team). Say Maxim changes. How will Maxim benefit when their consumers start buying FHM, or ZOO magazines instead? They won't.

So, for that reason, Anita Sarkeesian is just like Vivid, or BangBros, or any other porn or entertainment company. She creates and writes the material she knows will appeal to her audience, takes their money, and no actual "change" has occurred (i. e., nothing else is actually different in her audience's life after consumer their emotional porn... other than having less money now to actually help support lobbying organizations).

At the UN they tried to push for criminalisation of criticising feminists, all while claiming it's not their responsibility to prove they're being harassed, that their word should be taken at face value when accusing someone of harassing them.

They prepared a do called report that after close study was found to be bogus with a bunch of links and references going to empty non-existent pages or the report cites itself as a source.

The UN apologised for the report and it's been pulled.

well, at least the gamers won Gamergate.
Or rather, the gaming media lost. Steam doesn't really use gaming medias anymore for news (kokatu, rockpapershotgun, and the big ones are pretty much gone), and game devs now use streamers and scuh to review games more and more.
So in the end, the whole gamergate did what it was meant to do. Expose a shady practice.

What annoys me about whining that there's not enough female characters in games or whatever - it all boils down to the author. It's not a fucking conspiracy, if the author is male - he will most likely make the protagonist a male because authors often identify with their main character. Same way most female protagonists are created by females.

Where's their protests against MLP which hardly has any male characters at all and if I'm not mistaken, the few that are there are either derps or villains.

I've been meaning to play that game, my boyfriend did and said it was pretty awesome.

Lara as we know her s 100% independent and strong. In this game? hardly at all. Be prepared for an extensive amounth of sobstory. People were mad because they completely rewrote her character.

Also, it's a generic shooter, with dungeon exploration elements. In the originals you spend 80% of the times solving puzzles. In this you spend 80% of it shooting stuff.
But hey, shooters is what sells nowadays...

As for the weak-ass bitch: nobody born a badass, you become one when hardened by life struggles and challenges and from what I've heard about the game, it was made to show the MAKING of Lara Croft. She's gone through tonnes of shit which made her the character we know today in pop culture.

I don't believe in having a set personality that never deviates and stays the same, because it's unrealistic.

compared to the average shooter, there's a lot of climbing.
Compared to previous games in the series, the puzzles are weak, small, and not really puzzles at all.

And the whole "made lara" is exactly why it's considered a reboot. Because it's such a huge difference in personality, as well as game design. Also you have a few "gamebreaking" moments where she speds a 5 minute long cutscene bawling her eyes out about killing a guy in self defence, then you're put in an 1 hour long map that can't be sealthed (meaning you got to kill 50something more bad guys).
Logic...

It's not a bad game per see, but if you have played the previous tomb raider games and expect the same, then this WILL disappoint. If you expect something new, then you might be able to enjoy it for what it is (but will probably consider it to not have the domb raider feeling), and if you haven't played the old tomb raider then you'll probably like it.

I don't think she is smart since everything she did/said is easily disproved (and has been disproved time and time again). What she is good at was seeing an opportunity and capitalizing on it.
