I have been seeing this reoccurring theme so many times. People putting single people into the same category as people who are bitter and hate Valentine's day.
Saying that is like me assuming that all married people have boring lives and stop going out and having fun. Just because one person got dumped and thinks that Valentine's day and love sucks does not mean that all single people feel that way.
I personally do not care about Valentine's day. But some taken people will try to turn that around and make it seem like single people whine about Valentine's day and accuse other singles of hating it.
Let me tell you something that might surprise you...
Single people are humans too! We have different personalities, we have interest and we are not all the same.

I don't pick on single people on Valentine's day, nor do I support anyone who does. The main type of hate I've seen around this site, quite prevalent, is towards people who do happen to be in a relationship on Valentine's day.
As if it's somehow our fault that multiple stores/companies hurl Valentine's/relationship-related things everyone's way around this time of the year.
I have friends in relationships and the way I see it is they do their thing and I do mine.
yeah, exactly. How come you made a take defending single people though, as it doesn't sound like you've actually experienced any taken people who 'try to turn that around and make it seem like single people whine about Valentine's day and accuse other singles of hating it'?
I don't like people assuming that all single people are the same. There are some taken people who assume that single people are lonely and bitter
... true. Were you ever told this directly by anyone?
No, but that does not change the fact that this happens. I have a right to post what I think, just like you have a right to tell people what you think.
I'm bitter and hate Valentine's Day, but it isn't because I'm single. I guess technically I'm somewhat in a relationship... just not a monogamous one. I hate Valentine's Day for other reasons and I don't care if people don't like that I don't like it.
This will be my first Valentine's day in 4 years as a single guy.. I'm not bitter, but will probably feel a little down on the 14th. I agree with you though, not all of us are the same.
