Why You Shouldn't Say "Who Cares?"

This myTake is about the remark “who cares?” (yes, I’m doing a take about two words). I have 3 reasons why it’s wrong to use this phrase.

1. Say what you mean

When you say “who cares” really what you mean is:
“I don’t care”
“I don’t give a fuck”
or
“It doesn’t matter to me”
So why not just say what you mean?

2. Objectivity vs Subjectivity

What is meant by “who cares” is a subjective opinion about your own preferences. People are entitled to their opinions. The problem here is that by saying “who cares” you are arrogantly positing yourself as the spokesperson for the global population and objectively saying that across the board it’s true that no one cares, that not one single person gives a fuck. Statistically, that is near impossible, so speak for yourself.

3. It’s just plain rude

You have freedom of speech, you can say whatever you want, but that doesn’t mean that you should always say what you want. Personally, I don’t care if you say “I don’t give a fuck” because people can’t give a fuck about everything in this world. Yeah, sure, it may seem a bit mean but it’s still just a subjective, personal opinion. Whereas if you say “who cares” then you’re irreconcilably coming across like an asshole.

I understand your frustration so I will blunt down my "Who Cares?" a bit in future - In a mixture of one and three I will politely state that I don't want to hear about it anymore as I don't think it has anything to do with me, I wish to spend my time more constructively - I totally agree with two, you cannot speak for anyone unless they ask you to.

I always thought it was kind of funny when people say "Who cares?".
Like, clearly you do care because you went out of your way to post "Who cares"? lmao.

1. when I say who cares I literally mean who the fuck could give a shit about what you just said no one will ever care.

2. secondly it's really just a phrase that means this is pointless or retard and in my opinion no one should care.

3 I don't care if I come across as a plebeian arsehole, who cares is barely even rude aswell and why does that even matter if it's used correctly.

You actually have a point. "Who cares" is just implying that no one gives a fuck, which is often false.
Better to say " I don't give 2 flying fucks."
