1. Miss the food
It’s not always the same as it is in your country. Sure, you could find restaurants doing that kind of cuisine, but nothing will taste like home.
2. Miss the family
Probably you’re cold hearted, probably you don’t like your family, probably you hate everyone, but at the end of the day… seeing a “familiar” face would make your day in this new country.
3. You’ll become a patriot
Did you hate patriotic days? Not anymore, anything that reminds you of home will be exquisite for you. You’ll start singing the anthem, you’ll start wearing the flag colors, and you’ll relate anything to your country.
4. Miss the friends
Even if you didn’t have many, you’d kill for having a friend to be with you to share some laughs. New experiences are amazing, and they get better when you have people who you love around you.
5. Hug that stranger who isn’t a stranger now

They would feel like family. Finally! Someone who can understand the struggle of being alone.
6. You are independent and a walking adventure
You don’t fear being a tourist, you did it and you’re surviving the experience. You meet new people and the cultural exchange is amazing. You learn about living life differently, some things weird you out, but others amaze you.
7. You change
No, you will never be the same. These wonderful people with their crazy and amazing traditions will change your life forever. You might prefer your homeland over this new country, or vice versa. Whatever happens, you left the old you in your city. There’s a new you now.
