There are many people that I have so much respect for, whether it be their talents or good deeds. The people in this list are great role models in my opinion.
1.) The 442nd RCT
I've already written some takes mentioning them but since I respect them a lot, I'll mention them again. They are the most decorated(medal count) unit of their size and length of service in US army history. They were formed during WWII, these men were Japanese-Americans who enlisted in the army to prove that they are loyal to the US. They were mostly short men 5'0"-5'6" yet they overcame all odds and gained a lot of respect for their performance during WWII. As a result of bigotry they faced during WWII, it's been assumed that they weren't awarded some of their deserved medals in those days. It took a few decades for some of their members to be awarded their medals of honor. A monument dedicated to them is located in little Tokyo California. Some of these men are still alive today.

4.) Steven Seagal
Some people respect this man and others criticize him. There are many bad rumors about him but most of them are unconfirmed. However there are many good things about him. He is a expert in Aikido, Karate and Judo. He also a action movie star and a police officer. He is animal rights activist. While there are some people that don't like him(maybe because they are jealous of him), most people like him and respect his talents.
He is mostly known for his unique style of playing mostly unstoppable protagonists. It's very rare for his characters to even get a scratch.

5.) Masakatsu Funaki
A Mixed Martial artist who 6'0" and is considered to be the greatest mixed martial artist of Japan since he has beaten the best fighters. His most notable wins are against Bas Rutten and the 6'11" Semmy Schilt. He is also a professional wrestler.

He is one of the greatest MMA fighters to have ever lived. He won most of his fights and is known for winning fights against much larger opponents such as Semmy Schilt, Hong Man Choi and Tim Sylvia. Fedor has good sportsmanship.

10.) Jean Claude Van Damme
Probably one of the most popular action movie stars in the world. Before he started his acting career, he competed in martial arts competitions and was very good. Even though he is nearly 60 years old now, he is still in better shape than most younger guys.

They've played one of the most popular roles in the world. They've all demonstrated their prowess as actors in the James Bond series. Aside from that, they've also had success in other films and elsewhere as well.

15.) Mark Calaway
While I do have respect for every WWE superstar, Mark Calaway(ring name the undertaker) is one of my favorites. He is a very popular professional wrestler that has been wrestling for over 20 years. He is a MMA fan and has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He also starred in a tv show called poltergeist legacy. He has a high pain tolerance, since he performed with real life injuries(concussions, Torn muscles etc). He is also very friendly in real life.

16.) Cain Velaquez

18.) Morehei Ueshiba
The founder of Aikido. He not only founder his own martial art, he also taught it to many people. Due to it's unique style, some people for whatever reason, think Aikido is fake. It's already been proven to be authentic but it's not allowed in MMA for being dangerous in MMA competitions.

19.) Masahiko Kimura
A famous Japanese Judoka who was 5'7" that is known for winning a grappling contest against Helio Gracie with a reverse ude garami(Kimura lock). He also defeated various martial artists(boxers, wrestlers, bjj practitioners etc.)

These are some of the people I respect, there are many more. Maybe I'll write part 2 later on.
