I have no problem with trans people. I have a problem with being referred to as Cis. A big problem. So many trans people make out like gender doesn't matter etc. Then why you all constantly referring to yourselves as a label and me as a label. Irks me and I have no time for people who use Cis as a slur, which 9/10 it is.
I won't be crying for your loss of white cis privilege. Non-binary gendered persons are forced to make gender an issue because bigoted straight cis people insist on making them to be freaks. When they use the term abnormal they don't mean the strict literal meaning of outside of the norm, they men it as an insult.
White cis male here. A lot of unwanted privilege connected with that.
@wagsingle I'm not straight. So try again. I never called anyone abnormal, I never said let's use normal or abnormal. Don't call me Cis, in the same way I won't call someone abnormal. 16 year olds need to calm down and get their ass through education before they try and educate someone else without all the facts.
@DinaM I don't like being called Cis. In the same way I don't like being called Queer, yet lots of gay/bi youth seem to want to label anyone within the LGBT as Queer. It's not my word. I don't like it, I don't like being called it. Simple really. Don't call me something I do not want to be called. Yes Cis is used as a slur, just go on tumblr for 5 seconds.
That's a pretty weak excuse, if you ask me. I've seen people on tumblr use "WOMAN" as a slur, but I'm still not going to be insulted if someone calls me a woman.
@DinaM totally different. I am a woman and I'm proud to be a woman. There's a lot of different ways to say female: bitch, bird, etc. I don't like any of them, I don't want to be called anything but woman. Cis isn't something I want to be labelled as. If trans people have the right to that, then why don't I?
@DinaM not at all. I want the opposite of what they want, I don't want labels. I don't want someone else to tell me what I am or am not. I don't want those words to be used as slurs when I'm part of the LGBT community myself. Why does me, choosing to not have a label, affect you in any way?
@DinaM or I could choose not to. I don't like the word Queer for that reason. It's my choice, just like others don't want to be referred to as other things.
@DinaM they could. But I still don't want to be referred to as Cis. I don't want to be thrown into a group of people. Queer is apparently no longer a slur but it is to me so *shrugs*. Everyone's entitled to their opinion and can refer to themselves however they want. Just don't call me certain things.
What if I told you I am straight (I am) and that I do not care what a person is born as. You do you it's your life why should I be worried. I live and let live. However being angry at all straight people is not a good thing. I did nothing to you and I never would.
The thing is that when a transgender person is visiting a medical professional many of them are being told that they needs to go on hormones treatments, getting surgeries etc. to ease the symptoms in many Western countries. It's not like in conservative countries where transgender is seen as something that's not a thing.
Very interesting take - I agree with your principle of "Birth Gender" and that you choose your own "Gender Identity" as you grow up - I have always being fascinated with the society's need to label as much as possible - I think we should view everybody as individual like for example in society's eyes I am probably straight but can I or society categorically say that the next person I fall for will be a woman, no it would be an illogical statement.
"A woman isn't a vagina and a man isn't a penis" A woman is XX and a man is XY. End of story.

I can't understand you unless I have been there done that, so I can't relate, but I still respect how you feel. The majority of people will never understand why you feel this way but the same goes for me or most people. there are just some things we can't relate to.
Non-cis people: I hope someday you can understand we DO understand, and we've been supporting you all along, despite countless times being told to "die cis scum" among other comments and insults, by your very own kind (by which I mean LGBTQ+ individuals)

All this "cis" BS will disappear in the wind the day other people's money, that feeds protective layers of blood sucking lawyers Whack-O higher education and oppressive government runs out. We have natural roles and exactly two sexes, supported by millennia of human history. Deviants will either be quarantined or carried to the river. The sooner the better. Civilization is corrupt and worn out and needs to be rebooted after a cleansing period of dark ages. And I'm not even angry.
""And also I wanted to say that I don't understand how liking a trans woman makes a man gay or bisexual. Why do cisgender people boil others down to genitals? A woman isn't a vagina and a man isn't a penis. A man can like penis while not liking men. A man can enjoy penis while still desiring a woman.""
This is soooooooooooo true

You have gender dysmorphia, I have moderate clinical depression. As in, I don't want to be here anymore. I'm not suicidal, I'm just not thrilled about being alive. Here's the difference between you and me:
I DON'T WANT ANY OF YOU TO EVER UNDERSTAND THIS!
If I were the last person to ever feel this way... if I could take this feeling to the grave with me and save everyone else from it, I would.
To say you want everyone to feel your torment is disgusting.
Calling people "cis" is fucking stupid. Grow up and seek help. I dont care about your gender or sexuality. I care that you dont use a dumb term like cis.
@JenSCDC Jesus Christ. SJW in the house! let them have their opinion instead of calling them names and falsely claiming that they are spreading hatred on the internet. The way I see it, you are the person you're accusing WebDevGeek of being.
It's 18 years age limit on surgeries in my country and between 16 and 18 years old age limit on hormone treatment depending from person to person and which decisions the medical staff takes. Hormone blockers are something you already can begin at in the age of 13 depending from case to case.
Only problem I have is with homosexual males, but I find myself uncomfortable. I do understand reasons why two men would be in a relationship with each other, Love is, of course, universal and takes no sides, only when you think of a group and yourself at the same time.
To be a girl who thinks she's a boy is absolutely insane and in requirement of treatment.
Studies show an upward of 45 % suicide rate for transsexuals, with an even higher percentage for those who've undergone surgery.
People who've had this serious and devastating condition often report being deeply relieved after some time, if they've no reacted to their urges, to experience in total comfort of their true gender - which, of course, is unchangeable. (Hint: XX/XY)

And also I wanted to say that I don't understand how liking a trans woman makes a man gay or bisexual.
I guess on a technical term it kinda does.
I am a man, my sex is male.
If I am attracted to a transgender woman her gender is female and her sex is male.
Sex and Gender are different things.
Homosexuality - sexual attraction to people of one's own sex
That's just semantics. From a physiological perspective homosexuality is being attracted to a person of your own gender. The term homosexual came from a time when physiology didn't yet understand sexual orientation and gender identity as well as it does today.
No one is making you call yourself Sis any more than we are requiring you to go around saying "I'm Anglo Saxon (I don't know if you are, just making a point). It's just a term that means your birth gender matches your junk. And how can you say you support Trans people when you imply they are abnormal? What ever the fuck normal means.
@wagsingle I support their right to be trans and I don't discriminate against them in anyway. But I won't give them any special treatment just like I wouldn't give a normal gender person any special treatment. It's called equality.

"Cis" isn't a slur, any more than "straight" is.

It's tumblr. EVERYTHING is used as a slur on tumblr.
@DinaM and therefore, Cis is used and a slur and I find it insulting.
That's a pretty weak excuse, if you ask me. I've seen people on tumblr use "WOMAN" as a slur, but I'm still not going to be insulted if someone calls me a woman.

... are you just jealous that trans people get to complain about labels, and want in on the action?
@DinaM not at all. I want the opposite of what they want, I don't want labels. I don't want someone else to tell me what I am or am not. I don't want those words to be used as slurs when I'm part of the LGBT community myself. Why does me, choosing to not have a label, affect you in any way?
@DinaM but yes, I'm so jealous of tumblr trans people 🙄 So envious of their label bullshit.
You could always reclaim the word. ^_^
@DinaM or I could choose not to. I don't like the word Queer for that reason. It's my choice, just like others don't want to be referred to as other things.
Fine, but "cis" is still not a slur. I don't care what the tumblr crowd says, those people could twist "hello, how are you" into something offensive.
@DinaM they could. But I still don't want to be referred to as Cis. I don't want to be thrown into a group of people. Queer is apparently no longer a slur but it is to me so *shrugs*. 16 year olds? Oh, how did that happen? Got to check my profile. That should say 56.
@wagsingle sure. You deffo put your DOB in wrong, right? 🙄
Yes, and you must send an email to get it corrected.
Cis is Latin like trans is.
But the real question is do you even understand yourself?

I accept and understand you and everyone else who is not CIS just as long as you all have morals and don't hurt anyone.

Another mentally ill liberal.
-> A boy can be born with a woman's brain and the other way around
-> Gender is just a social construct
Make up your bloody mind. But you can't do that of course. Because hypocrisy and self-contradiction is a must if you want to be a liberal.
I'm a conservative
same shit different name. conservatives concede everything and conserve nothing.
I'm a beautiful woman 🥰
Why not visit a psychiatrist?

@curiousnorway a shame indeed
If it's so important for you, you can change it through political demonstrations etc.
@curiousnorway nah, not my fight at all.

I wish someday you would stop calling straight, non-transgender people "cis". I feel you are calling me a pussy and a sissy.
If you are born a male with male genitals, YOU ARE A MALE. Same goes with females.
@JenSCDC
Do I need to give you a tissue and play the tiny violen?
I will not appologize for being real.

Tbh, I think the libertarian approach is the best for all those issues. I prefer for the state to not tread on me.
It's 18 years age limit on surgeries in my country and between 16 and 18 years old age limit on hormone treatment depending from person to person and which decisions the medical staff takes. Hormone blockers are something you already can begin at in the age of 13 depending from case to case.

@wagsingle I did say on a technical term didn't I?
And the concent of sex was before the concept of gender since gender has more to do with social norms of different sexes.
I hate the term cis, even though I completely support transgenders. Having to call myself some special title instead of just "normal" is ridiculous.
But it makes us feel better when you call yourself cis instead of normal
That's rather self centered to make other people call themselves a name just to make you feel better.
So you support transgender people, but call them abnormal. With that kind of support who needs bigots.
@wagsingle Is less than a percent of the population not abnormal?
