Number 1 in mass shootings leading in this category for over 14 years now...
The problem and the reason? Your second amendment.
You've had 78.815 annual average of non-fatal gun injuries in just 4 years! (from 2010 to 2014)
You've had 383 mass shootings in 2016 (and yes, that's more than one per day)!
In that same year you had more than 15.000 people killed by gun violence (only homicides).
A terrible depiction of America and it's constitution...but it makes you wonder... This is exactly what the Las Vegas shooter was thinking during his last homicidal, disturbing moments.
Mass shootings for this year count 273, and the year's not over yet!
Up until now, for 2017, 11.600 people were killed...and counting... (All homicides.)
Does each and every one of you have to get caught in that bloodshed for you to realize your law is doing you a disservice?
Do you have to lose your families, your loved ones, your own lives for this to make sense to you?
Be smart, think for yourselves, if you WERE caught in a mass shooting, you'd be the primary target of the shooter when you pull out the gun. In almost all mass shootings the people who pulled out guns with the intent to defend themselves have died, not to mention how many of them injured or killed civilians in the panic, not even bothering to see where they were shooting at.
You can't save yourself with a gun in a mass shooting. All you can do is run for cover hoping you won't get gunned down as you do so.
Wake up and smell the genocide, people!
You, your inexperience and your naivete are your own worst enemies.
IS this the price you pay for freedom?!
P.S.
For those who don't like these facts, how do you justify people on terrorist watch and mentally ill getting guns in a very easy and legal way in the US?
Well first thing is your stats are wrong. Grossly so. You pulled your mass shootings data from a site that doesn't list its criteria or research methods and then conflate that with a shootings statistic that includes suicide attempts that take 2/3rds of those non fatal gun related injuries.
From mother jones, a far left liberal website that clearly denotes research methods, criteria for mass shooting. Lists every single attack in the us and its territories right down to the number of fatalities.
Results are from 3 to 10 mass shootings per year where "mass" means 3 or more victims. A far cry from your imagined but politically expedient number of more than one per day.
When you can get your statistics correct and direct and from verifiable sources then it'll be a meaningful discussion. Until then its just a narrative pulled together to match an end that you desire.
In one study, it has been estimated that 31% of public mass shootings occur in the U. S., although it has only 5% of the world's population. CNN cites a study by criminologist A. Lankford that finds that "there are more public mass shootings in the United States than in any other country in the world". The study concludes that "The United States and other nations with high firearm ownership rates may be particularly susceptible to future public mass shootings, even if they are relatively peaceful or mentally healthy according to other national indicators." Criminologist Gary Kleck criticized Adam's findings stating the study fails to provide evidence that gun ownership increases mass shootings. Mass shootings have also been observed to be followed by an increase in the purchase of weapons, but this phenomenon seems to be driven by a minority since neither gun owners nor non-owners report an increased feeling of needing guns. The frequency in which mass shootings occur depends upon definition. In "Behind the Bloodshed", a report by USA Today, said that there were mass killings every two weeks and that public mass killings account for 1 in 6 of all mass killings (26 killings annually would thus be equivalent to 26/6, 4 to 5, public killings per year). Mother Jones listed seven mass shootings, defined as indiscriminate rampages in public places resulting in four or more victims killed, in the U. S. for 2015. The average for the period 2011-2015 was about 5 a year. An analysis by Michael Bloomberg's gun violence prevention group, Everytown for Gun Safety, identified 110 mass shootings, defined as shootings in which at least four people were murdered with a firearm, between January 2009 and July 2014; at least 57% were related to domestic or family violence. This would imply that not more than 43% of 110 shootings in 5.5 years were non-domestic, though not necessarily public or indiscriminate; this equates to 8.6 per year, broadly in line with the other figures. Other media outlets have reported that hundreds of mass shootings take place in the United States in a single calendar year, citing a crowd-funded website known as Shooting Tracker which defines a mass shooting as having four or more people injured or killed. In December 2015, The Washington Post reported that there had been 355 mass shootings in the United States so far that year.
"The problem and the reason?" Your reason is incorrect. There are two reasons. First is how the US treats the mentally ill. People who would be locked up in other countries are roaming free in the US. They are given drugs (side effects include suicide and violence) and allowed out. Nearly every random mass killer over the past 25 years had been prescribed psychiatric drugs. That includes those outside the US. Look it up.
Number two is that the US is a target of Islamic terrorists. They could just as easily use bombs, trucks, and airliners.
What one is left with are a handful of domestic terrorists, some domestic disputes, and people like this Vegas guy (from his change of personality, he may have been suffering from a brain tumor rather than psychosis).
"You can't save yourself with a gun in a mass shooting." That isn't true. There have been MANY situations where a mass killer has started an attack and was stopped by good guys (and a woman) with a gun. A church in Colorado, a terrorist attack in Garland, Texas, a church the other day in Tennessee. You don't hear about these mass killings being stopped by good guys with guns because they stop them before the body count gets high enough to notice.
Your chart is highly misleading. You include suicides as 2/3rds of your "gun violence" deaths. Suicide is not violence, it is a choice. For the people that are actually murdered in the US, over 50% of the murderers are black. If you look at the non-black US murder rate, it is lower than average for OEDC.
You are incorrect in saying people are locked up in other countries. There are some roaming free in UK. Problem is, you cannot convict someone if they have not committed a crime.
"you cannot convict someone if they have not committed a crime. " We don't have to convict someone to lock him up. There are other mechanisms. And in many other countries, there isn't even a guarantee of due process.
Sally, should I even bother trying to explain how I feel about all this? In the few times that you've replied to my posts, you have been nothing but rude and dismissive to me, even after I had acknowledged that I myself had been so towards you, and if I'm not mistaken, apologized for as much, and THEN clearly and calmly explained my position.
Should I bother trying to have a reasonable conversation with you about this?
[I'm sorry, I don't remember you... - the exact conversations you're referring to anyways.] Yes, definitely, put your 2 cents in, just please, make them factual and put some links (that would be very helpful).
I see it and Believe it. However, Most were Terrorist Related Here, dear, and this Newest One, hun, has been said as well, that this Guy with a Try, was ISIS related to them. No Family nor Friend Suspected him, he was this Silencer. "Guns do not Shoot people, People Use Guns to do their Dirty Work, but can also Save Lives that Really Matter."xx
Nope... not even close... Most are not terrorism related. If you've read a word I wrote, you would've known that + check the sources... or read/listen to anything that has scientific and factual merit. I'm sorry, but I can't reason with people who don't take facts as the truth...
And no, the guy has not been related to ISIS. ISIS, if you don't know, wants to take credit for all genocide to make themselves more grandiose... The problem with the world is people who don't research just believing what they want, not what's actually in front of them as evidence.
*Sorry, you were right in a way about terrorism. This guy could be considered a domestic terrorist because he definitely incited terror in people there, but if we're going by the definition of a terrorist they do it for religious or political reasons, which, in this case, wasn't proven... and he most likely did it because he was simply mentally ill.
Good for the US of A. If a mentally ill person did not have access to a gun then he couldn't shoot me. If a non mentally ill person, apparently such as the shooter in Vegas, did not have access to semi-automatic guns then he couldn't shoot 500 people in ten minutes.
I swear, you have no knowledge of guns and crime at all. I am more likely to to die from falling down the stairs than I am to be killed in a mass shooting. I am also more likely to be murdered by a hammer than any rifle.
@Thisperson98, Actually all his guns were obtained legally and were modified again legally to function as full automatic guns. So good luck escaping mass shootings!
@Glue-Sniffer sorry the news kept saying it was a machine gun. But that bump fire stock he had, made it very inaccurate. A semi automatic gun is more lethal than one with a bump fire stock.
I'm an American that is all for the Second Amendment... but I feel one loophole that the USA needs to tighten up, is the screening process of being able to legally obtain a gun license.
Someone with mental health issues, should not be able to legally obtain a firearm.

Excellent take, but these trigger happy folk in US will never listen. I have given up trying to reason with them. So, now, I do not care how many get killed. They are ALL walking around with the Sword of Damocles hanging over their heads. Who is next?
LOL you're never going to convince Americans to adopt gun control, the inbred rednecks are embedded too deep in the culture. They don't care how many people die because the NRA tells them they just don't have enough guns. MORE GUNS! MORE GUNS WILL MAKE US SAFE! HERP A DERP!
I do not think that the word "genocide" means what you think it means and anyway our murder rate is not at all the highest on the planet. There are other countries where guns are legal in fact in Switzerland everyone has to have one (in order to be called to arms if the country is in danger). States with the strictest gun laws also have the highest crime did you know that?
The second amendment will never go away. Nothing that America has banned goes away: drugs and alcohol are two examples. There are millions of guns in America. This is the price of freedom and it's worth it.
I love America. The sad thing is - your government doesn't love you. It would be a beautiful country if Americans saw that, acknowledged that and admitted to themselves that their government does everything for money and nothing for the benefit of it's citizens who they should be looking after. I'm not American and even I am saddened by this.
Also, I think your stats are way off. How did America have 80% of the mass shootings, when the murder rate is FAR lower than it is in almost every country in South/Central America and Africa?
It seems to me like every news item in the UK, about mass shootings, comes from US. We get the odd shooting here, but it is usually no more than one person killed. In US, there seems to be so many.
I do not think there are many outside Europe, either. I do not think you can count countries involved in some sort of conflict. I do not think we can count countries like North Korea. China and Russia are unknown quantities. People just disappear.
@juicyjessie Well, then you shouldn't be saying ''80% out of all the WORLD's mass shootings'', should you? You saying the only countries that count are the countries with strict rules?
Not at all. We hear on the news about shootings in Myanmar, but that is the armed forces. We hear about Boko Haran kidnapping all those schoolgirls. I am convinced if there were mass shootings anywhere in the world, it would appear on the BBC news website at some time.
