The Reason Behind the Syrian War is an Oil/Gas Pipeline, Not a Rebellion Against an Oppressive Regime!

There's a bit of an economic cold war going on with Russia and NATO over military and economic spheres of influence. Russia supplies a lot of oil and gas to Europe so to undermine the Russian economy the Obama lead US government started fracking thus the oil and gas prices dropped and also gave them greater control over OPEC countries.

A proposed US backed pipeline from Qater was turned down by Asad who's rationale for rejecting the Qatar proposal was to be to protect the interests of Syria's Russian ally, which is Europe's top supplier of natural gas.

When Assad turned it down the Obama and the CIA attempted to have him overthrown, then the US special forces started training and arming rebel militias who deceided to join ISIS rather than the US proxy Syrian free army.

Of course Russia has been supporting Assad to defend its economic interests and show it's allies that Russia's is loyal to its allies.

Of course there was also the 2016 coup attempt in Turkey probably a CIA to make sure they could be assured of a friendly more pliable goverment in Turkey giving the intrested parties in the Qatar-Turkey pipeline access to the pipeline infrastructure already in Turkey at a good rate.

There are a lot of different competing interests in Syria right now each with their own agendas. The discovery in 2009 of a new gas field near Israel, Lebanon, Cyprus, and Syria opened new possibilities to bypass the Saudi Barrier and to secure a new source of income. Pipelines are in place already in Turkey to receive the gas. Only Al-Assad is in the way. Qatar along with the Turks would like to remove Al-Assad and install the Syrian chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood. It is the best organized political movement in the chaotic society and can block Saudi Arabia's efforts to install a more fanatical Wahhabi based regime. Once the Brotherhood is in power, the Emir's broad connections with Brotherhood groups throughout the region should make it easy for him to find a friendly ear and an open hand in Damascus.

Right now it looks like Russia and Assad will come out on top of the Syrian war.

Note: I fully recognise no one as unclean in the Syrian war not the NATO, US, Assad, the Russians, ISIS, Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Israel, Jordan etc except the innocent civilians.

It's an ongoing new Cold War. Fighting over control of resources and influence should not be a surprise at all, especially in that part of the world. But there's an even bigger thing at stake here, the global financial system, specifically the Petrodollar system, thus conflicts like these are just simply unavoidable an inevitable. That gas/pipeline running east toward Iran would have serious implications and consequences for the Petrodollar if it were to ever become completed, thus it's a big no-no.

There is no way in the world I would agree that there was a coup attempt against Erodgan. In all likelihood it was just a plot so that he could tighten his grip on the country through his dictatorship. I have been to Turkey. I was nearly run off the road several times because of nationalistic zealots screaming from their vehicles waving their flags.

There are photos of Erodgan and Ataturk everywhere. Its like everyday you have to give thanks to these leaders of be accused of treason. I am sorry, but I could not possibly live in such a society.

But on the Syrian front things sound a bit more plausible. Of course the U. S. interests there are plain. In this new cold war, one of Obama's main weapons against Russia was the price of oil. It seems more likely than not that he was trying to intervene in Syria was because of oil.

But that still does not change the fact that the Syrian people are suffering. Men, women and children.

Iraq was a mixed bag. I think the main reason Iraq happneed was because the invasion of Afghanistan was so short and there was a shortage of military targets for the US military's expensive weapons.
The US has skilfully been enacting regime change all over the world since the 50's and helping US insurgents install friendly goverments. That's the green berets main mission.

The wars are for economic purposes and political power and influence there's absolutely no doubt about it. The "humanitarian" factor is usually complete bogus or exploiting real tragedies for financial gain.

The news media mostly spread the propaganda to justify these invasions, coups and funding of "rebels". Its not surprising few people trust anything the news spews out anymore, because time and time again it turns out a few years after the fact, it was all bullshit to manipulate the masses into voting or supporting some economic or political dominance power play.

Its sad people have to pay with their lives on the whims of our rulers. Its sad people actually can live with themselves after swaying the masses to believe lies to support decisions that end in "collateral damage", thousands of innocents murdered by armed forces. This is the world we live in. Our governments are the bottom feeders of the world in terms of morality, devoid of all empathy or humanitarianism if it doesn't result in profit or gains in power and influence. Everything is ripe to be exploited and marketed. Its a tragedy.

If wars were really fought to liberate people or for humanitarian reasons, there are many places devoid of natural ressources or key positions on trade routes that we would free from terrible oppressive governments. But that simply isn't the case. It is what it is.
That is not to say that some of the things that are said about the oppression people live in in certains parts of the world is not true. But it is most certainly capitalised on to push governmental agendas.

Totally agree, I knew for a while now that the main driving force for war in Syria was a pipeline that the the government or Syrian people don't want. Media never mentions anything about a pipeline, it's always about terrorist and rebels that they fail to mention was funded by the US. @llorando One has to look back at history to get the ENTIRE BIG PICTURE as to why these conflicts are happening. It's more than just "oil". Rather it is the entire global financial system, or currency. Understanding the Petrodollar, it's history, and then things start to make much more sense. These conflicts are inevitable either way. If the mainstream media covered the history about those things, people would become surprised or even shocked.

This isn't new information. This is the same reason why Russia invaded the Ukraine and Georgia.

The reason any country invades another has always, and will always be for the pursuit of national security.

Iraq invaded Kuwait for its oil fields.
US defended Kuwait to maintain control of the oil fields.
Russia invaded Ukraine and Georgia for its pipelines.
and so forth and so forth...

The problem is that while the public enjoys the luxuries that their government provides, it is difficult to use that as a justification to wage war and kill other human beings. The truth is, when you buy cheap food, cheap gas, and lie in bed at night, snug... warm... safe... and with a full belly, that privilege comes at the cost of human lives across the planet.

American history is littered with examples of slaughtering people for their own benefit. But so has every other civilization.

Resources and currency. Looking back at history it does add up because there had been a consistent pattern of things that had occurred, one thing leading into another like a domino effect. There is a MUCH BIGGER picture if you understood what the Bretton Woods Monetary Conference is, what the Nixon Shock is, and more importantly, what the Petrodollar system is and how it is relevant to that region of the world, specifically with OPEC. And in this case, the pipeline disputes have a lot, if not everything, to do with Iran.

Because Iran is another OPEC member that also backed out of the Petrodollar agreement, and decided to re-price their oil from exclusively in US dollars to other means of payment and trade, such as Euros. They weren't the first, the same goes for Iraq, Libya, and even more recently Venezuela.

Glad to see someone else seeing this but what is the solution?
First step is anyone who isn't Syrian needs to get out of Syria. That means both Russia AND the US.
Step 2 divide Syria into EU/US style federation where local governments have all the power and central/federal government has very little power, specially over personal lives of people.
There is absolutely no reason for people this diverse to be in a country this large ruled by one person or political party. Even if the person is good, they can't possibly know the needs of every small community as well as a local government will. Of course, to do this Daesh needs to be beaten and for that I propose one last hurrah joint strike by US, Russia and the actual Syrian army.

A war against Venezuela doesn't seem to be the next thing that's going to happen, but I heard some thing about sanction again, again, that's not a surprise, happened to Iran too for the same reasons. Also heard something about a CIA intervention, so it's also not a surrprise that had been mentioned around the same time frame when Venezuela decide they don't want to accept the US dollar as future payments for their oil transactions:

I'm sure oil is a factor, big what really fuels these wars in the middle east is various group's absolute hatred of each other. Assad and his gang are Alawite Muslims, who are in power, but are a minority group in Syria, and they have ties with Shiites in Iran. The rebels, or whatever you call them, are Sunni Muslims, who make up the majority. The Assad family and the Alawites have been shitting on the Sunnis in Syria since day one. The thing is, if the Sunnis come into power, they'll probably become an 'Islamic Republic', and you know where that's going to go. Either way, Syria will be a toilet.

@oddwaffle Iraq was more so because of the "Pricing" of Oil rather than the oil itself. Ever heard of the "Petrodollar"? Or how about the Bretton Woods System? Or the Nixon Shock? The moment Saddam Hussein announced he would end all of Iraq's oil trades in dollars and demanded Euros only as means of payment is a violation of the original agreement that OPEC had made with the US to price all of their oil sales exclusively in dollars, and thus he signed his own death warrant by making such a political (and dumbass) move.

@oddwaffle The long term consequences would result in massive inflation of the dollar, it had suffered inflation some time after the Vietnam War, and because of the significant amount of deficits it resulted in the event known as the "Nixon Shock". @oddwaffle But imagine massive inflation, such as an average cost for a loaf of fresh bread which is $2.55 right now becoming something that cost like 100 times ($255) maybe much more than that price.

It would be just like how hyperinflation was in Weimar Republic or Zimbabwe. But there are enough measures to keep it from going into that and it won't happen immediately. That's where military might comes in, to ensure OPEC members never violate the agreement and back out of exclusively accepting the dollar as means of payment. Exclusive guarantees need to use and demand, it's a supply and demand thing. When the demand is growing, then the supply can keep going, meaning print as much dollars demanded and needed.

After the Nixon Shock gold was de-linked from the dollar, and if you look at the cost of an ounce of gold today it's WAY MORE than (over a $1000) when it was still attached to the dollar where $35 is equal to an ounce of gold.

@oddwaffle My point is if they left it as it is with Iraq or any other oil producing nation backing out of the exclusively accepting dollars for oil arrangement on the international market, then when worst comes worst a whole new Great Depression or perhaps even worse. Things are going to become chaotic and even a greater disaster. Like I said about inflation, things had gotten more expensive but it's still manageable, for now, at least.

Imagine if everything cost way more because of hyperinflation, like 100 dollar or more for a bottle of water or 80 dollar a gallon for gasoline, etc., then our way of life will never be the same again, it would no longer be merely just manageable anymore, at least not for a very long time.

Everything would be changed forever. There would no longer be easy, comfy, or even secure way of life we're all so used to and take for granted.

Money, but specifically, Currency.

Stability and survival. Resources. Those are the reasons behind it all.

But rather, it is the "Pricing of oil", which is essentially what the current global financial system is. Or to put it simply, "currency".

Our dollar is essentially "backed" by the world's oil supply from OPEC countries, ever since it no longer has the gold backing ever when former president Richard Nixon had de-linked and removed the gold backing of the US dollar back in August 15, 1971.

So instead, he made important arrangements with OPEC to exclusively price all of their oil sales in US dollars, this is known as the "Petrodollar" system.

In other words, if oil were to be traded globally in ANYTHING OTHER than US dollars, such as a basket of currencies, or if other nations begin to trade in and accept each others currencies without using the US dollars, it will cause instability to our economy, things are going to get more expensive over time, all because of inflation. They printed so many dollars because of that "Petrodollar" system.
