-The 1970 Kent State Shootings, probably the biggest factor.

-KSU is a liberal college in a state full of moderate, and/or conservative colleges.

-KSU has a "party school" reputation, and nobody takes their academics seriously.

-KSU is located in a boring area.

KSU probably has the worst reputation in Ohio, and very little of that has to do with the "Gun Girl."

Well, I mean, there is some evidence that suggests at least some men are inherently rapists - judging by the fact that we know there was a significant amount of rape in our genetic past and that women's bodies actually respond to aggression as though they might be raped, at a biological level. That gives credence to the idea that all men are rapists and choose not to.

By that same token, we can make a similar claim that all humans are murderers but choose not to for moral reasons. And a host of other crimes. So it's not that great of a concept but valid nonetheless.

And I agree with you that a lot of so-called Feminists who are more public than others tend to give them all a bad name.

Biology has given both men and women testosterone as a hormonal drive to procreate and further our generations via progeny. Men have higher levels which feed into our traditional roles of being provides and protectors. While this male aggression is often unnecessary in most developed countries, most WOMEN are still attracted to it. I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Also we have a free imagination with boundless creative options both positive and negative. Unless you think that Georgie Orwell’s 1984 is a safer alternative to society It would be a crime against humanity to limit that. But calling a man a “rapist” because he fantasizes about some girl he saw in bikini is just plain assisine. If you can label him that, you can label lots of people lots of things.

Well, I told you it's rational to think it's possible rape might have been used in the past as a viable reproductive strategy for humans. We've got some evidence for this. So logically, there is some portion of the population who are genetically predisposed to want to rape people.

I'm not saying this is a thing. I'm not saying it's a reason to vilify all men. I'm suggesting that you are being dismissive of an idea that has scientific validity simply because you don't like it. That is, you're getting emotional about it.

A better approach would be to acknowledge it and demonstrate why it doesn't matter. Which you've done. :)

@HungLikeAHorsefly I can see vantage point of rape being a psychological driver among a small percentage of men for reproduction needs thousands of years ago. I read a statistic that 20 percent of women orgasm during rape and a higher percentage of them get sexually aroused. At first this made absolutely no sense to me, but the biological reaction can help prevent vaginal injury.

However most men are born with empathy to female emotions and understand the ramifications of what emotional trauma can do to a woman. They can understand that a physically/emotionally abused women may not be a good mother to their offspring. This is not new, chivalry arose hundreds of years ago long before modern society.

I got angry because the phrase “all men are rapist but choose morally not to do so” can a strong underlying misandric tone whether it is discussed civilly or emotionally. I can’t agree with that particular crass and asinine statement no matter what context it is used in.
