Why you don't understand what "white privilege" actually is

That's right, minorities exist.

I've read more than one sad cultural Marxist article about how white people don't get profiled by the police, or how white people see themselves represented on TV and so on. The whole sad attempt to analyze the situation boils down to "it's all because of racism and white supremacy" . A laughable analysis I know seeing all the racism and white supremacy white people could muster could never have that amount of impact. It would blow up in our faces and we would fail so hard in the court of public opinion we ourselves would end up in a ghetto.

No, what you're dealing with here is not mere "white supremacy" it's the result of living as a MINORITY the oppression or what ever you want to call it is automatic. Everything, from not having a band aid in your skin tone to not seeing your face on TV stems from the poisonous environment caused by so called multiculturalism.

The answer to this is not more poison , white guilt, riots, making someone else the majority, the problem will remain. As has been said, if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got. What we need is to go back to that natural way that we as a species abandon. The way of the racial and cultural harmony of the ethnic state. Back then it took something like the Mongols or the Romans to disrupt your society, nothing short of out right invasion and subjugation could cause your downfall as a people. Other than that you fought against only nature , drought, disease and so on. Remember , there is no utopia, life is hard, people suffer, people die. Let's stop making it harder on ourselves with these multicultural lies we live in and reclaim the very useful tools we dropped in the dust in the stupor of a very bad idea. Those tools helped us to fight off oppression of all kinds, even the dreaded racism people cry about day and night would loose it's bite as soon as the border went up.

I'm not white (I'm half Latino/Native American and half white/European), and my skin is brown, but I am not discriminated against due to race, even in the South. Why? Because I can speak well, I'm polite, friendly, and I'm not offended by every tiny thing.

That's not to say that I've never experienced racism, but I know that it has been just a few individuals, and not whole groups of people.

Most of the people I see who complain about discrimination have a bad attitude, don't think society's rules should apply to them, and think that the world owes them something. Again, I'm not saying that there aren't real racists or that racism isn't a real problem, but instead of following MLK's example of rising above it, way too many people are way too fast to fight over it, verbally or physically, and that almost always makes things worse for everyone.

I've mostly lived in non white arias I've experienced a lot of racism against me but it was about as big a deal as sand in my shoe if it amounted to that. No one beat me up, no one threw me in an oven and I'm here today just fine. I saw a lot of racism against other people of different races than mine but they blew it off too, we even joked about it. A minor human ill 90% of the time and something that will never go away as long as races of people are in contact with each other. It's the left that is inflaming racism with their finger pointing and lies. They want race hate so they can get others to do their dirty work for them.

If there is only one race present, then there can be no racial privilege and no racism. I'm a proud Latina <3 I live in California where we Latinos are practically the majority but treated with equality. Have you ever have to worry that a cop might take out a gun just because you are black or Latino and you look "suspicious"... that in itself white priviledge. I did a presentation on white privelege... I go to USC and getting my masters in social work. It's a very interesting topic and can be controversial. The idea of white privilege is not to blame white people, but to bring awareness that whites having privilege can strip away the rights of others. We should strive to work together to unify our nation and push towards multiculturalism and acceptance.

At the same time, God made me brown and I don't question his creation. You might want to consult with the Creator upstairs lol... not me. He didn't make no junk or mistake when he made me or any person of color. Black, brown, yellow, red are beautiful :-) The world is what needs to change their hearts and be more accepting. It's the system on the macro level that I believe needs to challenged and better programs for "minorities." I stand up for people's rights and giving humans dignity and worth.

Being white won't give you privilege , what you call white privilege is majority privilege. If there were no white people around the problem would disappear. No whites, no privilege. I'm pro multiculturalism tho. I know it is not perfect, but I like the idea of living among different cultures, religion, etc. What you said about basically eliminating the majority or minority would be risky, but I really appreciate the fact you recognize that the system we live is failing ethnic minorities. It's not about blaming or guilt tripping whites... like you said. Unfortunately, people in power are not so easily willing to give it up. The owners of the multi national corporations and banks. These people are the ones who buy the politicians. Their ultimate goal is "smart cities" where everything is connected to the internet. They make it sound like a paradise where your refrigerator orders your food for you but it's not going to be like that. Your refrigerator will tell you how much food you can have and what kind. Your TV will tell you what you can watch and when. These smart cities won't be some paradise of the future, they will be confined animal feeding operations for human farming. Multiculturalism is another one of their tricks, they don't want multiculturalism they want the races to melt together to get rid of them, they want a confused slave race with no roots. You said you were a proud Latina, that won't exist anymore, their won't be any races or cultures for anyone to be proud of. Only slaves kept in a stupor surviving on rations of bad food laced with who knows what. If I wanted to learn to play the piano for instance I would have to follow what my instructor said , that's a hierarchy but a necessary and beneficial one. If a thug points a gun at me and demands my wallet, I have to follow his orders or be shot. Also a hierarchy but unnecessary and not beneficial to society or to the individuals living within it. So I would say , I want to eliminate that kind of hierarchy.

@zagor the educational system is the worst for people of color. There are schools still lacking resources (i. e. books, teachers to student ratio, etc.) where the majority of people of color attend. This is still happening in the 21st century in a 1st world country. If you look at it at the macro level, whites have better access to better education. Class/high economical status is correlated to higher quality of education, which the majority of whites pertain to. This allows whites to go to better schools and allows them to succeed throughout generations.

Racism doesn't have to be in your face. It can also be systematic oppression, which keeps people of color at the bottom. Our prison system even disproportionately locks up people of color at a higher rate. The United states is found on the principle of pulling yourself from the bootstraps, which is unfair to most people of color. Asians are seen as the model minority, which affects others. We get called lazy, criminals, etc. if we fail to achieve in society.

The list can go on... racism still exists and unless you have experienced, you wouldn't understand it.

@Sweetascandy1990 I agree with you that there is great inequality in our schools systems, but it is income and class based, not race-based - I remember visiting a school in South Central L. A. and being appalled at the physical conditions there. Do you think Will Smith's kids had a difficult time getting an education due to their race? Yes, certain ethnic minorities are a disproportionate percentage of disadvantaged classes, but that is not the same as "having to work twice as hard to get to the same place". I know it is probably difficult to do well in school when your biggest concern is getting safely to and from it from home, but that is not (in a significant ratio) due to fear of attack from white racists, but to gangs of the same ethnicities.

I am aware that racism still exists, that it can be disheartening to be followed in stores by security or pulled over by police for no apparent reason other than your appearance. But too many people blame "white privilege" ( which really should be called "targeted minority disadvantage") for their own failures in life.

@zagor I have to respectfully disagree. Will Smith and others who have achieved that success are the minority. Yeah there are a lot of successful people who have made it. I'm the first in my family to graduate high school and pursue higher education, but not a lot people in my neighborhood were able to succeed. I broke generational "curses" in my family as well. It doesn't mean that my people are lazy or failed. I don't see it that way. It wasn't their failure.

I believe that sometimes as a person of color we internalize the racism and believe we cannot achieve more. We take in the stereotypes that we are not smart enough or essentially not good enough. I had a hard time for a long believing in myself. That maybe I should not raise my hand in class full of whites because whites seemed more articulate and what not. Because I achieved "success" my future children will have the opportunity to have access to better quality of education. Race and class very much go hand in hand. I know it is cliche, but education is key to for success. This is where minority children are disproportionately not given equal opportunity for high quality of education. This is a very debated topic.

Minority celebrities have talked about this too. Women of color are given the least paying roles in hollywood. Unfortunately, certain stereotypes are attached to the color of your skin. This perpetuates people of color to stay in the bottom with some exceptions of course. A person of color can have the same qualifications as a white person, but whites are more likely to be hired.

This certainly was the case 60 years ago, but no one is excluded from consideration for admission to a college these days due to their color, and in fact minority status can be an advantage at times in those instances.

@zagor Intersectionality is a term that we use to describe the levels of oppression. Race, class, gender, etc. we can play all day and see who is more oppressed when we add them all. Yes, there are low-income whites who struggle. Affirmative action programs is great to level out the inequality... I agree.

When we take a closer look, it becomes more complicated. For example, I have a classmate who is white and low-income. She was also the first in her family to go to college. We both have a learning disability. Same story different races. We took the same internship together. Her experience was different than mine. I was sexually harassed by one of the employees because he thought Latinas were good in bed. I got yelled at by the CEO (Veteran who has PTSD) unfairly who was white as well and compared me to my collegue. Essentially he thought she was smarter. He kinda looked upset that I was in the program. It bothered him that I had a higher level of education and would mention how affirmative action shouldn't exist and whites privilege doesn't exist. That kinda made me uncomfortable that he pointed that out in that setting. My internship was unpaid, so I was working for him basically for free. I felt like I was working twice as hard than my collegue, yet my work was never good enough to hers. My collegue mentioned to me that she felt priviledged. I worked with all whites at my internship. I found myself trying to advocate not only for patients in my field, but also for myself. My white collegue told me that she recognized her white privilege. I'm Latina, so I will always have labels that go against me.

Even in good schools like USC and ivy league schools you here how you have white people in power who have used their status to get their children into these schools.

I hold strong beliefs that race and class go hand in hand not only based on my experieces, but based on qualitative and quantitative research studies that show this. It gets more complicated when you add gender, disability, etc. I'm glad programs exists for us because everyone whites, blacks, latinos, etc. deserve human dignity, respect and equal chance to succeed. @Sweetascandy1990 Actually I gave upt the teaching gig - almost impossible to get a tenure track position in community colleges here. They take advantage of part-timers; I heard of one teacher who was PT at four different community colleges to try to make ends meet.

I understand that there are still a lot of individuals who make assumptions, big or small, about people based on their ethnicity. Although I may miss a lot of it as a white guy, I also hear some of it that a non-white person may not, as some people are not upfront about their prejudices.

At a certain point, the disadvantages of previous racism are countered, there are no more excuses for failure to perform, and the racial division industry must shutter its doors. . . unless you keep it all alive with the concept of white privilege.

One of the problems with "white privilege" is that minorities will never set an articulable, definable, and measurable goal when we can say that the vestiges of racism have been erased. There will never be enough compensation and reparations for people who see an opportunity to milk the cash cow.

And we haven't even mentioned a political party which wants to keep minorities down on the plantation so the minorities will be forever beholden to the part that gives them the handouts.

You're right - I don't understand what "white privilege" is. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Here's the deal: I'm white. Yet the people of color I know say white privilege exists. But I'm white. So I don't really know what it's like to not be white. In fact, I don't know what it's like to be anybody other than me. I don't have the perspective they do. I'm not presumptuous enough to say their experience is wrong because I haven't noticed it.

I grew up with a close friend who is African American and who is now a lawyer for the NAACP. He says white privilege exists. My wife's best friend is a Caribbean American woman. She says white privilege exists. A bunch of guys I work with and volunteer with are black men. They say it exists. I lived with a black family for two years when I first moved to Oregon; they say it exists. My brother-in-law is a civil rights attorney in El Paso who works extensively with the Latino community; he says it exists. They don't complain about it, or whine or claim racism or anything like that, but they do acknowledge it definitely exists.

So in my worldview, all the people who say white privilege exists are people I know and trust, while all the people who say otherwise are... white people who wouldn't really know one way or the other. I don't really see it, but again I'm white so I wouldn't see it. I'm comfortable not understanding and taking people's word for it.

The rate at which white people vs. Asian people vs black people are pulled over by the police seems to suggest that minority status alone doesn't explain it.

There are a lot of variables at play. Not the least of which is that we have learned to ignore differences in race. Asians have even less problems with police than whites even if you adjust for numbers. Black people have higher testosterone and a larger low IQ population. Living crammed together like we do has made us afraid to even discuss such things as possible factors. We've taken living things that evolved to survive in environments thousands of miles apart who's adaptations we do not understand and dumped them into complex societies together. Then we've expected nothing to happen with this witches brew we've created. When it starts smoking and bubbling we scream "racist" at it as if that will make it stop. I once was riveted on a cultural story, of my own Indian heritage that scared me to the heavens.

Things that make life scarier than thinking about racism:

1. NASA has identified some asteroid that ok yes can be intercepted and possibly diverted from collision to earth , so they started their series of tests with an asteroid ☄️ simulated experiment off into the seas.

2. Our Hindu religion had predicted the world clock and cycle, as in phases of morality and human conscience, coincide in 3-4 phases. The phase of kalyug is present. The phase of all world anhilation and a time of destruction.
That coincides with the doomsday clock ( similarly postulated by western civilization). We are 3-4 minutes from both hands on 12. That is also total worldly annihilation.
