I am former law enforcement and military, it is customary and proper to call "Sir or "Ma'am" Regardless..

You usually do this, for someone who is going on a trip, or even leaving your humble abode.

- When do you kiss hello or hug hello? When do you shake hands?
shake hands for business, strangers (except family) kiss hello to close friends, and family
- What are the basic guidelines for sharing your life on social media?
People share almost anything and everything. People need some filter

- What is the best way to cancel a date?
Tactfully. and HONESTLY....

- Who should pay for a meal on a date?
Im old school the guy..

- Is it ever acceptable to throw a BYOB (‘bring your own beverage’) party?
To me, everyone likes a beer, wine, sangria. So it is up to the drinker.

- How long does someone have to respond to an RSVP?
As soon as possible. Food Prep usually is the key factor

- Is it on the host to ask or on the guest to share dietary restrictions?
Guest. Food allergies are no fun.

We've done both and I am sick of it. I'm the type of person that is old school, traditional, and very respectful. I never understood people who does not know how to have proper etiquette anymore. And yet I'm the one that gets made fun of being told that I think act like an old person. And from what I gather people here are just flat-out rude.

Nice take! I agree with all of them except the hug/kiss/handshake. I've taught my daughter to use her manners but I don't require her to hug/kiss even family members unless she chooses. I do not make her shake hands but she does say proper goodbyes-- nice to meet you/thank you for having us, etc.

Thanks for sharing a very well written MyTake. Myself i am old school
so i believe in having manners and i respect people for coming from a
broken up family i have come out pretty good. The only bad habit i have
is cigarette smoking but never done drugs , never drank alcohol. Best Wishes:)

I say sir or ma'am when talking to people whobare older than me. Other than close family like my mom, dad and grandparents.
I always hold the door if someone is close behind me and I think that its a nice thing to do
I only hug hello tbh
I don't use much social media except this and youtube
Whoever invites the other out should pay in my opinion but it would be nice if the guy offered to pay
I think the guest should mention something
