Telling kids gay people exist =/= turning them gay. Calling gay people "pedos" is classic homophobia, really bringing out the hits there.
We're not trying to turn kids gay. We want to tell them that gay people exist, so they if they or someone they love eventually realises they're gay, they understand it.

We're not talking about teaching little kids about sex. That's a lie propogated by people who hate us. We should teach younger kids that gay people exist ("sometimes there are two mummies or two daddies"), nothing explicit.
Learning through life experience is not good enough. I almost took my own life as a kid because I thought I was the only person in the world like me. We can't rely on life experiences to teach kids what gay identity is. We don't rely on life experience to teach kids how to do maths, or anything like that. Teaching them about gay people would be one lesson, and it could save lives.
@ElleBelle35 I asked "Are they pedos" if you can read. Disney is pushing this stuff onto little kids. Kids are smart, they learn quickly. Adults should not push any agenda to anyone. I don't hate anyone. Straight people should not push sex ed to little kids either, no one should.

I'm talking about teaching kids simply all that exists and that all these different types are equally acceptable and valuable and none is inferior to the other. There's no encouragement to "become" anything, not in terms of sexual orientation or gender identity or whatever, just letting them know that whatever they do end up realizing they are, is equally valuable and acceptable to anything else.
These are such important messages to teach kids, because it can prevent them from future (or even already current) psychological distress. A main reason why young teenagers who happen to not be straight or cis, suffer so much, is because they grow up thinking there's something wrong with them.
How it isn't painfully obvious to everyone how EXTREMELY important it is to teach kids these things, is beyond me. But I'm not gonna have a debate about this. Guess what, I'm a highschool biology teacher, so I'm not just talking out of my ass. Good thing I don't live in fucking Florida or some reactionary shithole like that.
