Some Independence Day Poetry,

what Independence Day means for mE.

on July fourth, twenty-twenty thrEE.

happy Birthday U.S. our country.

Poem rhyme (for July 4, 2023):

Independence Day we had fun,
barbecued franks in the bright sun

relating to it, is easy
ate 20 franks now i'm queasy

but this day also has meaning
escape from a British, mean king

voters are not needed to stay king
he can ignore when We need something

the Parliaments chose, which heir has power
but he made our lives, far worse than sour

too much power in one person is Wrong
needed balance, and checks that block the strong

we have a Government that manages
but each part is weak with their balances

not replace far-king with a local king
switching that would barely change, Anything.

swap bad for wise is two accomplishments
so enjoy your franks and your, dessert mints.
