In my vision of an ideal government, it's all about finding natural leaders who can compete in specific contests—designed to test competency and supremacy in various skillsets—to become king.

The king would never make decisions alone. He's got a council of princes who can veto him at any point. And, the people get to have their say every year, voting on whether the king stays or goes.

Now, here's the cool part: if there's a war, the king isn't sitting on a throne somewhere. Nope, he's right there on the battlefield, leading the charge. No excuses, no hiding behind a desk "strategizing". There would be a dozen princes waiting to run the country. So if the king does die in battle, it's a smooth transition.

There would be an annual vote on if the king or any of the princes should be removed from office and replaced. Bad princes could be jailed, beaten, or executed depending on the circumstances. Punishment dissuaded corruption.

Imagine a monarchy that's not based on an old traditions and family bloodlines, but a dynamic force that makes the whole country feel alive. It's like having a real-life superhero in charge, making headlines and keeping everyone on their toes.

Then you need to get your head out your tiny ass and give your brain some fucking oxygen. Your "vision" doesn't mean shit, there are no such things as "natural leaders". All leaders are made, not born.

Also a king is such by bloodline, alliance or marriage - nothing else. You're thinking of emperors, not kings.

Kings are kings because they make the final decisions. You're confusing the workings of a senate with a monarchs government.

A king is the head of the state and the people, hence doesn't often go into battle at it's head. Also, you need to study history, as princes often killed each other to inherit the fathers throne. Also, the king would have a bastard or two to muddy the waters too.

You cannot mix a monarchy with a government in the way you're thinking, you need to lay off the crack, and get that crack in your head examined.

Trump is too much of a criminal to be king of anything.

Princes would be selected as winners of the annual games but can't be king because there's already one. They'd basically be kings who can't do anything yet but stop the current king from making bad decisions. And there'd be about 12.

What is with Europeans from monarchies and thinking having a king is a good idea?

I know you grew up in a country that teaches you the virtues of royalty. But a King is just a dictator with a inherited line of succession. Which frankly is even worse than some intelligent process to try an identify a remotely qualified person to follow you.

Both systems are terrible precisely because we can't reliably agree upon much less pick a "good" leader. Assuming you could ever pick one at all. This problem only gets worse as a country gets larger and more diverse with conflicting interests.

No wonder nobody reads Time magazine anymore. We do not have a perfect government but the founding fathers tried hard to make sure we had a system of checks and balances. It worked fairly well until recently. Thr news media and big tech were allowed to become too influential in our elections. Years ago there was a limit on how many TV and Radio stations one entity could own. This made more competition and a wider variety of points of view. Now 90% of TV and radio stations are owned by two companies. With the advent of cable and streaming services it makes it more of a monopoly.

- The US is producing more total energy than at any point ever. - Trump made more money from China WHILE President than Hunter Biden made as the son of a vice president.
