There IS such a thing as masculinity and there ARE masculine jobs.

There IS such a thing as masculinity and there ARE masculine jobs.

I'm ready to rile some peeps with this one.

There IS such a thing as masculinity and there ARE masculine jobs.

I'm just quoting people directly from my previous post:

What jobs do you consider masculine?

I'm just getting a little sick of hearing people say stuff along the lines of:

"Jobs are concepts and do not have gender."

or

"I don't think jobs really have a gender anymore"

or

"I don’t see jobs as masculine or feminine. It is just whether or not they want to do them."

or

"In my opinion, and I know that many people on here will disagree with me, jobs have nothing to do with masculinity."

Here are the facts in physiological differences between men and women:

Muscle Mass: Men have higher muscle mass and more type 2 (fast twitch) muscle fibers

Hormones: Men have higher levels of testosterone which promotes muscle growth

Bone Density: Men have higher bone density and larger bone size, which provides better support for muscle attachment and leverage

Body Composition: Men have a higher percentage of lean body mass

Hemoglobin Levels: Men have higher levels of hemoglobin, allowing for better oxygen transport to muscles

Ligaments and Tendons: Men generally have thicker and stronger ligaments and tendons

Metabolism: Men have a high basal metabolic rate

Upper Body Strength: Men have significantly great upper body strength, often 30-50% stronger than women

Lower Body Strength: Men generally have a stronger lower body than women, but the difference is less pronounced compared to upper body strength (probably because men tend to not workout their legs whereas women focus on them)

Collagen: Men have higher collagen densityin muscles and connective tissues, which contributes to overall strength and recovery. Higher collagen also means you bruise less easily and your skin heals faster

Skin: Men's skin is thicker, providing better protection and possibly influencing overal durability in physical activities

Fat Distribution: Men tend to store fat around the abdomen, which is less of an impediment to physical perfomance than in other areas of their body

Cardiovascular System: men have greater heart size and great cardiac output, enhancing physical performance

Lung Capacity: Men have a great lung capacity and higher VO2 max, allowing for better oxygen intake and utilization during exercise

Sweat Glands: Men more sweat glands, aiding in better thermoregulation during intense physical activities

Joint Structure: Men generally have tighter joint structures, providing better stability, especially for heavy lifting

That's just physical differences, but we're very different in our brains as well. I can go on and on with the list, but there might be a whole book you can write with this stuff. Clearly though, men are meant for more physical tasks. So when people say there's no such thing as masculine and feminine jobs, that's a ridiculous notion. Sure nowadays there are lots of types of technology and machinery that aid in the work and there are women in masculine fields, but they will always be in the minority.

It's all in the statistics. If there are no masculine or feminine jobs, then they should have approximately the same ratio of men and women in them, no? By definition, if something is primarily related to males, that makes it masculine and if something is primarily related to females, that would make it feminine. We have had equality in terms of jobs for a while now, so females can choose to work these jobs if they want to, but I wonder why they don't. There must be a reason, right? Here are some stats on the percentage of men in specific fields.

Construction worker --> 97%

Firefighter --> 96%

Mechanic --> 98%

Police Officer --> 87%

Military Personnel --> 84%

Electrician --> 96%

Welder --> 96%

Carpenter --> 97%

Pilot --> 93%

Plumber --> 97%

Truck Driver --> 91%

Engineer --> 85%

Logger --> 97%

Miner --> 88%

Heavy Equipment Operator --> 97%

Oil Rig Worker --> 96%

Dockworker/Stevedore --> 95%

Blacksmith --> 96%

Machinist --> 91%

Roofer --> 97%

Security Guard --> 78%

Fisherman --> 96%

Farmer --> 72%

HVAC Technician --> 98%

Locksmith --> 95%

Who would you rather have as a bodyguard? A man or a woman? Who would you trust more in a fire situation? A man or a woman? Who would you rather have enforce the law? Men or women? Who would you put your money on in a fight? A man or a woman?

Like come on people. Grow out of the woke nonsense! There are physiological differences between the biology of men and women. I'm not saying that women CAN'T do the jobs. I'm saying that men can generally do physical jobs better.

Just to even the playing field, women are better than men in some areas as well. It's proven that they have better verbal skills and language abilities, higher emotional intelligence, better at multitasking (so don't hate on your man for not being able to multitask as well as you), fine motor skills and dexterity (probably why there tends to be a correlation of women to arts), memory, social cognition, greater attention to detail and accuracy in tasks, and better at spatial MEMORY (not sense) and remembering where objects are located.

So I'm not hating on women. I just think we're better at different things.

There IS such a thing as masculinity and there ARE masculine jobs.
