Americans don't know how to improve their democracy or their country because they didn't have to work for it.

Most of the progress going from monarchies and all powerful chruches to democracies happened in Europe. The U.S. had the luck to be founded right when people were already 90% towards democracy but they didn't have to break down old power structures and replace them with better ones. The only monarchy they had to fight was on the other side of the ocean, and back then it was a lot harder to communicate, supply and reinforce armies across an ocean. That's a lot different than having a king in your own country who's family has been in power for hundreds of years and who has an army ready that can fight easily since they're in their own country.

I don't think you can really appreciate all the small steps it took, the different writers and philosphers who thought about what it means to be human, what rights you should have, what the purpose of the government is etc. Then the people who shared those ideals and pushed for them fought for them and passed down those ideas to the next generation and slowly over time the public consciousness shifted. The people fought for democracy against monarchies and then they fought for workers rights against factory owners in the industrialisation. All this history has been passed down and some people know what to look out for so that these kind of situations don't happen again. But if you look at what working for amazon is like I don't think the same public consciousness exists for you.

Americans love to talk about fighting the government and people in power with their guns but in reality you are not actually good at standing up to power. Real change is not created by citizens with guns because you will never beat a well trained and well funded military plus the police. What matters is how many people will stand together at the critical moment like what just happened in South Korea. They said even if I get shot or arrested I'm not letting my country go down this path again and they won. You have to make people in charge start to worry that they'll lose and about the consequences when they do. That's when they'll back down.

She told the soldier "Arent you embarassed and ashamed of what youre doing?"
She told the soldier "Aren't you embarassed and ashamed of what you're doing?"

Americans let their unions be crushed, your minimum wage is 7.25 an hour, you have health insurance companies that intentionally kill people on a large scale, you have a government system that is completely corrupt and doesn't represent you. Everybody knows these things but nobody does anything. Only 6% of private sector workers are in a union we can take that as a good indicator of how well you're doing in fighting back against companies doing whatever they want. It's not going well.

And when people do rise up in a meaningful way then they get crushed by the media, by the police, they'll use any means necessary and then life just goes on like nothing happened. There is nothing more valuable than the privileges that were earned by our ancestors. But you let them take all the important ones away because you never understood their true value. You never understood where your society will end up if you don't fight back against greed.

There are people standing up but theyre usually easily ignored

The guns are like a little pacifier for you. They let you keep your guns because they know you're never going to unite and stand up in a meaningful way. It gives you the illusion of having some control while they exploit you. In reality using violence just makes any movement easier to crush. It's not about how violent you can be it's about how much violence you can take from the other side and still stand up for what you want. The civil rights movement did show how it's done but what has happened since then? There hasn't been a big movement that has improved the life of poor and middle class people in a long time. There have been attempts but they have all failed.

When the January 6th uprising happened they weren't fighting for anything meaningful. They were upholding the political system that subjugates them they just wanted the other guy to win. The government will never have to use the military against you because they already own you in your mind. They have you so well trained. All your responses to any given situation will never lead to any change in the end. All you're here for is to work and consume, work and consume. This makes you powerful as a country but you are powerless inside your country.

Americans dont know how to improve their democracy or their country because they didnt have to work for it.

The killing of this healthcare CEO is just a sign of how powerless people feel. Because the next CEO will do the same thing, he'll just hire more bodyguards.

Since there are a lot of americans posting on this site I write a lot about you in answer to what I read. I hope my posts do provide some kind of value or a new perspective and are not just annoying.
