I got a letter from social security today and it said “we changed your monthly benefit to $734.00 as of January 2018. We found that your prior amount was incorrect. We cannot pay you monthly benefits at this time. I’m confused. Why would they say they are changing my benefits and then saying they cannot pay me monthly benefits at the same time. It can’t be both it only makes sense to be one or the other. Anyone have any idea what this means or can make sense out of this letter?
