Why are female pedophiles judged less than male pedophiles?

Women's sexuality is seen as a gift. So even if the receiver is a child and a victim of rape, there is a societal expectation that the victim isn't actually a victim, but the blessed chosen. Some people even openly exclaim that it's not a crime because the child must have enjoyed it.
Ironically, this is related to the reason women are slut shamed. A woman who gives away her sex easily and/or often appears to value it less than society does.
Men's sex is valued at all. We're widely portrayed as indiscriminate, sex-obsessed monsters, and not very good at sex either. Therefore, our sex is a punishment, even for people who love us. Men who attempt sex with a minor are punished more harshly than women who actually rape children, in many cases.

Simply put, because the penis is an appendage, while the vagina is not.

Because the penis is the penetrative genital, it is seen as more "damaging" if a male sexually abuses someone, than someone with a vagina doing the same thing.

Sad but true, I wish this wasn't the case! This stigma against men is so unfair.

Female pedophiles are very rare so you just hear people talk less about them. But the ones that exist I hate them as much as male pedophiles. One reason could be that at least girls still can look quite mature at a young age but boys take much longer time to mature. I mean, the news of babies as young as 28 weeks get raped and murdered by men but compared to that how many women do really try to molest a 28 weeks old infant?

I think that generally, they do (most teenage boys want sex most the time). I had quite a cross section of male friends in middle and high school, and they all were (or were wanting to) fuck someone their age or an older woman. Every kid I knew wanted to do our 7th grade English teacher. And I was one of them.

So my point is that there are more consenting underage boys than there are girls. And if you're an attractive horny 23 yo secondary ed teacher, some will cross that line. But I do understand the importance equal justice. They have to be punished if they cross that line.

We should have a thread on Uni professors fucking their students. That was rampant in the '70s and very demoralizing for some of the male students...

I'm sure they exist but I've not really heard much about any female pedophiles, much less them being punished less severely. If you mean all of the school teachers having sex with their students, that's not a "pedophile". Pre-pubescent children make someone a pedophile, not teenage minors.

In this aspect women are seen as more vulnerable. If an underage guy (say 15 y/o) hooks up with an adult woman (say 25 y/o), other guys (usually their age) congratulate him, and it's considered an achievement. Can you say them same if the roles are reversed? No. I'm not saying it's good by any means. It's psychologically bad for either sex in that situation. It affects the way they view relationships from that point forward.

The term "pedophile" is often erroneously applied.

When actually applied correctly, the reason they're less harshly judged is because many, many people have foolishly decided that male sexuality is inherently dangerous whereas female sexuality isn't. Girls get slut-shamed (sometimes for good reason), but they're never, ever thought of as deviant or dangerous. Only us boys are. So, is that logical? No. But it is what it is; no one seems to want to challenge it openly.
