So I understand and appreciate the whole body positivity thing. That being said I mean a healthy natural body which is in shape and unaltered by plastic surgery. I do not mean style for being fat and lazy.
I think it's good to teach women that they don't have to hate themselves and do radical things to fit in. But borderline getting delusional about it, claiming fat is healthy.
It has pro's and cons. When you're a little chubby it's good, it really distroyes your mental health, trying to reach that perfect body. it isn't worth it. But it can get dangerous when you're just unhealthy fat.
I see it like this: People do not conform because people make fun of them or talk down to them. Usually social pressure and depression just makes problems worse so I rather treat people like people and leave it like that.
I think it's great if it can make some women feel better in their body but personally I have my own idea of ideal body and this movement doesn't affect my opinion on the ideal body.
Nature did not really take into account that a human can get uncontrollably fat and love it. Every person should be sort of "Vitruvian" striving for a human standard, as it's the most balanced way to live and what a human body was originally intended to be. Thus don't be positive about your excessive weight. Fix it.
Well... I do think that it is a somewhat good thing When people are made to feel ashamed of their appearance by societies norms it can and does often lead to depression and other issues which really is very counterproductive I believe it in the long run it will help a lot of larger women to take steps to get into better shape I do find it sad though that this movement is genderspecific... large men have most of the same issues
It's nonsense.. let's make one thing clear. If you're over weight that's fine, if you're skinny that's fine. But don't call men sexist and mysogenistic for preferring fit girls above over weight ones.
My own theory is that people are so ignorant about how to be healthy that they feel being fat is a part of who they are.

Like with all social justice causes it tends to get taken too far. I don't want people to hate themselves for their bodies, but don't tell me what I should and should not find attractive. And no, finding someone unattractive is not an act of oppression.
Well said. In my country there is a preference for curvy girls. That's not just now (maybe it's a new thing in northern Europe) but for us it was always like that, because we are Mediterranean people and our women have that genetic structure. I my self like chubby/curvy girls. What I don't like is obese girls crying out about male shallowness when they discriminate against obese men themselves. That's oxymoron.
It's trying to make the biggest health issue of our generation, obesity, socially acceptable. Therefore it's both wrong and downright irresponsible. Fit healthy body shapes are what we should all aspire to.
There is no such thing as the perfect body, the only answer that comes close to it is "it depends" that meaning that it depends on the person in question, it depends on who's asking, it depends on who's answering, there are too many variables when it comes to this to get a definite answer
I'm okay with people not HATING themselves, but normalizing unhealthy lifestyles, saying it's perfectly acceptable, is wrong, and sends a bad message to children.

I was just gonna so a question about this too
liar
No I was. It had more to do with how some people shame healthy living styles but not a lot of pepole shame bad living styles.

They have the right to be confident, guys have the right to be attracted to what they’re attracted to.
Nobody should go out of their way to insult others, but if asked for an opinion guys should be able to express it without any backlash.
Helping people achieve confidence and healthy self esteem is great. Praising people for being obese is short sighted

The only bodies I like to see are the healthy ones. Not fat chick (or obese) or guys. No. No.
Thats my opinion. What is next?
It's really just a bunch of obese/fat girls who think they're beautiful but then are disgusted by a obese/fat guy. Load of horse shite basically
I upvoted you
@CarpetDenim Thank you

I don’t feel as a society we should encourage extreme obesity. That goes for men and women.
as long as it doesn't promote obesity, I'm indifferent

It's an excuse for Walmart scooter riders to try and shame men who reject them.
I bet most of these body positive idiots can't even do a single push-up.
