Girls, what are your thoughts on the body positivity movement?

I've got mixed feelings about it. For one I think what we saw in magazines 15 years ago and what we see on social media creates an unrealistic standard of beauty and it's sad to see young women get depressed when no matter how hard they try (using time they could be enjoying life), they can't look like that. But at the same time, I don't like celebrating obesity as the new normal. That kind of weight is going to lead to a lot of health problems down the road. Some would argue that we should be putting images of women with average physiques out there and while I certainly think that's better than portraying obese women, it still does remove a lot of motivation to be healthy & which is important it will provide benefits that last long past the years where your looks are your main concern. And this brings me to why I think a lot of media gives an unrealistic standard of beauty:

It's not that it's virtually impossible to be as fit as a lot of the models shown on IG, it's that most women don't have the fat depositing genetics to put all of it in their boobs and nowhere else, the bone structure for that perfect hourglass shape or the insertions for that bubble butt. So what I would like to see is the media depict women who are fit but still have all those perfect imperfections we're born with. in my opinion, the artist who best exemplifies this is Julie Bell (a former fitness model) who depicts women with a physique that would be difficult to attain but would still be achievable for most women (you could say that she's "hard but fair"). She's given me my #Motivation for #FitnessGoals
