How about instead of calling it racist, and Islamophobic, we just say it's plain wrong.
It'd just be a game of semantics whether or not it's racist, which is just a waste of time.
They may use certain, very closed-off definitions, whereas definitions like these exist from international treaties argue racial discrimination is "any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any other field of public life".

Going with B because i disagree with the definition, Islam is not a race so you can not be racist against Islam. It is Islamophobic if you use that word as being against Islam rather than being afraid of Islam. In reality it is just plain disrespectful.
It isn't racist because they aren't saying these things because they hate the color of your skin. It's prejudice against your religious beliefs. So, it's Islamophobic. I wouldn't get too bothered by the people who say this stuff to you. They are in the minority. Most people do not give a shit what religion you follow.

It's a stupid statement and yes, it sounds like both. The racism is retarded, but there's plenty of reason to "fear" radical Islam. I do believe there are plenty of Muslims who just want to live peaceably, and then, there are the fucking radicals. In the end though, they want EVERYONE to follow Islam, and that's bullshit. I don't like Islam because I don't believe their "guy" was a prophet (more like a con man and pedophile) and I don't believe the Quran is the "word of God". Just like the Bible, there's a lot of good stuff and a lot of death and mayhem in it. But it's really nasty in the Quran. But ya''ll can believe it if you want to, just don't try to force it down MY throat, or make YOUR law MY law. Not here in the USA. Go live in any of a number of state run religion countries, and hope that whoever is in power doesn't wage a holy war against your particular "brand" of Islam.
It's understandable but it's very wrong. It's not racist though as muslims aren't a race and islamophobia it's a real thing as islam is an ideology and here in the west we don't protect ideologies from hate and criticism.
