I think they call Islamophobia (prejudice and discrimination against Muslims) because the whole prejudice and discrimination comes from fear. They fear because they don't know. Or because they don't understand.

Tell me about it, I have a friend who moved to our city from the seaside. No Asian or Muslim people lived where she used to live.
She didn't know me. She didn't fear me. She just saw another human being. We're from two completely different ethnic backgrounds she's of Hungarian descent, I'm of Pakistani descent. All it took was a few conversations and now we're best friends!
She has a friend in her old town, who is scared of Muslims and Asians and her friend fears hijabs a lot. Her friend isn't a bad person, surely, she just doesn't know.
Yeah... she just doesn't know... But I think its NOT ok to hate or fear billions of people without even trying to see if they R bad or not... Jusging something without even knowing it seems stupid to me... :(

How about instead of calling it racist, and Islamophobic, we just say it's plain wrong.
It'd just be a game of semantics whether or not it's racist, which is just a waste of time.
They may use certain, very closed-off definitions, whereas definitions like these exist from international treaties argue racial discrimination is "any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any other field of public life".

Going with B because i disagree with the definition, Islam is not a race so you can not be racist against Islam. It is Islamophobic if you use that word as being against Islam rather than being afraid of Islam. In reality it is just plain disrespectful.
