Men are not only stronger by default, men are also have an greater potential in terms of strength and a higher limit, why else do you think that women sports are separated? otherwise women are going to lose almost all the time, also the fact that men was in charge during most history is also a proof for men being stronger and more dominant than women. Women are naturally, and it's common among most mammals, not only humans, are you doing to claim that female gorillas are submissive because of patriarchy and not because of their nature? if anything it's feminism that makes women act in unnatural way for females, to act like males. A man who get easily overpowered by a woman is not a real man, he is a joke.
Yes using a gun don't requires as much physical strength as fighting in melee but the thing is that women also tend to have less fighting spirit, men tend to be more brave than women on top of being stronger than women, men are natural hunters/warriors, while women main role is to take care of children, even when women allowed to join the military, still most soldiers on the battlefield are men, and men are send to the most hot zones, while women are usually getting an easier tasks. As for bodybuilding, many bodybuilders nowadays take steroids, and steroids are unhealthy, and steroids that include male hormones can literally turn a woman into a transgender, and being a transgender don't prove that women are strong, and there is nothing natural about becoming a transgender, so you better bring me examples from sports where drugs are forbidden. A man who is weaker than a woman is not natural/common, it's a exception.

The strongest man in the world will always be physically stronger than the strongest woman in the world.
It’s not just a matter of how much working out a person does, it also has to do with biological differences. A female mma fighter like Ronda Rousey will definitely be stronger than some average Joe who doesn’t work out but Ronda Rousey is still significantly weaker compared to khabib who isn’t that much bigger than Ronda Rousey.
There’s a pseudoscientific claim that says “there is no difference between males and females and so they should be allowed to compete against each other”. While it’s common for a smaller man to overcome a larger man in full contact sports and it’s common for a smaller woman to overcome a larger woman in full contact sports, it’s still very rare for a woman to defeat a much larger man in a full contact sport. Men and women are on completely different levels based on biology. Unless there’s mutual consent, men and woman should not be allowed to compete against each other in strenuous sports.
It depends. I’m a PT. I’ve met guys that I’m stronger than (even guys that work out) but I’ve also met guys that are stronger than me. It also depends on how you measure strength. Like, do you mean in a fight? Or, (because of the photo attached to this question) do you mean working out? When it comes to fitness (which certain workouts do require a lot of strength), a fit person is going to beat someone that is not in shape. I’ve been a PT for guys who can’t even do a sit up. Or get breathless after being on a treadmill for more than 3 mins and the speed is about a light jog.
But if I were to go up against a guy who did work out as much as I did, it would really just depend on how much more intense his workouts are. I can lift my own weight. But what if he can also? And for arguments sake, let’s say he weighs more than me. That would make him stronger, yes. Like I said, it really does depend. Also, the guy that mentioned about rapists overpowering their victims. That happens because rapists target people they can (or believe they can) easily overpower. You’re not gonna hear about some 5 foot 2 inch scrawny male trying to rape a nearly 6 ft body builder female. He’s gonna go for someone smaller than him.
Overall, to answer your question. Men have the CAPACITY to be stronger than women. (Sure, if you take an average guy (not extremely built or anything), and an average girl (not extremely built either, and they both have the same height and weight, the guy is more likely stronger than her. On a side note tho, women can handle childbirth.
Actually studies show that most highly trained female athletes are still weaker than most untrained men. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/7253873/

It's sexual dimorphism. It doesn't mean that women are inferior any more than men are inferior because men can't breastfeed. Men and women are different, and that's okay.

So you say if she weighed 8st and a man weighed 8 stone and she trained every day to max then she's going to overpower him. Yes that's true but if she trained to max and he trained to max then she's gain a few pounds and he'd also gain a few pounds but a few more and his muscle mass would then be far denser and far more resilient to impact and damage than hers and in that case she would not overpower him because there would be a body weight issue.
You see what you're trying to do with your question is present a straw man argument because you'd essentially say a man and woman equal weight but she trains and he doesn't, even if she equalled weight through training then yes she'd overpower him but she would also overpower a child because that would be the comparison, now if they are both training and following a routine that works for their respective body types then she wouldn't not by strength alone because he'd always be the stronger due to biology.
Here's an interesting fact for you though, just because women are physically weaker than men they have other things for which they are stronger, such as empathy and ability to read a room or situation, they being weaker often have to learn other survival tactics such as manipulation etc when used for good this is a very good strength that many women actually seem to want to be rid of. Think about a time when a weaker woman had been able to stop two men fighting in a bar purely because she was able to be feminine and the men stopped simply because of that, I've seen that happen so many times. Those things aren't weaknesses but actually strengths, you just have to shift your logic a bit and you'll understand what I mean.Men tend to be stronger because of their muscle and height structure. DNA but women can be strong too , they work on it and build the stamina. So yes woman and men can go either way. I for one not saying all females but I'm weak.
I used to be very strong could even hold hundreds of pounds when I had to.
But after becoming anorexic etc and recovering. I can barely fight my sister and carrying over 70 pounds is very difficult but before recovering opening a freaking building I could not. Also I never did weight traing so my strength I got was from doing chores, activities outside and my dna. (everyone's different)It's quite a wide question which requires clarification. The best of male athletes, thus far, have proven to out perform the best of female athletes in most individual endeavours where performance can be measured with a time or a score. That is demonstrably true. Are there women out there who are stronger, faster and fitter than some men out there? Absolutely, but we can't quantify that. We can only look at instances where the sexes can be compared in competition and measured scientifically. So the conversation should either be restricted to that or it's just too vague.
No. Men have almost 60% greater upper body strength and almost 50% greater lower body strength then women. We have 25% thicker skin, our bones are fare more dense and lose strength much later in life then women. Our bone structure itself is more robust in design (for instance the face, thicker jaw and brow ridges are evolved to protect the eye from blunt impact, for men these are more pronounced then in women). We have fewer pain receptors then women as well as being mentally more capable of dealing with hardship (we have less aversion to negative stimuli compared to women). Men are, and this was obvious for all of our existence so it shouldn't even be a question now, significantly stronger then women.
I would also point out that if your upset by the idea that women are not like men, the problem lies with you, as you clearly think women are inferior to men because of these differences. If you're comparing an athletically fit woman to a man who is basically inactive, then yeah I would be a bit surprised actually if she couldn't overpower him. If you're talking about putting men and women on identical workout programs however, no. Men have an arbitrary advantage in this ballpark. Since your picture shows people serving in the military, I'll point out that even though male and female recruits in training receive the same fitness training and nutrition, women have a much higher rate of failure due to injury than men, and it's directly related to just natural biology.
What you also encroached on with submissiveness is psychology, which while there are some trends in each gender, this is much less set in stone than biology.Men are objectively more powerful than women in a few areas. Brute physical strength, raw power, etc.
Women, however, have areas where we're stronger than men. Often, our natural pain tolerance is higher and we often have more of an edge in certain endurance sport.
A man's 1 rep max (1RM) on a bodyweight percentage basis will out perform a woman.
But a woman can outperform a man in number of reps she can perform at a higher percentage of her bodyweight.
There are physical differences between the sexes. This is fact.
Intellectual, social, cultural differences are bullshit. But there are definitely differences on a purely physical basis.
Anyone trained, regardless of sex, would outperform an untrained individual. To attempt to tie that to sex is, well, pointless.
Assuming equal training (whether trained or untrained), a man will outpower a woman.
What brought this assumption about for you? I'm curious. If women could compete with men, trannies wouldn't compete in women's sports.
Simple as.A Woman is a origin of a child. and the second most pain in the world giving birth to a child, so you must understand how much she handle a pain physically plus mentally when she leave their parents house for marriage and do house making without any Greediness 💛
I'm sure there are some women who are stronger than myself and some other men, but in general I don't think that's the case.
I don't believe in all that other stuff women try to compete with either: they can handle pain better, are mentally stronger, emotionally stronger, etc. If that was really the case then women would've found themselves overtaking men and running the planet a long time ago, because mental strength and pain endurance are greater than physical strength, yet men have still had what it takes to endure, and at times have even put themselves through more pain or difficulty to reach a goal, necessity, greater outcome, etc.weaker in what way? if a women exercises more than a man she will be stronger. generally, i think men are usually built to be stronger than women. but i also don't see men having the physical and emotional strength to endure pregnancy and childbirth so it's all based on perspective.
Physically? Yes. 100%. It's called sexual dimorphism. If I remember the stats correctly women have about 50-60% of upper body and 80% of lower body strength in comparision to men. There is a reason we have had separate sport-disciplines for decades - with most times it being possible for women to participate in mens sports but not vice versa (weird how you still never see a woman in it, right?).
Anyone who denies the physical difference is delusional and should get their mental health checked.
.
Mentally? Depends on what parameters you are using to define mental strength.True weakness is found in bone mass. Women have difficulty processing calcium, the main ingredient required to make dense bone mass.
While I have seen woman who's bone density rivals that of a man's, woman's bones are still thinner and lighter than the average man.
Another point that should not be overlooked is that woman's organic make up is not often as rugged as a man's due to their menstrual cycles. This is a sign of healthy reproductive and regenerative viability.
If a woman wants to be a man and there are many that are trying desperately to do this, they'll require a lot of drug and psychological therapy to even begin this physical journey towards attempting to rival their authentic male counterparts. That is not to say it can't be done, but it does bait the underlying question. Why?
I'm for liberty and the pursuit of happiness as much as the next guy, but this does seem to be a real fork in the proverbial road in a manner of speaking.Statistic trends are general rules. Exceptions that happen under specific conditions don't disprove a general statistic trend; on the contrary, the fact that you need a special condition to begin with proves that trend
You gave your answer: science says men have more muscle mass on average. Period
Now, whether the societal ramifications of this should be to treat women like lesser beings or special snowflakes, that's a different question. A question to which the answer is, "no, you idiot"from what I've heard, it is scientifically proven that men are physically stronger then women, now that doesn't mean women can't do anything about it, people can still work on their strength and weaknesses to improve, it all depends, lets say you have a son and a daughter, if the daughter spends her time hitting the gym and the kid just lays there like an idiot then obviously the girl will be stronger, i dont know much on this but i did hear that it was scientifically proven that men are physically stronger, I don't know if its correct or not but i honestly dont care
Circumstantial, but generally speaking no, women aren't physically stronger than men. They aren't physiologically built that way. This isn't to say some aren't or couldn't be. And frankly, we don't have to be. It's not a matter of submissivity, but a crutch of the patriarchy to keep men on top. Women are just as capable as men in some fields, but there are men that flat won't treat women as an equal in others.
It’s objectively true when you say make the statement in full
the population of women on average are physically weaker than the population of men on average.
It never meant that any given woman woman is weaker than any given man. It does not mean that a given woman that is weaker than a given man today cannot be stronger than that same man in the future.
Those statements are objectively true and not subject to difficult interpretation or difference of opinion. They are measurably true.
further its not even even a bad thing so don’t try to spin it as though there is some societal effort to obscure the truth to keep women down. That’s a lie People perpetuating this type of nonsense is what is harmful to women and takes away from what they truly are. It's not a myth. It's basic biology. You can point to specific examples which may not hold true, but for the vast majority, it is.
It's why you can have someone like Serena Williams be the greatest female tennis player the world has ever seen. And some nobody who isn't even ranked in the top 200 of the mens game can beat her silly, leaving her to say the ball was so fast it was practically invisible to her.
Mens muscles and tendons have millions of years of evolution that favoured strength and endurance and twitch speed. For military purposes women are now usually equal, as our technology often negates the need to be physically powerful.
But the Canadian army still holds women to a lower standard. If my memory serves me, a 20 year old woman had to be able to run a distance in the same time it would take a 50 year old man.
Equally, PTSD rates among Canadian female soldiers who served in Afghanistan is like 2-3 times that of the men.
Based off my own research even when technology is used (guns and vehicles) women are still both less reluctant to put themselves at risk or find interest in the profession, and more likely to not qualify or be more mentally or physically affected by the tasks and experiences. They are. It's just a biological thing. Of course if they work and do gym they will build some muscle but those professional female body builders take testosterone injection. Most of them aren't natural. Women are weak mentally and physically. They have low amount of testosterone therefore they are more agreeable, emotional and sensitive. They can't tolerate danger or conflict. Also physically of course they are weaker. They are shorter, they have lesser muscle mass, they have small skeleton frame, their skin is soft and sensitive. Our skin evolved to take damage. Also we are more aggressive, dominant and we take more risks. Women aren't like that. Yes of course there will be minority cases but majority are like this.
"It is confirmed by science that men have more muscle mass than women"
you answered your own question.
however in other areas where the women are stronger than us make up for it. They tend to live longer than we do for a reason. And seem to handle emotional impacts way better than we do.
in conclusion women have the same amounts of power as we do. It's a matter of strength/weakness of either gender.
