No. It is my uterus and I have a right to rule my own uterus. If i do not want a clumb of cells in my uterus, i can remove it. It is not my fault that the embryo is dependent on the uterus and can't survive without the womb. You are also not a murder for not lending/ giving your organs to someone who needs it to survive. If it gets banned, i want to have a right to controll every anti abortion person's genitalien to cut off their penises and vaginas like they force women to give birth and make them go through all pain

I don't think others should decide whether or not someone is allowed to get an abortion. It's a huge thing that can affect a life - or several.
As in some countries, I think it's good to have a "deadline" for when it's too far in the pregnancy to get an abortion.
But, if you do make it illegal, this won't stop women from getting abortions, women have been doing it for centuries. If it is made illegal, women will find other methods for doing so, more dangerous methods that are unsafe. It's best to make sure it is done properly.
It's okay to be against it, but it is not up to other people whether or not a woman gets an abortion.
If a person is against abortion then they shouldn't have one. They shouldn't try to influence their neighbor on whether or not they should have an abortion. That's their decision. This issue has been settled with a perfectly fair solution. Individual choice.
it really amazes me that people are still losing sleep about this shit. I pray that you are never in a bad situation where you have to make that choice.
The fetus has its own individual human-D. N. A. distinct from the mother's. Hence, the kid's humanity & legal statuses (legal-personhood for basic human-rights & parents' citizenships for all rights of a citizen) should not be denied for an easy & legal execution without charge, trial, and sentencing. As history has already shown, the moment that the can be done to any human of any group, it can be do to anyone else. And often, it is.
HOW ABOUT THIS: We allow women to have an abortion, BUT she has to agree to be sterilized at the same time. Want to kill your child -- OK, but you have lost all of your rights to being a mother in the future. Full stop.
@KrakenAttackin In terms of principle, I hold to the principle that such murder should be illegal. My issue is the implementation: Slavery & murder-for-hire have been long illegal, but it still happens to this day. The same with abortions in various jurisdictions. Also, there are those with more arguable cases than others. That said, whether to allow for some is tricky. Allowing even 1case opens the door for allowing all. Banning outright endangers the woman if she seeks an illegal way, but allowing makes the state complicit in the non-war, state-sanctioned murder. The personhood of the mother & the humanity of the child generally should never clash, but, in this jurisdiction-wide controversy, it does. Implementation… (ლ‸-)
No. I think abortion should be someone's very last option and people should be responsible with birth control and how they manage it. That being said, nobody grieves when sperm cells die. That's a "living organism" entirely independent from my body. So "life" is not the issue here, it's when living cells eventually become a human. But what makes a human? I honestly don't know when it becomes a human, but I know it's not at conception. All it is is a clump of cells. So abortion should be legal, late term abortion when the fetus is literally a full-fledged baby should absolutely not be legal.
I think the meta for what is acceptable will never again allow something like the scantity of an infant to be respected. People are self centered to the point now that they would sooner murder someone with no ability to defend themselves or protest so that their own lives will be easier.
I think it should be allowed. There are a variety of reasons why a parent would want to have an abortion: health issues, rape, not being able to take care of it, and some people just straight up don’t want children. When we deny abortions we endanger women’s lives and allow babies to be born into situations where they’re not wanted, or they have to live with lifelong illnesses, or their parents may not have the means to care for them.

Yes and no. Let's face the fact that abortion is the killing of a human life. I believe there is a time and a place for that, but using it as a means of birth control is NOT it. That's all abortion is today... another means of birth control. It's a convenience for women who don't want the inconvenience of a child in their lives at the time, so they kill their own child as a matter of convenience. That is just wrong.
When it comes to rape, incest and instances when the mother's life or health is at risk, then abortion is a justifiable evil. But that's all. It's not justifiable otherwise, and our laws should be changed to reflect that reality.
1. Too many lower income families are contributing to overpopulation by having more kids so they can get more benefits/welfare out of my taxpayer's money.
2. In the cases of rape, underage, or potentially fatal health complications, abortion must always be an option.
3. Reduce the amount of children born with disabilities and defects, because let's all be real here, nobody wants a retarded kid.
I am really indifferent to it but I do not think people should act like psychos and try to force women to have babies. I mean are these protesters at the abortion clinic gonna pay to take care of this kid? Or will he end up with a horrible life because nobody wants him?
Abortion should not be banned because some women may have been raped and wouldn't like a reminder or have to tell their child when it gets to a certain age what their dad did but I personally wouldn't ever have one because I couldn't do that but that doesn't mean they should be banned
I am firmly against abortion. First and foremost, every man, woman, and child is made in the image and likeness of God and we do not have the right to kill an unborn child.
I get your feelings. But should laws have anything to do your religious beliefs? If a woman doesn't believe what you believe why should she be forced to follow them?
Ideally, yes, but it would be better not to go to the extreme side of yes; if a teenager gets pregnant or gets raped, she cannot care for the child and so should get rid of it before it is "born".
If, however, a woman decides to have unprotected sex, whether to have a child or not, and then goes on to get pregnant, she should live with the consequences of her actions - there is no going back.
I don't think abortion should be banned since it's their body they can decide to have baby or not. it shouldn't be based on other strangers decision that's not fair. Fetus isn't human yet it's like saying sperm is a human. Accidents can happen where you get pregnant and you can't afford anything so it's best to abort or if they were raped and you don't want that
99% it isn't that someone in the 115 IQ range gets raped and doesn't wanna give birth. So abortion is probably increasing the gene pool. But I'm also pro TBF (think before fuck). The fact that there is a debate means that we don't have a definition from when life is a life. And I think when something isn so uncertain we should handle that question with more caution. And not taking any chances. 2-1 for pro life in my opinion.
Of course not! Because it is an individual choice, no one is forced to do it. If a women feels like she doesn't have mental, physical or economic conditions to have the child, for whatever reason, she shouldn't have it. It will be bad both for her and the babie.
Yes, taking an innocent life is wrong , and living with the guilt of killing a innocent life would be devastating , just defines you as a piece of shit , if you don’t want the baby then give it to someone that can’t have babies but having the option to murder a life is beyond wrong
Not every reason for abortion is because the women doesn't want it. Some are not financially stable and or mentally stable also some women have been raped and do not want the child which is completely up to the woman
Yea but she doesn’t need to kill the baby cuz she was raped , give it up for adoption , it’s not the babies fault she got raped , how can someone live knowing they killed an innocent life cuz they aren’t capable of caring for a child , their are millions of people out their that would adopt that would love to have a baby , so abortion to me is just plain out wrong
It’s almost always rich white men telling women what they can and can’t do to their body. But that’s beside the point, people always have abortions, the question is do you want them to be safe (legal) or dangerous and done in back alleys (make it illegal)
It's not a child though, its a fetus/embryo. Giving birth has permanent health risks and some people can't afford to go the 9 months of pregnancy as it'll interfere with their livelihoods.
You can't just say wrong with no other response, and I've read a fair share of reports of people dying during pregnancy, underaged girls having birth complications, and there's a reason pregnant people usually have to leave work at some point during the pregnancy. This isn't ideology, it's fact. A question of interest for you though, is a zygote a child?
@Dchrls78104 Why does that matter? We have contraceptive measures that reduce the odds dramatically, and after that point you can just go through with an abortion if contraception didn't work and the person pregnant doesn't want to go through the pregnancy. The fetus/embryo still isn't a child though, just a clump of consciousness tissue which can simply be removed. If people want to have sex and are of the age of consent, let them. If they have to have an operation afterwards due to bad luck, let them. What gives you a right to step in?
Why do not we cut your penis off, if you want to control the uterus? It is my uterus and you only remove the embryo from the uterus and it is not our fault that it is depended on our uterus to survive. Then you are murder by not lending/giving your organs to someone who needs to survive
A pregnant woman has to eat healthy food and maintain her mental health. By forcing a woman going trough pregnancy you are destroying her mental health and as a result she will end up eating junk food, taking drugs or drinking alcohol which cause misscarriages. So it is not only about keeping a clumb of cells in the uterus but also controlling her whole life. And there is also a risk that she can loose her job or can't afford the pregnancy.
@Liadon What about the father? Should he not have an equal say into the life of the child? Afterall, he has an equal responsibility once the child is born, whey not before the child is born? You believe in "equality" right?
This situation inherintly isn't equal though, one member of the relationship has to go through a great physical hardship. The father shouldn't be able to call for something to happen to the mothers body without any consent from her. She has every right to do with her body as she will, as she's being harmed by the pregnancy in ways. Therefore she makes the ultimate call and the father doesn't have as much sway over this matter due to this. After/close to birth this would now be a child, so even if the mother doesn't want to breast feed she'd be obligated to provide for them or seek help in providing for then. This no longer becomes an issue of something being forced upon somebody's body against their will. Which means it goes back to equal stakes in raising the child.
@Liadon I would submit the mother is obligated to care for and raise the child from the moment of conception, the father is similarly obligated. Don't want the obligation, don't open your legs.
You still haven't answered the actual issue though, why is an abortion a bad thing? The Embryo/Fetus isn't conscious as it doesn't have a functioning brain so its not like you're killing an actual child. Why should your own personal views be forced onto others to restrict their bodily autonomy? Humans are fueled by hormones. People have tried to stop them from having sex and its often either backfired into people having uneducated/safe sex, or people enduring bodily farm from chastity devices such as Kellog's. Removing a cluster of cells in your body that are a mix of your own and someone else's DNA shouldn't grant the invasive cells more of a right to stay in your body than other parts can actually be consensually removed. Your view on this seems to be summed up as "If you make action A you've already consented to B, C and D." my view is you have to individually consent to each of these. And these people who want abortions haven't consented to being pregnant at that time, or have retracted consent.
@hi_it_is_me123 Wow, you really paint women are seriously shitty people. The "I will do whatever I can to destroy my child", do you realize how fucked up this is?
@Liadon "What gives us the right to step in"? The right to protect a child, that's what right.
Again, I ask about letting women have an abortion, BUT their agreeing to be sterilized during the abortion. If you get an abortion you permanently forfeit your right to be a mother to your natural child.
@Liadon The failure rate of the pill is as close to 100% as can be expected. MOST women who get pregnant (read: almost all) get pregnant by CHOICE, although they lie about this and say it was an "oops".
@Dchrls78104 And yet due to hormones this isn't going to work, I already addressed this. You can't stop people having sex without violating their bodies without their consent.
Most women get pregnant by choice is what you're saying. Not all. Which means that there will be some that want to have an abortion as they didn't intentionally get pregnant and don't want to go through the pregnancy. And also here's the conflict of ideals again. I believe that you should be able to say no towards something to do with your own body and back out at any time. You think that if you start something than you're obligated to finish it, and if you didn't want it its your own fault. I think your view is immoral as its forcing people through ordeals just to spite initial poor decisions or bad luck. You keep referring to the blob of tissue as a child which I'd still protest against though, as it doesn't even have a functioning brain. It's just something with the potential to be a child. Why should a women be sterilized for getting an abortion? It's just an easy procedure without any real ethical problems on a biological and realistic level. They may just not be ready to have a child and decide to have one in the future. If you argue that for example a 19 year old gets pregnant mid way through university and decides that they aren't ready to raise a child or settle down to decide to have an abortion. You reason they should be disqualified from it for the rest of their lives. That's sick.
@Liadon but they can, and should, control themselves. Animals have hormones, too, but they live by their instincts. Humans are not animals; we have a conscience and freedom and opportunity to exercise self-control and self-restraint instead of being merely led by our hormones. We can make intelligent choices and take responsibility for them. Frankly the need to do that is more urgent these days than ever in human history.
@Dchrls78104 We are by definition animals. We have the same sorts of hormones as animals. Sexual interaction has positive mental benefits too. The key thing though is telling teens to use abstinence only doesn't work. It justs leads to riskier sex which leads to more abortions needing to be had. Saying "We should just have abstinence" doesn't matter due to this.
@Liadon when they can't address any of your key points and just put their already discredited points on repeat, it becomes apparant why they're anti-abortion. They think a clump of cells is a person with a soul and an opinion, and there's just no arguing with that level of ignorance. If they fall short of scientific understanding of a given subject and can't be swayed from their opinion, then their cognitive dissonance will always be the victor over reason. I think we should just be happy that we live in a free enough Country to have abortions and that these emotional sheep haven't stripped us of that freedom, despite their best efforts
I think its safer to not have it banned. At the end of the day, it's that woman's or couples choice whether or not they want to keep that baby, and their reasons are tangible to them so it isn't for others to judge

I agree

@Liadon Wrong. You are too young to have swallowed feminist ideology.

@hi_it_is_me123 Yeah, it feels like people often just put a filter up in their minds to block all these sorts of comparisons from making sense.
@hi_it_is_me123 Sorry if nature dealt you a shitty hand, but it is a child and another life that you do not have a "right" to kill.

@Liadon Can pregnancy be prevented?
Yes, just not with a 100% success rate.
@Liadon there's a contraceptive with a 100% guaranteed success rate; it's called Abstinence!
@hi_it_is_me123 Wow, you really paint women are seriously shitty people. The "I will do whatever I can to destroy my child", do you realize how fucked up this is?
@Liadon You are going through all kinds of rationalizations to excuse the incredibly bad and irresponsible behaviour of women.
@KrakenAttacking you are twisting my words. Pro lifers are the one who destroy women and then wonder about destroyed kids
@Liadon "What gives us the right to step in"? The right to protect a child, that's what right.

They may just not be ready to have a child and decide to have one in the future.
