What do you think are some signs a person has low self esteem?

Some potential things that come to mind (but really, low self esteem manifests itself differently in people. Not all of these will apply to every case):
— Makes self deprecating jokes, especially extreme ones, but almost always doubles down on the joke and/or makes them very often
— Has trouble taking compliments, but is quick to take criticism. For instance, if you say “you look great!” it can sometimes create a feeling of “you’re lying to me to try and make me feel better.” It’s not like they won’t say they thank you and accept it necessarily, but it can be difficult for them
— Difficulties with food— for instance, maybe eating too little due to a feeling of being overweight, maybe eating too much to deal with stress.
— Excessive amounts of makeup, long hair to cover face, wearing baggy clothes, or some other fashion choice to try and hide their self away... even if it seems a bit unusual or even absurd. For instance, I knew a guy who (looking back probably) had low self esteem and would wear a sweat shirt everyday, even outside. This was in Texas mind you, with 90F+ days with high humidity.
— It’s often associated with depression, which means isolation often occurs. Hence, escapes are often found through the internet, like fantasy in anime, reading, social media, etc..
— Extreme fear of feeling too vulnerable, but at the same time, he/she may try to drop hints along the way of what they’re really feeling (as is sometimes the case with self deprecating jokes)
— Feeling that they’re beyond help and quick to give up on tasks pertaining to their self. They want to feel better, obviously, but they often fool their self into thinking they can never feel better or that the path to getting better is so ridiculous that it’s not worth it.
