I see your point, however to gain more knowledge maybe you should consider taking a class. I'm assuming you haven't and that's okay, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, men will never understand what women go through on a day to day basis. I'm not a feminist and I especially don't agree with modern day feminism, but the patriarchal society we live in is repulsive. Even more so, the importance of gender studies helps to narrow the gap of misconstrued prejudice, and discrimination towards the LGBT community. Seems like you all are living in a bubble that needs to be popped.

No, for some people might be, and that's totally fine, for some others it's not, which is totally fine too.

These people on those photos you posted seem happy to me, taking part in Gender Class Studies is meaningful to their lives, so the worth is there for them. I answer like this because there's not many things that are "worthy" for all people or whatever, so I use this "case by case" approach. And at the end they might make a difference if we at least give them the chance to study the matter without being hostile.

As humans evolve and we think more, these types of questions and philosophies (gender based, as well as other human studies) will only increase. It's a foreseeable projection.

If they help in developing some skill, i. e. honing your writing, then they aren’t useless. Also, different perspectives on stuff is not often bad, which could make it worthwhile.


Obviously, this will depend on what you intend on doing in your 3/4/5 years in university, but that’s more of a value assessment within your own context than whether or not gender studies may help in some sense.
