I remember the story of what the feminists of the UK did to Erin Pizzey- but that's the UK; maybe a bit too close to North America to count.
I remember the feminists protesting in Spain when their government considered giving equal weight to male and female testimonies, to fall in line with the Human Rights Convention. They also objected to the proposed law changes that would removed the gender of an offender from consideration. Still a western country, though; perhaps we should go further out.
I remember the incredible anger I saw from the Russian feminists when one of their government officials suggested that the female retirement age should be raised to equal the male, even though it STILL wouldn't be (unlike the male equivalent) above the average life expectancy.
I remember the Israeli feminists laughing and dancing in celebration when the Knesset killed a bill that would have made 50/50 shared custody the default in divorces.
I remember the feminists of India raising hell when the domestic violence law changes that would have allowed for male victims WEREN'T BEING KILLED FAST ENOUGH.
I remember the Argentine government mandating feminist indoctrination for all police and government officials, in the name of preventing violence against women, despite the fact that they're victims of fewer violent crimes than not only men, but CHILDREN. I remember the (translated) complaints I heard that the "femicide" laws that specifically mandate longer punishments for killing women than men didn't go far enough.
None of these places are in North America.
Fundamentally, the Feminist movement is a group of people demanding special privileges in the name of equality. That some of them do in countries where women unambiguously have MORE rights than men may make more of a stain on the movement's name, but claiming that feminism is about equality is no different from saying the same of the KKK.

Yes, they only shame men on stupid things. True feminism is needed in Iran And Saudi Arabia, when girls are being jailed or killed for not wearing hijab and have no rights, a man rules them.

Depends who do you mean under feminists in North America.
Camille Paglia? Christina Hoff Summers? Both outspoken feminists, both very intelligent women.
I enjoy their work very much and I share many of their views. I'd suggest them as an antidote to anything toxic you have seen.
And there are more feminist women similar to those - harder to find as there is always the loud, irritating group of people that think they can be heard only if they scream, cuss and do a show. In every movement. People just love getting dressed for a show, taking some pitchforks and torches and marching and shouting. It's natural, even if it is stupid.
So no. Generally speaking, no, they do not. It's just the pitchfork wielders on both sides that make it look worse. If you mean the current wave of Feminism then, Yes they do, but you can also include those of the same wave in Canada, Australia, UK, New Zealand, etc doing the same in their countries
Their brand of Feminism is not about equality, Only hate, power and victim-hood.
These Feminists want Equality of Rights WITHOUT the accompanying Equality of Accountability and Responsibility.I try a lot to keep how I feel out of my opnions, but the way you asked this question is so irritating.
I'm going dumb this down for you, if you're even willing to hear me out.
Deminazis are the ones who gives feminism a bad name.
Femanazis are radical feminists, in other words, they're extreme feminists.
ANY movement taken to the extreme are bad, always.
It's not North American women who give feminism a bad name, is feminazis and they're all over the world.feminism gives feminism a bad name. its based on marxism
Weird... what makes them any different than other continents? Doesn’t make any sense..
