The majority of incels in reality probably dont even know that there is an online incel community.
But they are the same group of people. But the online portion gives the general population an excuse to not think about the plight of the incel and the rapidly growing group of them.

Humanity is vulnerable to hate no matter who it is. Thats why they are prone to hating people in a collective rather than on an individual level.
Incels, for example, are constantly judged for what a number of them that is so few that you can count on your fingers have done. I don't even understand the misogyny insult either because most of the rampages targeted everyone not just women. They hated the vociferous rejection by society.
However the violence isn't caused by the fact that they are incels. Stuff like this usually stems from abuse or lack of fatherhood in their lives. If your own parents can't even be bothered to care about you, I can understand the hatred for humanity but I it doesn't excuse the violence.
I think these people just need help. At best they need to learn the social skills needed to get a partner and at worst they need help coming to terms with the atrocities that have been done to them. Once that has been achieved then I think the number of incels will steadily decrease and they will find happiness again.
Everyone hates everyone all the time now. It's not just you. Pretty girls get hate for being pretty. Tall guys get hate for being tall. Skinny people get hate for being skinny. White people get hate for being white etc etc

What steps does a person take to become an incel? Based on your comment, it sounds like a person becomes an incel due to their own personally as a jerk or an asshole.
But surely that's not true? I feel the truth of the path towards becoming an incel, is the societal rejection of an innocent young boy, who experiences said rejection repeatedly from a young age into adulthood, and through years of pain and suffering, they lash out like a beaten dog.

How does a person choose to be involuntarily celibate? Nobody would choose to be that.
There seems to me to be two separate definitions. 1 - an incel as in a person on the internet who hates women because he can't fuck any of them.
Then there is the original definition of incel, being any person who is involuntarily celibate, and does not need to have any association or knowledge of the internet version of incel that we all choose to focus on.
Can we separate the two definitions? Can we help a guy who is an incel in the official definition, without lumping him together with the internet definition?

They choose in the way that they can improve themselves to be more attractive to women but they simply refuse to do what’s necessary. It can be any of those reasons. They can lack certain traits, have bad behavior, and have a mental health challenge. Yes, those with mental health issues or those raised in dysfunction environments should be treated with compassion but it’s still never an excuse to continue a cycle of bad behavior. Even those who have been abused, traumatized, and have mental illness should be held accountable and responsible for their behavior and attitude towards others.
But again, you're specifically talking about a tiny group of people who exist on the internet. And you're choosing to focus on them, rather than a larger majority of people who struggle from incel-dom, who are perfectly good people but dont know what to do. They are lost and suffering.
And they can't get any help. Because the automatic assumption in that if you can't have sex but wish you could, that you must be a bad person. Which I think is very very wrong.
Even within the actual online incel community, it's a small percentage relative to the many who exist in these bubbles.
And because a tiny minority exists, the rest of the population is shunned and shit on.
Most people lack empathy. They really can't put themselves into someone else's shoes. Even people who claim to be empathic have biases that make them blind. If someone's first reaction is to attack, they lack empathy in my opinion.

I don’t believe that they don’t know what to do to change their outcomes. They don’t want to do what they’ve been advised to do. I’ve personally advised many of them who have rejected my advice.
Your personal experience doesn't mean that you can convey that information to another person. It's like telling a blind person what color is like, what it's like to see.
But for people who have never been a social outcast, or never had a mental illness, or never have been shit on by their peers, never been rejected by girls, screamed at, treated like scum. People who suffer from PTSD from endless traumatic experiences throughout their childhood. People who need real help from professionals. What you say is meaningless to them. But mental illness is still stigmatized. People dont understand. A person can be suffering and think that they dont need it. Or they may think they dont deserve it. Or dont have the money or believe who knows what.
I know for myself I never thought I had any problems. I thought I was just fine. I was in the military but i didn't think much of it. I didn't think the things I experienced affected me at all. But turns out I have PTSD from that shit. 10+ years after I separated I'm only now finding out. It is what it is.

I recently had a girl repeatedly smile at me and walk close while making eye contact. She also would pull her shirt up as she walked past me to show her butt off to me. It's true that many people love to feel like everything good they got is because they are somehow so much better and more special and they somehow earned it by themselves.

True to an extent. But are all short ugly guys unsuccessful? I know a lot who are successful. And they don't give the slightest crap that they are short and ugly. They fight for what they want to take and they take what they want. Luck is important, but luck can favour incels too if they take themselves in some positions and keep trying.
Some celebrities have something to speak about and they are not afraid to say it, despite not being particularly good looking and tall. Look at Ricky Gervais or Billy Bob Thornton.
