Why do people think that a good guy with a gun can’t s stop a bad guy with a gun?

There is nothing that gun laws could’ve done to prevent the bad guy with a gun from getting the gun he obtained he’s gun illegally, The good guy with a gun presumably bought his gun legally if we ban guns like The Democrats want this officer would’ve been dead but then again the Democrats probably would be celebrating that. Don’t let the Democratic take away your right to defend yourself or other. Seriously if somebody breaks into your house and all you have is a knife to divide yourself with your life they going to end up dead. Vs a gun you will most likely live. Robbers tend to leave when they see a gun they don’t leave when they see a knife. So unless we’re all going to be professional knife fighters we need guns.

Your right everyone should have to take a 6 week class an score above a 85% on the end test. That’s what I had to do before I got a gun (muzzleloader anyone can get). I took my test and missed 1 “question: is it ethical to shoot a deer lying down” I said yes the answer is no l never miss because I was trained by an X Vietnam sniper who taught New trainees how to shoot joint base Fort Louis McCord (For both Army and Air Force). Until he died in 2017. But still the presence of a gun would Deter robbers raped or anyone who brake into your house.

As much as hunting is fun, the idea of the second amendment was so that we could defend ourselves from Invaders both domestic and foreign it was also meant to take down the federal government if they ever became tyrannical. If you have your sights accurately said you can shoot in an active shooter situation you can accurately shoot the bad guy. Unless you have a smoothbore gun which stopped being used around 1820. A Rightly so the Glock could easily take down a criminal even if your in the middle of a panic. Also most gun owner if they had an opportunity to stop the bad guy with a gun would stop the shooter. If the gun owner openly carries it will also be a deterrent for a shooter. Or you’ll be the first target. But most gun owner will willing defend other is given a chance.

Also AR-15 are less likely to be used in a mass shooting. Pistol are more likely you go 15 round in a pistol there much easier to carry and conceal The recent Georgia Asian massage parlor shooting was done it with a 9 mm pistol not an AR-15.

Yea because most cops haven’t been train correctly. Most people who legally own a fire arm have been trained properly. Also what are you supposed to do let a robber rob your or rape your wife and kids or are you going to try to get him out of your house. In the worst case you shot the intruder

They don't- they think that he WON'T stop him. Or that in stopping him, he'll also hurt others- bullets don't ask questions. I understand the importance of guns, but most of the rhetoric around them is just asinine. Even a basic knowledge of history will tell you that nine times out of ten, what stops a bad man with a gun is another bad man with a gun.

Not really when you look through history it’s a bunch of bad people with guns getting killed by good people with guns look at the Christchurch shooting for recent history. Or the Las Vegas shooting the cops were the good guys with guns in that case. Also in over 2 million cases a year a good guy with a gun has stop another crime from happening. Guns are a huge deterrent in self-defense if somebody breaks into your house and you were burnishing a pistol at them they are likely to leave because they don’t want to get shot themselves. There have been a few instances where a good guy with a gun was too cowardly to use it like in the Parkland shooting but a lot of times the good guy with a gun stops a crime from happening

Look at war, where the vast majority of shootings take place. Look at Hitler. Stopping a crime doesn't automatically make you good.

Yes the Nazis were bad guys with guns and your right just because you’re stopping a crime doesn’t make you automatically good Stalin fight Hitler. And honestly if it was a battle between Hitler and Stalin only I would rout for Hitler, fascism is less evil than communism or socialism. But again most of those people with guns in World War II we’re good guys the British gave up their entire empire in order to defeat Hitler the Americans destroyed Nazi Germany if it wasn’t for the Americans Germany wouldn’t be a democracy nowadays we were the good guys with guns. Well, no. The British didn't "give up" their empire; they lost it due to corruption, mismanagement, and overspending, and if you want to know what kind of "good guys" they were, look at how they were treating the Irish, who'd proven the Great Invincible Empire vulnerable and human just a few years earlier. And the Americans (who didn't actually defeat the Germans; if any single power gets credit, it'd be the Soviets), who threw innocent people into detention camps just because of their ethnicity? These are the "good guys"? Better guys, sure, but being the best of a bad lot doesn't make you good.

You're missing the point, though. I mentioned Hitler because he was the guy who killed Hitler, as unambiguous a bad guy as you're likely to find. Neither the Americans nor the Soviets were fighting Hitler, they were fighting Hans and Fritz and Johann. Random German guys not so different from themselves. The captured Nazi leadership gets lawyers and reporters and fair trial, but those guilty of the heinous crime of being born in Germany at the wrong time? They get summary execution. It's the way war has always worked; this is hardly new or unique to any one people. But when you cross that line, you forfeit the right to call yourself good.

Yes we were the good guys and the Soviet were the bad guys. And yes they imprison people based on their race as well, One thing that isn’t mention much is Jews were fleeing the Soviet union as much as they were fleeing Nazi Germany. If you were a practicing Jew you were thrown into the new lock and reeducated many people died. Stalin was doing the same thing to the Jews as Hitler. Stolen actually agreed with The way Hitler treated the Jews.

Laws will not stop criminals, but they will stop the mentally ill and sick.

Pandemic hits, no mass shootings made the news for months. 2 weeks into whatever pretend roll back our country started, 1 for each week. Those people went from mentally ill, to criminal. A pandemic wouldn't have stopped a genuine criminal, with the criminal mind and desire for harm.

I think the "made the news" part kinda says a little something about the true state of our culture. I guarantee that someone was shot within those two weeks but the news doesn't report it because it doesn't support their bias.

The thing is, ALL we hear about in the media is when there is a mass shooting, or gun deaths during crimes.. We NEVER hear about the millions of times per year that people defend themselves or others using guns. These incident FAR outnumbers the former.

I don't know about mass shootings but if a bad guy with a gun enters my house he won't be walking out.

Most more we’re stopped by the good guy with the gun then the cops, most of the time the shooters kill them selves. Also most mass shooting are done with a pistol as well but you don’t hear them trying to get rid of pistol. The recent shooting in Atlanta was done with a 9 mm pistol
