Why do people who don't like dogs get criticized so much?

People love the animal they want, they don't like the animal they don't want. Just because someone doesn't like dogs doesn't mean they hurt them. But if you tell dog owners you don't like dogs, they'll tell you you're a bad person. They do not respect people with phobias. They think people who don't like dogs don't like babies, but they're wrong. I love babies. I like cats, birds and fish.

Culturally ingrained. In the same way killing a mocking bird has meaning. An endlessly trusting life being abused is sad. That has thousands of books using this as a metaphor of somekind since the beginning of writing.

I think the Bible has passages protesting dogs. Maybe it's a microcosm of sorts. I'm now talking out of my ass Here but it's interesting to think about. If each individual person was a god and dogs are a stand-in for the individual person. Also Dogs are just the default icon for this question, you can use anything in this metaphor but it just fit better accross time.

I was always told growing up that dogs have a special sense, where they can tell if a person is good or bad just by sniffing them. It was always, of a dog doesn't like someone, stay away from that person.

It was also extended into: if a person doesn't like dogs, it means they're hiding something.

I don't necessarily use this as a life motto or anything, but it was a big saying when I was younger, so I assume for some people it's implanted in their brain that anyone who doesn't like dogs is bad or untrustworthy.

Dogs tend to attack people they don't know. That's why I'm afraid of them.

I hate dogs. They're the most annoying animal our there. I regret that primitive humans found them and began using them for security purposes. While they're still good for security purposes, they lower the quality of a household. Not to mention that certain breeds are very aggressive.

Before someone says "not all dogs" are "annoying/aggressive". Yes, the smaller dogs are yappy and annoying, many of all breeds wants to lick your face, they poop everywhere outside, and certain breeds like Pitbulls are naturally more aggressive regardless of how much training you give it. It can always decide to say "Fuck the training." at any time and decide to maul someone's face just like anyone who is a Christian can say "Fuck the Bible." and decide to sin at any time.

The more hostile breeds should be genetically eliminated.

Dogs are not for everyone. I love animals in general, but there's some I don't care for. I hate lizards, but a lot of people like to have them as pets. So it's okay not to like dogs and your morality isn't tarnished by not liking them. Not everyone has a reason to be fond of them. I have no problem with people that don't like dogs.

I don't have an insightful answer for you, but I just wanted to say I hate dogs too. I hate their clinginess, neediness, lack of independence, but most of all the barking. Fuck dogs.
