That is to be expected. That said, the attribution of ideological motives in the face of medical facts is likely, largely misplaced - as is thus the sense of moral superiority implicit in this question.

The assumption has been that a large segment of the population is "against" the COVID vaccine. Perhaps the answer is simpler. It is as likely that it is not so much that people are against the vaccine as that they are indifferent to it.

First, make allowance for the fact that some segment of the population will be against the vaccine on principle. Some for religious reasons do not accept vaccines of any kind. This is true, for example, of Christian Scientists and some strands of Islam. There are also those who have pre-existing conditions and cannot get the shot on medical grounds.

Then there are those who object for political reasons. Indeed, it bears repeating that both President Biden and Vice-President Harris, when they were presidential candidates, said that they would be opposed to any vaccine developed under the auspices of the Trump administration. Changing their views only after they won election, at which point they went to the opposite extreme.

That extreme being that the Biden administration wildly overpromised. President Biden's speech declaring that anyone who got the vaccine would not have to wear a face-mask anymore - ever. That now, of course, being undermined by the new CDC guidelines.

In a nutshell, one of the ironies is that Mr. Biden's approval rating on handling the pandemic has been one of his bright spots - but it is unwarranted. In fact, from the outset, the Biden administration's communications strategy on the pandemic has been erratic and unprofessional.

This sewing distrust among political partisans and also, interestingly, in the African-American and Hispanic communities. The African-American community being particularly resistant perhaps due to the lingering historical memories of the medical experiments conducted on the Tuskegee airman.

This being made still worse by the failure of the FDA to cut through the bureaucracy and give its final approval to the vaccine. It cannot be a selling point that, in effect, the government is effectively using the public as giant lab rats.

To be sure, the COVID vaccine has pretty much proved itself, but the occasional stories of side-effects and the administration's inept comms strategy cannot, in context, have reassured those who are prone to doubts. In that sense, an FDA endorsement would not be a disadvantage.

Yet for all this - and there are other reasons - the most likely reason is that people do not see COVID as a threat to themselves and they want to get on with life. For a parallel example, how much of the population fails to avail itself of the flu vaccine every year.

The flu can make a person feel quite sick. Yet people are busy with the daily business of life and as the chances of getting sick seem slight and abstract, they don't make time for it.

All the chatter about a segment of the population being "against" the vaccine is, in that sense, an exaggeration. The likely truth is that most people are ignoring the government, the media and all the chatter. They are just tuning it out and moving on with their lives.

That is not likely an argument that you will hear made very often if for no other reason than the it is hard for the government and the media, the medical community and other such entities to imagine that the public is not hanging on their every word. If true, it would also mean that any outreach will have to breech a wall of intellectual, social and emotional indifference - and that is VERY hard, if not impossible, to do.

Yet Occam's Razor applies. Sometimes the simplest answer is he correct one. In this case, for all of their preaching and pleading, those pushing the vaccine may have yet to come to grips with the fact that a large segment of the population is simply shrugging and saying, in effect, "Yeah, whatever."

Cue people pretending Democratic politicians saying they would only take a vaccine if the experts said it was safe and not take Trump's word for it is not the totally rational approach. (As if those politicians influence Republican voters, anyway.)

Or that the tiny proportion of people with a valid objection to being vaccinated aren't a drop in the ocean of people misinformed by Republican leaders, Fox News, Newsmax and OAN, despite whole unvaccinated families dying of it.

Or that Trump having been vaccinated (having already had the virus, by the way) in secret and once recommending it, in March, is just the same as the Democratic push for vaccinations.

Not to mention their demand that Democrats and the CDC should have been able to see into the future and definitively state what the state of the pandemic would be today, when coronavirus is renowned for mutating and people refused to take the lifeline that the vaccines provide.

Or blaming the FDA for not giving final approval, which requires years, to a vaccine that is saving millions of lives right now. They know there's an emergency use authorisation because there's a once-in-a-century emergency going on right now, they're lying for political gain as people die.

Billions of people have had the vaccine with vanishingly low side-effects (far lower than the supposedly trivial chance of dying, let alone getting seriously ill from the virus itself.

The mRNA in a new technology and is not a vaccine. Once that is put into your system it will stay there forever and it is categorized and an emergency experimental treatment. The covid virus never dies so that it impossible to create a vaccine from a weakened or dead covid virus. The mRNA jab is called a vaccine to full everyone into believing is as conventional as a flu vaccine; it is not. It replaces your natural immune system and weakens it making you dependent on upgrades as they deploy new viruses.

It is becoming evident that the fake “vaccine” but mRNA rather is enhancing the virus regeneration rate and that now the vaxxers are becoming the true spreaders. Don’t rely on anything MSM based.

The statistic you repeated is 100% bullshit. The CDC (in early May 2021) ceased tracking individuals who received the shot and developed COVID or had serious problems because of the shot OR were hospitalized. It's on the CDC website. Therefore, there are no accurate numbers of actual people who had the shot AND had to be hospitalized due to the shot or getting COVID.

The closest information you can get is what England stated, that 60% of those hospitalized due to COVID were unvaxed. The reverse must be true also - that 40% of those hospitalized due to COVID ARE those that took the shots. Reminder - just because you took the shots does NOT prevent you from getting COVID!!!

The American media is fully lying to the public to protect/drive their Socialist agenda by purposely skewing figures to bolster support for the shot. They're also pushing a narrative requiring Vax Passports. That narrative further divides the country - something tyrants, communists, and socialists strive to do to accomplish their hold on power over the public.

This question is worded weirdly, are you saying that 90% of people hospitalized globally are Americans (which is not even remotely true) or are you saying 90% of people who are hospitalized aren't vaccinated (which is just common sense, if it was 50/50 that would mean the vaccine doesn't work)
