Is homosexuality a result of nature or nurture?

Gays can't reproduce so if it is indeed an inherited trait it would disappear in one generation. So I do not believe “gay” is biological. Keep in mind there are homosexual animals out there besides humans so one point for the nature crowd.

That's a really good point that it can't get passed down through genes. So if someone is "born that way" then where did it come from? I've always believed that this behavior comes from something in that person's life experience or something about their environment.

When I see a female i am naturally (to my very core) attracted to her whereas when I see a man I am not, perhaps there is some biological element out of our control to what we are attracted to i hate to go as far to say it is a defect but it really is especially if we are supposed to procreate

Nature. It manifests in a number of animal groups which implies it serves a purpose. Probably helps with lack of women , or social overcrowding in some situations.
Regardless, it's not a binary option, it'll be a scale which is why some men can manifest as gay in some situations but otherwise not be interested.

I believe it's more nurture than nature at this point. There may be neurological, hormonal, and personality factors that might make someone more easily disposed to homosexuality, but I do believe that culture, family, and formation play the biggest role.

A failure in the womb perhaps? Or perhaps that particular combination of genes unique as all individuals are unique failed to make a non barren human being. Nature is imperfect

Homosexuality is almost exclusively a product of an incredibly dysfunctional upbringing in whatever shape or form that comes in. With a distorted sense of self the individual then chooses to go an become a fudge packer/deep sea diver.

Either way it is an abnormality that I'm sick of seeing be normalised in today's world.

Its a result of both. First of all you have to have a decreased sensitivity to disgusting things like holes that have shit that come out of them. Secondly you have to be encouraged by people who hate the opposite sex because they hate themselves and their family, that want to prey on children because theyre easy targets, and yet they won't admit to any of it. Until theyve amassed so much influence that theyll be able to mock you for disagreeing or shaming them

Both? I don’t think it warrants a problem to be studied honestly. But there’s evidence of certain upbringing that “seems” to be similar in gay people.

BUT gay relationships exist in nature at about the same % as humans.

I should have been more clear when I said 'technologically advanced society' I was mostly talking about societies developed after agriculture was discovered. I'm not so sure homosexuality was a thing among hunter-gatherer tribes, from what I've heard. But again, who can really say for sure.
