In my youth, abortion was illegal. What you did: cross the border to the Netherlands and have it done THERE. What I REALLY mean: if 'you' don't like the conditions, it's possible to move to a 'better' place. That's what I did myself
I personally don't believe in abortion, therefore I would never have one or assist a woman in obtaining an abortion. That doesn't mean that others can't have them.
Can I just say thank you for understanding that your personal beliefs don't dictate what other people should be able to do. I was just scrolling, and not planning on responding to anything, but your comment honestly shocked me. So few people make that distinction. I appreciate it.
So if you kill the baby, will the victim actually feel better about their rape? I am for capital punishment of rapists. How many people are going to commit rape when it carries a death sentence?
Well, I can only speak for myself as a victim lf rape.
If I was forced to carry the fetus of a man who raped me, I would feel horrible. It would be a constant reminder for 9(!!!) months about what I went through, and I would feel sick to my stomach knowing that I’m doing something that’s spreading his genes, and that’s if I adopt away the baby.
If I don’t adopt away the baby, well, then I have too look at someone who are the direct result of that event for, well, at least 18 years. And have a constant reminder.
Even if you adopt away the baby, there is always the chance of the baby growing up, finding out they where adopted, and finding me and wanting contact, even if I take steps to make sure that won’t be possible, with more and more people taking dna test for stuff like ancestry, it would likely be hard (if not close to impossible) to cover all of my tracks so they can’t find me.
And if they find me, then there’s the damn reminder about it again, and me needing to explains why I don’t want contact with the person, and possible scarring them for life by telling them that they where not wanted, they where a product of a terrible event, a rape.
So yes. I would feel much much much better if I could abort the fetus, and get rid of the rapist dna from spreading, and causing me YEARS of pain and suffering, more than it would without a child involved.
@Kyecze I do have children that were unplanned so I do understand the stress it causes and especially the uncertainty but what I am wondering is if you’ve considered that an innocent human life could be the result of a horrific event. I have heard stories of victims of rape who have chosen to deliver their child and keep their child and none of them talk about their child like they are a constant reminder of being brutally raped. In your case, I absolutely understand that yours did not result in a pregnancy but can you really put yourself in someone else’s shoes who was raped and say that you would absolutely terminate your child’s life because everything that results from that child’s life will be better off will be a horrible reminder of the father brutally attacking you? Childbirth itself is a horrible traumatizing experience that can even kill the birth mother but the pain of childbirth is almost forgotten immediately once you see your child for the first time. In fact, some moms are even glib about the whole experience afterwards. I’m not excusing your rapist and I hope he dies a painful death but I would rather not make my child pay the price for someone else’s mistake.
I’m not American idgaf about republicans or liberals or whatever bullshit politics yous have going on. But anyone forcing someone through pregnancy under those circumstances deserves a bullet 😋
So you care so much about a law that will never affect you you think it's OK to kill people who literally are not affected by this law in the way you're thinking because they literally had the freedom to move out of Texas. Really you're just proving the point all the people upset about this law don't live in Texas and they're just crying
You sound mad dumb. Just because it doesn’t personally affect me doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to have an opinion on it. By that logic you don’t get to have any opinion on the things that happen outside of the US. I said what I said and I’ll say it again. Anyone forcing a rape victim to go through with pregnancy deserves to be shot. Cry about it.
Yes I really don't care what happens out of America you're free to live how you want for some reason you want to kill people living differently than you in America you're a very violent person.
A 55gr 223 remington into your skull is a figure of speech to silence the foreign garbage coming out of your mouth. Mind your business, our militia alone could Wipeout your entire country in one month and we're sick of you fucking with our lives
Foreigners and democrats aren't people, they're disgusting animals, just like the piece of shit racoons I killed yesterday, don't worry, I won't eat you or democrats just like I didn't eat the racoons, I'll leave you for the wolves to rip apart and eat.
Mind your own business or I'll feed you and your family to wolves. Got it? Good, go back to being a sex slave for the Islamic terrorists you love so much
Loool oh really? I’m so scared 🥺 however will I sleep to night knowing that Mr four eyed red neck wolf boy is going to feed my family to the wolves 🥺🥺🥺🥺😂😂😂
I don't need a plane ticket to get you, I'll walk there and kill you and your whole democrat family and feed your bodies to some stray dogs and nobody will even notice you're gone
No they don't. The problem is a lack of education. Take all that anger and go to the discussion forums and teach to think more logically. Do what I do.
Ending the life of an organism cannot harm that organism, if the organism cannot experience pain yet and doesn't understand death. That means most abortions cannot harm the aborted, which means this ridiculous law will only harm, and not help anyone. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists say that fetuses can't experience pain until at least 24 weeks into the pregnancy.
Even after that point, I would argue that any pain experienced from an abortion needs to be weighed against the unpleasantness of being born, as well as against any negative the parents were thinking of getting the abortion for... so even from the perspective of what's best for the fetus, abortion, if the parents don't want a child, will typically be the best path for the fetus, given that about 90% of abortions or so happen in the first trimester.
It also needs to be taken into consideration that many birth defects can't be detected until well after the first trimester... and I would argue that if a fetus has a serious birth defect, or is born to a 16 year old parent, and the parent gets an abortion and has another child later, that's essentially the same thing as the first child being teleported into an existed without the birth defect, or with a parent more ready to care for it.
Needless to say, that parent not having a child at all would not harm that would-be child anymore than having one, because those who don't exist yet gain nothing from being brought into existence, because before oneself exists there is no one to gain anything from existing... and so never having the child at all would be equally beneficial to the fetus with the birth defect or young parent.
That's the type of abstract ethical thinking society needs to do more, and never does.
bullets will solve nothing... and they don't deserve bullets either. They were brainwashed by culture, just as we all are to various degrees. We just got lucky. The solution is to take that anger and educate people. Head to the forums. Make logical arguments. I'd like every discussion forum to be filled with researched, intelligent, pro-choice statements.
@Rangers I'm a Democrat. Move somewhere else please and you'll make my country better. Also, note how I discouraged people from shooting other people. The Texas law sucks. We have to get rid of it. Not doing so is allowing the exact same thing that happened in Iran to start happening here. Iran used to be a civilized country too.
I'm so sorry for how I spoke to everyone here, I have severe anger issues as you can tell. It comes and goes, seeing a Deputy with a wife and kids being murdered in cold blood and hearing his screams as his lungs filled with blood only for people in the comments to celebrate and laugh was enough to set me off.
The whole "let them bleed out" kept me thinking about the stuff they said about the Deputy who was repaid for giving the guy every chance not to get shot after he screamed at him and pulled a rifle out of his car by being brutally murdered on the street and left with several shots through both of his lungs and his head as he struggled to take his final breathe with his 2 children and wife on his mind.
I still had absolutely no business whatsoever making threats towards people, especially people who had nothing to do with the things being said about the horrific incident. His screams haunt me deeply and to hear people laughing and celebrating this unspeakable demonic act caused me to explode and harass people. I apologize for threats and insults that I've been making😔
@Rangers I shouldn't have told you to leave the country. You responded to people threatening violence and you were the more mature one. We have better routes than violence. That's what voting and the rule of law is for.
That said, death cannot harm an organism that doesn't understand death and cannot experience pain and the vast majority of fetuses that are aborted will not experience pain. Therefore, this strict of abortion bans are totally pointless and without question harm the hypothetical children they're trying to protect more than they help them.
We need this law removed through ANY legal means. I would not even object to packing the courts with Democrat candidates. This is a civil rights issue. It's the most pointlessly destructive law I've ever seen. If you'd like to talk about why, I'd be glad to discuss this further. Logic is on the side of the pro-choice side of thing, so we need to use logic to solve this. We need to discuss this issue more with people, or these pointlessly destructive laws will just happen again.
@Rangers I regretted my comment too... and you were responding to someone who also made a (hopefully sarcastic) threat. I don't think you did anything particularly out of the ordinary... just so long as nobody was being literal. It was wrong of me to tell you to leave the country. I have lots of Republican friends and pro-life friends who improve the world they live in. I just think the pro-life side of things doesn't see reality accurately, and there is a tragic and pointless destructiveness that results from that, which needs to be solved through discussion. The way I see it, death just cannot harm an organism that doesn't understand death and can't experience pain... and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists say a fetus can't experience pain until at least 24 weeks. Even if they can, I look at things like any pain they experience has to be weight against the unpleasantness of being born, as well as any other negatives the parents were seeking avoiding through terminating the pregnancy.
Also... apologies are rare online. Every time I see one I think highly of the person who makes it.
I want to give an example. A doctor recently spoke about it. A woman had been told that the baby she was carrying was incompatible with life but because of abortion bans she could not abort it and was forced to give birth to a dead baby. Abortion bans need to be removed for people like her. This is why it makes me so angry when people defend the ban. There are many reasons why someone would want one, dangerous pregnancies, still borns etc.
That's a month and a half. A woman would probably just figure out their pregnant at 6 weeks. That's not even considering the appointment registration, waitlists, scheduling, and the appointment itself due to American health care. I'd say within 12 weeks a. k. a. the first trimester.
If you combine rape and incest pregnancies, they represent less than 2% of abortions over the last 10 years. This is a strawman argument, and even if these situations were exempt, they'd find other reasons to complain.
I think it might be constitutional. It's set up so that citizens can make the lawsuits rather than some government organization, which acts as a loophole. If that's the case... what we need to do is alter the constitution, I'd say, or complain until that happens... because this law is ridiculous. I don't care if they have to pack the Supreme Court with left-leaning judges or not. I see this as a civil-rights issue and this is totally intolerable... what Texas is doing now.
The new Texas law has a tattletale provision along with punishment for anyone who helps someone get an abortion. A driver, for example, helping a girl cross state lines to get an abortion can get prosecuted. Also, it can take 6 hours to drive out of Texas from some counties.
You can get punished for it. Especially if someone finds out. There’s a bounty of $10,000 for anyone who reports it. So you could actually get imprisoned for a miscarriage.
Um. No. Have you seen what Gregg abbot said? They asked about rape victims and all he said is that he’s eliminating rape 🤦♀️ lol. Rape victims don’t get more than 6 weeks to get an abortion is what the issue is.
After a rape monitoring for pregnancy is standard procedure for anyone concerned about an unwanted pregnancy. And the law allows for the ending of that pregnancy. Six weeks is plenty of time to determine it and legal abort.
If you are raped. Report it. So they can catch and punish the scumbag. Monitor for pregnancy. Abort if you are pregnant. The asker says you are forced to have the kid. Like there is zero consideration for a rape. That is not true. It’s up to you to monitor and then you can end the pregnancy. That that is what the law says. Once again some people want no accountability for what they do. If you are raped - 6 weeks is plenty of time to determine a pregnancy which can be detected even with a home kit after just 10 days. So test for several weeks after to be sure you are not pregnant. It’s a very important issue so pay attention to it. The law was reviewed and upheld by the Supreme Court. If you don’t like it, don’t live in Texas
You do realize that it takes 4-5 weeks after sex to get a positive pregnancy test right? Some tests will give you false negatives if you test too early. So 6 weeks is NOT enough time.
Pregnancy is NOT detected by 10 days after. That is the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. Just say you know NOTHING about reproductive health. No uterus; no opinion. Thanks 👏
Ez-Bri-Z, is correct. They don’t count the weeks on the same day that you had sex. They count it from your last period. So if you had your period on the 1st of the month. Then had sex on the 14th of the month, in the medical field; that’s considered 2 weeks already. By the time you’re able to get a pregnancy test, you’re already 4-5 weeks. Not to mention that you need to go for blood work BEFORE getting an abortion to make sure you’re healthy enough to get one. How long do you think blood work results take? At least 1-2 weeks. Then to find availability afterwards for the abortion. You’re an idiot.
Um. No you can’t. If you had the capability to read, I know it’s hard for men to read, I understand, but it says your body starts making HCG levels at 10 days after. But they’re NOT high enough to be detected in a pregnancy test. That’s why Pregnancy tests say to take it AFTER your missed period. 🤦♀️
I like how you included an article and didn’t bother reading that it states your body begins to make HCG levels 10 days after conception BUT is not detectable by a pregnancy test until AFTER a missed period. The levels aren’t high enough to be detected yet 😂
I did read it. But whatever I put up you are are going to aggressively argue and get insulting…so - whatever. The article says it’s possible to detect very early and cam be confirmed after a missed period. All well within 6 weeks. But I get it, you are just going to argue till the end of time and get insulting - so think whatever you want.
“A blood test for pregnancy might be done in special circumstances, such as for women who are having infertility treatments or when the healthcare provider thinks there might be a problem.
These blood tests are slightly more sensitive than urine tests because they can detect very small levels of hCG. That means they can provide a more accurate answer very early on in pregnancy — within nine to 12 days after conception. For this test, your blood sample is taken and sent to a lab for analysis. Results might take anywhere from a few hours to more than a day.”
Lol. And how long will it take to get an appointment for a blood test? My nearest clinic is booked out till November.
You don’t know anything. 😂😂 and you just continue to embarrass yourself. It’s not within 6 weeks. They start counting the weeks from your last period. So by the time you have sex or get assaulted, you could be anywhere from 2-3 weeks because of how they count pregnancy. Then you have to wait for a pregnancy test for around 14 days. You’re 4-5 weeks now. And then make an appt for blood work to make sure you’re healthy enough for an abortion. Results take about a week to get back. You’re now 5-6 weeks pregnant at this point.
Just stop embarrassing yourself. Lol. You’re trying so hard to be right and you’re just proving how ignorant you are. Lol.
@Ez-Bri-Z I laugh at you and your kind. I see you make the statement that you aren't leftist/marxiast/liberal while every member of gag knows that you are a leftist lesbian who is also a transvestite activist. Stop trying to gaslight people. Nobody respects you
@Ez-Bri-Z and yet no one has ever witnessed you do that. You always push your pro women, pro lesbian and pro transvestite agenda. Please excuse me if I think that you are full of shite
@Ez-Bri-Z Could you ever stop yourself from posting on another person's thread when they find you annoying. I don't think that you can. Let's see it you can stop yourself from responding to this last reply
@Ez-Bri-Z You accused me of stalking you but you are on my thread. I never go on your thread. Feel free to be your disrespectful marxist self and I will now delete all of your replies because of you disrespect

Either it's illegal for them to get abortions elsewhere, in which case they've essentially had something stolen from them for pointless reasons, or it's legal for them to drive elsewhere to get an abortion, in which case the law serves no purpose except to put the fetus in a later stage of pregnancy when the abortion is gotten.

it'd be better in every way to change it. Pointless laws should be changed. This is a pointless law.
I personally don't believe in abortion, therefore I would never have one or assist a woman in obtaining an abortion. That doesn't mean that others can't have them.

Abbott has been talking about exemptions lately and said there will be exemptions for such cases
there's a lot of people in the government who are clearly product of incest, that's why our counties can't run properly!!
Well, you yankees are just plain crazy. No offense..
They aren't. You have the first 6 weeks to get an abortion in Texas. If you are a victim of rape or incest, that is enough time to abort the fetus.

If you were raped, you would actively seek out if you were pregnant. You aren't just going to wait and see if you miss a couple periods.
It takes missing the first period before a pregnancy test will work. So yes, you must miss a period first.
What percentage of pregnancies arise from "incest victims"?
If you combine rape and incest pregnancies, they represent less than 2% of abortions over the last 10 years. This is a strawman argument, and even if these situations were exempt, they'd find other reasons to complain.
The next thing Texas will do is legalize rape and incest.
I'm on the fence here. It's a tricky issue. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for killing babies, I'm just not too sure about giving women the choice.
Rape and incest are illegal.
I am not wise enough to figure out abortion.
Aren't most babies in texas incest babies anyway
We're not the ones who legalized having sex with siblings, like NJ did

I don't care if they have to pack the Supreme Court with left-leaning judges or not. I see this as a civil-rights issue and this is totally intolerable... what Texas is doing now.
Chose A. This is why I don't live in red states.
Ugh A. My answer will always be A for all idc.
They are still allowed to have abortions
Not after 6 weeks
they can't leave the state to get an abortion?
The new Texas law has a tattletale provision along with punishment for anyone who helps someone get an abortion. A driver, for example, helping a girl cross state lines to get an abortion can get prosecuted. Also, it can take 6 hours to drive out of Texas from some counties.
You can get punished for it. Especially if someone finds out. There’s a bounty of $10,000 for anyone who reports it. So you could actually get imprisoned for a miscarriage.
Not to mention I live in southern texas. It takes 14 hours to get out of Texas.
@Angie221994 two words : MEXI COI
Four words: ITS ILLEGAL IN MEXICO
The asker is full of crap. Texas law does not force a rape victim to have the baby. Stop believing this propaganda
Um. No. Have you seen what Gregg abbot said? They asked about rape victims and all he said is that he’s eliminating rape 🤦♀️ lol. Rape victims don’t get more than 6 weeks to get an abortion is what the issue is.
I suggest that all of you liberals and leftists leave Texas for the greener pastures of California or NY.
I suggest that all you men don’t make laws that regulate women’s bodies. Thanks.
Thanks 👏
Like. Y’all do realize that for every 1,000 rapes that get reported, only 7 go to prison, right?
Uh…yes you can. Why don’t you go argue with the Cleveland Clinic then
my.clevelandclinic.org/.../9703-pregnancy-tests
Lol.
I pray the Texas becomes even more oppressive to the left and cause you all to leave forever.
@ez-bri-z agreed. The guys on here are so ignorant. And have no idea how reproductive health works. It’s astonishing.
Doubt that will ever happen since there’s already a campaign made by REPUBLICANS to vote Gregg abbot, the cripple, out of office 😂😂 nice try.
@Angie221994 conservatives hate women like you. How awful
@Ez-Bri-Z they hate you and will do what they need to do to rid their state of you and your friends.
USA is f***** and a joke to the world. Lol.
