It targets companies with at least 50 million users in the United States - such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Under the law, Texas residents can sue the companies to have their accounts reinstated 'Social media websites have become our modern-day public square,' Abbott said. He added: 'It is now law that conservative viewpoints in Texas cannot be banned on social media' with Conservatives long having lamented how social media sites stifle their voices.

This is absolutely a good and necessary law until such time as the Supreme Court can repeal social media's protections under section 230. They can be a platform, qualifying for the protections covered in 230, BUT unable to target and delete political comments of a conservative nature which they obviously disagree with, or they can be a private business, and be able to control what stays and what goes. They can't/ should not have both.
