I think it can definitely be a forming of grooming, BUT once you turn 18 you legally can make adult decisions. It can literally be the day you turn 18 you can enlist into the military , get your own debit/credit card, get married, etc. so while I do believe that dating a 16-17 year old is disturbing when you are an adult, I don’t think dating someone that is 18 is wrong by any means. When I was around 16-17 I had men grooming me for when I turned 18. I had a guy message me on a social media site saying “once you turn 18 , hit me up” I also had my friends dad that did not try to make sexual advances onto me until the month after I turned 18. I just think it’s odd because he was obviously looking at me sexually before I turned 18

This is a tricky subject matter because while in some areas the age of consent may be 16, but all it takes to completely fuck the person over is for the minor to go back on her word (which labels the person as a pedophile and sex offender) or for the parents to get involved (which does happen). That's why it's an all around stupid idea to even consider something like that. Realistically the laws should be changed to 18 so that it would put this argument to rest.

Unfortunately that won't stop those from grooming or not giving a damn. Sadly those that go for those underaged won't be stopped by the law.
