Just shows how ridiculous race is.

I just had a similar conversation with my white friend. He was saying he doesn't understand why there's a scale on blackness. So I was honest and I said I don't get it either but if someone is from a mixed heritage, for example your mums Chinese and your dad's black then your mixed race the same with having a white mum and a black dad you are mixed race.
If for example you are not accepted by one side or the other I can understand why a person would lean towards the accepting side.
But I'm the context of race it seems a shame to disregard one when that's the beauty of being mixed. It's the union that defied prejudice.
But since I'm black full black and people ask me if I'm mixed and don't accept that I'm not I'm constantly trying to find my place in the world and this argument gets boring.
Since it really doesn't matter.
This is often a problem that gets ignored in the black community.
For some reason in the US, you don't have to look 100% black to be black, but you have to look 100% white to be white.
In places like Africa you kinda see them divide it up into black, white and then colored people. But in some cases it will definitely bother me when they say people like zendaya or megan markle are "black" because they're not, they are MIXED
I just don't understand why it seems white people don't accept mixed people into their group, because black people do it all the time and it's messing up representation for the black community to the point where we have mixed light skin people like Doja cat, amber heard etc playing black people in TV shows.
I don't understand why they can't be view as "white" instead, because they are in fact half white it's just that all of them seem to only want to claim their black identity.

This is how it works in the USA.
100% White = White.
50% White & 50% Hispanic = mixed White & Hispanic.
50% White & 50% Asian = mixed White & Asian.
99% White & 1% Black = Black.
99% Asian & 1% Black = Black.
99% Hispanic & 1% Black = Black.
Just for clarification, 50% Hispanic is already 50% White (Spanish are White Europeans), so the example of 50White & 50% Hispanic actually results in 75% White and 25% one of the Native American Tribes (Including South American tribes).
My girlfriend is half-white, half-Puerto Rican, and I’d say it’s been her experience that she has never been perceived as white , even by members of her own family. She’s fairly light-skinned, but she looks decidedly Latina, and she’s always been treated as such.

One drop or even two doesn't make you a non white. we've all got a non white heritage, the point however is it's a distant heritage. You can't just say you identify as a white person if you're not that colour but it would be interesting to know where the tipping point is where you can.
Let's have a talk about this, because honestly I find this interesting.
Why is it that people like Amber Heard and Meghan Markle can identify as black even though they don't look black, but a mixed person who looks black (who is both black and white) can't identify as white even though they are white?
Why is it that you have to look white to be white, but you don't have to look black to be black.
You do have to look black to be black. Any white person claiming to be black just looks ridiculous. Just say what percentage black you are.
Not in the us, for some reason it's socially acceptable if people like zendaya claim to be black legally and socially but it's not okay if, mixed people with a darker skin tone claim to be white?
Why is it that white people don't accept mixed people into their race, but black people do,
I think this is a real question to ask.
A lot of the time here on gag I see white people and people of other races try and make Black people out to be this intolerant bunch of brutes.
But literally Black people are the only race of people out there who except people into the race that don’t look like them. In the US you can look like Zendaya amber heard or Meghan Markle and still be considered black.
But if you’re mixed with darker skin for some reason it seems like you can’t be considered white.
Why is it that white people and people of other races constantly have this need to maintain the image of their race? While black people are perfectly fine with having people who don’t look like them represent them
This is why I don't often identify myself as black nor Asian, I only do so when I'm talking about part of my heritage. It's even harder for me to identify as black than Asian and it causes a lot of problems. Just said mixed or Blasian is the easiest way for people to understand but when I'm predominately white countries or around white people, they always just assume I'm black since I'm not white-looking or "yellow-skinned" so I just say I'm black when I'm with them.
Yes that’s typical how skin color works and how our language describes the out side figure of someone’s skin. This is why it’s really stupid when they say Clarence Thomas is white or Thomas sowell is white
I'm pure white, but I identify as black for job interviews.
No, not at all.
@suisuiola
So is allowing men in women's sports. You need to get woke.
@suisuiola
Stupid racist.
LMBO 😂😂😂😂😂😂 gosh this was mad funny.
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy
OMFG
Let's be honest, it's the leftoids who call anyone with a nanoliter of black blood 'black'. I find the idea that mixed people are automatically called black/Asian retarded, but that's just the modern left for ya.
People, especially leftys, labeling anyone mixed 'black' is just a fact, not something you can really disagree with. And when it comes to 'they'll describe you as you describe yourself', that's not good. People who think they are dears and tigers shouldn't be referred to as dears and tigers.
It's a fact that people do that most of the time. Just look at most celebs that are mixed black/white and how the media refers to them. And the problem is the same, it's stupid. It's a glass half full/empty situation that just exposes people's beliefs.
I'm mixed race but I've had people call me black because I'm half black. I don't consider myself black but I consider myself a person of color
This is kind of like that "one drop of blood" thing racist southerners are so enamored of.
that too. I don't want to live in the same country with these people.
Racists.
Race is a social construct, kiddo. The Romans invented it to "differentiate" between people of conquered lands.
It's true. It's extremely rare you will have a black and white person have mix children and the child will look white.
The child will have a strong black phenotype and black hair texture as well and just look black instead of white.
Don't be claiming that you are white if you aren't. How low is your self esteem that you would do that?
You shouldn't get to claim anything because you don't represent any group well
My god daughter isn't excepted fully by either race it's sad.
So yes all or none
My comment might answer the question for you
It's called the "one drop rule" that suddenly reverses when it's interesting.
If what Tim Pool says is true, mixed race people are white if the leftists disagree with them and not if they agree. They aren't the ones deciding their race apparently.
I dunno apparently Barack Obama is black
I guess thats the standard.
Why would they?
