What risks are too high? And how are you going to make energy at night or on windless days let alone enough energy to match that of a nuclear power plant?
As long as dumb idenity politcs don't get involed like affermative action and femminst programs decing to hire unqualifed people based on dumb thnigs like race and gender
what you do whit the whasted element, extremly radioactive and need to suround them in a big quantity of plumb in order to stop the radioactivity. And ther is not enough pumb for that and very heavy and expensive. In general all nation throw them in wather. Search for a lake in Russia. USA trow them in Mariana Trench, China the same, Japan, Korea and all the pacific nation, because there the Eart is swalloing them. But not all the nation have that geographical posibility.
@Alexandrubaschet08 there are lots of things you can do with the spent fuel rods. make glass out of it and that contains it forever. or we will find another use for it. no big deal
At least one good reason to use renewable: Renewables, as opposed to fossil fuels, allow for a virtuous cycle instead of a vicious one by providing greater affordability and performance without the nasty side effects of fossil fuels, among which we can include air pollution, rising seas, soil contamination, and water/food contamination.

Apparently it’s the best option we have in many ways, but no doubt we need cleaner energy coming out soon
I’m not pro nuclear power, I would rather have that investment go to solar and wind energy. To me, the risks are too high

Absolutely. Our "green energy" investments should be researching ways to reduce and dispose of nuclear waste.
Or reuse and recycle it
We need nuclear energy badly, get rid of those stupid windmills and solar panels and let's get serious!
I'm not overly familiar with it but a few people whose scientific judgment I trust say it's a good thing, as long as we're careful about it.
Well educate yourself more on the topic a good place to start is the video i posted in my comment 😊

yes its the cleanest and safest energy and we should use it

the radiation is likewise not a problem
I live somewhat close to the oldest one in the United States. I feel safe. I like some of the new ideas of mini reactors.
I do not think it is and I am ashamed we ever relied on it. You also have not really proven why it should be used, you only railed against it's enemy

I work in it so I'm all for it. Lol
It's not my favourite option. We have the technology to build a nuclear reactor but we don't have the procedures to use it safely.
Yes.
But there isn't really a good plan to store spent nuclear material from power plant.
The spent fuel is still radioactive.
If not for the nuclear waste, an excellent energy source. Better sources would be solar, wind or hydrogen.
Definitely it’s the cleanest but the liberals killed that in the ‘70’s and forced us to use more coal. Now they’re bitching about that
Yes, it’s the only natural energy source that doesn’t waste more energy when it is used.
It produces less radiation to the atmosphere than coal actually,,,
Absolutely not. The danger it represent, excede its benefits.
it is the safest source of power that that we have...
It’s a good alternative to transition us from fossil fuels to solar and wind.
Yes, because it's a well-established, cheap and reliable source of energy. No, because of the waste issue.
The waste on its one can be turned into fuel.
