Im not really sure to be honest, I was going to say that there must be a set of attributes or skill sets which would make some more successful than others but perhaps the baseline requirements are low, as with for example driving a car. It could also be the case that exclusivity is a significant factor, i. e. the customers are naturally shared out between the suppliers because those with less customers are able to service those customers more effectively.

Ultimately though as with all things it is supply and demand, perhaps at this time there is insufficient supply to meet demand and that is why it appears that anyone can be successful, but this may not always be the case.

There could also be a relatively small window in which they are able to market their product - if youth is a significant factor for sales.

For the most part, this is true. Only caveat is the girl has to be attractive. Still, everyone has preferences so the range is wide. I'd say it works for 80% of girls.
