The police chief said it perfectly:
"His use of deadly force in this instance is a clear violation of department policy and directly contradicts multiple aspects of our use of force and training."
If the report is correct, the officer who fired the shots is being fired and will likely face a murder charge and a long drawn-out trial.
Please don't fall into the trap that media and some on social media want and blame all police for this. This this is not typical of police officers. Most police would not have fired their guns and would have worked to peacefully defuse the situation.

I'm torn on this one. Any fleeing, armed, suspect who is refusing orders is a threat to those around him. He was moving in to the store, toward a clerk who the officer needs to protect as well. So in that sense, the officer should shoot.
My problem is that the clerk seemed capable of moving faster than this man and should have been warned away by the officer as quickly as possible. She was also in the line of fire should one of his shots miss or be deflected by the chair.
There were certainly more options to make the scene safer, but just because he's in a wheelchair does not make him less of a threat to the officers or to the bystanders.
8 shots while the last one was precisely aimed to kill that guy. It was an execution.
If this cop doesn't go to jail for murder you can consider American justice system as completely joke.
The cop from behind didn't even look like he discharged his weapon. It's hard to tell what he might have had from behind. He could still shoot somebody Wheel Chair or not. The cop on the left would have been able to have a Better View of the situation. I think he fired all the rounds.

Nigga!,😲
Legally he's gonna walk away. BUT MAYBE NOT He did shoot him. in the back.
I read he had knife but shooting in back proves they are no threat.
Also a wheel chair can't charge at you. So he's gonna have a hard time proving life was in danger.
Bruh you can taze or wrestle a half of a person. That like saying you can't stop a child.I look at these cases as if a non officer did it, how would they be treated and that is how the officer should be.
Self defense, public safety can all be handled by private citizens carrying but if they go too far they become criminals. The exact same standard should be applied to officers.Really? A cop isn't capable of stopping a cripple without a gun these days?
Speaking from the perspective of a guy in a chair who carries a knife, don't underestimate a guy in a chair who carries a knife.
That being said, a cop with a gun who's BEHIND the guy in the chair has no reason to use deadly force. What, was he rolling away in a dangerous manner?
And nine shots? How is that not reckless endangerment? The cop gets fired, the cop is being investigated for possible murder charges. The cop is a fucking trigger-happy moron.
Unless there is unseen context, this is criminal. Not only did he shoot (why?), but he shot 9 times. From what can be seen in this video, not only is shooting at all unnecessary, but shooting 9 times even more so.
Ridiculous.Waiting for other people to comment trying to ridiculously justify this 🙄
This is a clear case of homicide, in your law it can be second degree murder. I hope the cop goes to life jail (without pants). However they are in America, it is unlikely to happen.
Didn't even see this on the news. Where's all the riots for the disabled guy?
Complete silenceI usually give the ecops the benefit of the doubt but it looks like there was no way this could be considered a good shoot. The cop should be fired an maybe prosecuted.
Cops who are blatantly caught abusing need much more serious consequences
He should be prosecuted for murder but he will not be since cops have immunity.
Watch the right-wingers and cop groupies on here generate excuses.
Then a jury of his own peers will likely vote to convict.
She could have kicked the chair. But technically justified, just a bit excessive.
Ammunition is a resource, conserve it, you never know if you gonna need it.he did have a knife, he did refuse to comply. and he was getting kinda close to a person who he could have grabbed
why were the cops called?I need more context. You said yourself he had a knife so was he threatening to kill people or something?
I never really saw a police lethal shooting before, and i hope i never do again. Unfortunately, i believe i will.
I don't know all the info yet. The cop's lawyer said that only 20% of the footage is available or something like that.
Well if he shot him in the legs, he wouldn't have felt it.
