There is an obvious bias when women have to carry the child in their body. But I’d say if abortion is available then the man should have a right to sign away all rights to fatherhood if she decides to keep it.

If a guy thinks her kids are his kids too then wait till he gets to divorce court and then finds out who's kid they really are. The Guardian of litem is going to side with you and give you your kids if he gets you pregnant. And also if the woman doesn't want the man to be a father she won't make him a father and get an abortion. If she wants him to be a father than she'll go ahead and have the kid and collect child support.
But I don't care about child support. I had my via surrogacy and my daughters living great because I have to care of two people get to focus on Improving my income.

Yes it's the father's child as well that's why in most cases the father should be allowed 50/50 custody and as its the mother's child also she should take responsibility for financially supporting her child by getting a job.

Usually the judge looks at what the expenses were before he divorce and that is what the guy pays. If there is anything left, that's what the guy gets to live on.

They look at the expenses and the higher breadwinner not specifically just the guy. If she makes more, guess what? He gets the alimony. Exceptions if there are kids then that goes to whoever gets majority custody

My state will require a husband who finds out that a child is not his, who divorces his cheating ex to pay support for a kid that isn't his. Technically he did not make that kid but is forced into it, because they were married at the time of birth.
@Dragonpurple In California, men have two years from the birth of the child to challenge paternity, that is, to obtain a DNA test proving they are not the father. After two years, it doesn't matter if they are or not - they are still required to pay child support.

@Dragonpurple Oh I thought you meant if you married a woman who already had kids with somebody else. That is kind of weird. But ultimately it is about supporting the child, the mum having cheated is kind of irrelevant, it's to support the child and it isn't the child's fault their mum cheated haha. Although whether the mum should be bringing up the kid in that situation is a different conversation, it isn't ideal for a child to have that kind of parent.

Was strictly referring to a wife cheating and he divorces her because she is a cheater but now he has to pay child support for a kid that isn't even his. That isn't fair to him, he didn't cheat and he didn't make the child.
The state can go find the father and make them pay.

Don’t be cheap ass. $800 per month means you can afford it because they factor into account how much money you make. They aren’t taking all of your money. Only a small percentage. Less than half.

What do you also mean 50/50 custody? Where i live both parents mentally and financially take care of their kids. So both parents financially take care of their kids. A man (/woman) who ain't going to take care of their kids but also dont wear condoms ( or dont use any contraceptives) on purpose should be jailed for child abuse.

Only about 14% of men win any kind of meaningful custody of their child in the entire U. S. mostly we get "every other weekend" like we are some kind of part time parent, or free babysitter.
It depends on the country too. I can understand the law maker in conservative or middleeastern/Asian countries when they mostly give custody to women because traditionally men dont feed/clean etc their kids and so there will be many men who would find excuses to not look after their kids

You can blame both men and women on this one. Men aren't always interested in full custody and the ones who are run into both male and female judges who are more inclined to think women are always the better caretakers. Blame gender roles in society for that one.

I completely disagree with alimony. However, I think the parent who doesn't have the child full-time should pay child support to contribute financially when it comes to raising their kid. This can be applied to any gender.
