United States to take Over 4 million in a year. No country can handle that amount of in 10 years without having housing market crash to add to the side of inflation, crime and I have seen where new diseases to be here and there are over 150 countries that have made it here. I have to have some options are available to them to be successful and everyone in the younger generation to be the one that will fix the way our president is selling it for voting rights to be doing that as to minions of minority groups to promise to do anything else and will believe what he says and now he has not going to either. We have closed borders somewhere? We are dealing with enough homelessness and "refuges" from south of the border. I don't recall any of the EU nations offering to take "their share". If we had a functioning immigration system and could take some of them in, that would be great. But we are currently over-run and can't support more than we are already dealing with.
@grega239 My reference to the EU nations taking "their share" was about not taking in South American refugees that are flooding the US southern border. There is always this call for the US to take in refugees from all over the world, and it just can't work. That's great that the EU nations are taking in the Ukraine refugees. That should help in the long term as they are hopefully able to return to their homes some day.
Tell you what - if you believe that we should take in Ukrainians, great. YOU just volunteered to host and provide for a family of Ukrainians. There's plenty of room in your house, right? Great. You've got two weeks to ready your home for a family of four. Glad you are doing the right thing and setting an example for others to follow.
We're going to observe how it works out for you, and if after a year, you still think it's a good idea, we'll move forward.

Wondering what sensical thought process a person has to go through to determine that a country should remain completely uninvolved in foreign affairs, but yet freely give up its resources and land to help clean up the giant shitty mess that gets created when we do stay uninvolved?
I feel for them, but we canāt even take care of our own. Homelessness, crime, substance abuses, rapid inflation. Almost everyone I know has multiple generations living under the same roof because no one can afford to buy their own place anymore.
Maybe Europe should handle this one.
I think the US and other countries have enough problems as it is. However, I'd definitely 100% support English-speaking, hard-working Ukrainian refugees over illegal Mexican immigrants who don't speak English and don't give a tiny baby sh*t about respecting the US. So I think having some hard working Ukrainians who respect the countries they'll be in (and rejecting the criminals and scumbags) is better than illegals.
Hell yeah, the United States will open its doors to those who stand against tyranny. Ukrainians are heros and are a bright symbol of what makes this country strong. It reminds all of us what we stand fore, what fought and died for throughout our history. We should consider ourselves blessed to this opportunity to stand in solidarity with the Ukraine.

We have already 1,5 million of them since Crimea conflict, in last few days came 630k new ones, mainly women and children because men 18-60 aren't allowed to leave Ukraine.

I think it's good that people are willing to take them in, I think Norway should as well. Although thankfully , Russia can't afford to wage a war like this for more then 10 days tops before they actually have to just give up or negotiate , hence probably the Nuclear threat. First of all, it won't last years. Second, the Ukrainian refugees would be best served by remaining in the region so that they can return and help rebuild their country- Germany and Poland would be the best destinations for them and they'd have an easier time integrating there.
