What do you think of the bill about carrying firearms without a permit in Georgia?

For those of you who doesn't know. Georgia Senate has passed a bill about not needing a permit/license to carry a firearm. It's 'constitutional carry.'

I honestly don't like it. We don't need this. If the bill carries out, hopefully I'll still be alive long enough to get the money I need to move to another country (I've always wanted to move to another country). If this carries out, I will no longer feel safe in my birth country.

5 of the top 10 safest states in the USA are what are called constitutional carry states. meaning you can carry any fire arm you are legally allowed to poses with out need for a permit. The logic is sound. Criminals are not looking to fight you to commit a crime. they want as easy a pay day as possible so they tend to congregate were thier victims are less likely to be armed. states like california new york Colorado... states with the tightest gun laws in our country but the highest gun crime rates. criminals do not obey gun buying or carrying rules so enforcing them on law abiding citizens that put you into undue danger by taking away your right to flex your 2A are silly and ignorant and concocted by the mind of the hysterical. This law does not make it easier to get a gun you still have to jump threw all the dumb ass hoops criminals byepass by getting thier stolen fire arm out of an ally.

I get where you're coming from. I'm just being paranoid because a couple of weeks ago in my city, someone got shot for just being annoying and I can feel how annoyed the perpetrator feels; I have an annoying ass little brother who just don't know when to stop. Why I'm paranoid is that I might be in the crossfire if my little brother gets shot for being annoying. Not only that, my little sister is always in the streets and she starts shit. You tell her something and she'll tell someone else and that's how stuff gets spreaded.

I'm fine with conceal carry permits though as I have one, so long as no fee is required to get them. Any FEE on a right (not a privilege) is a tax in my opinion and should not exist.

They even allow them in schools here for adults who can legally carry them and guess what? no mass shootings in schools, cause people who would consider have no idea who is carrying, which teachers or even janitors are. There over a decade of evidence here.

Darlin, I live in Georgia. I assure you--the bad people, especially in Atlanta where most of the crime is, are already carrying guns without a permit. Fulton County, Cobb, the bad parts of Gwinnett and Dekalb and all of Henry--the bad guys have their guns and they didn't get permits or do background checks. This bill changes nothing.

Half the US has constitutional carry at this point. My state passed it like 15 years ago and nothing changed. It doesn’t effect criminals who don’t care about gun laws it’s just less steps for regular people who may not be able to afford all the hoops to jump through to protect themselves.

Im from south Alabama and I live on the border of Georgia. There's mixed reactions about it around here. Some people are for it, but around my time and the neighboring towns everyone is for it 100%. But this was an open carry state anyway (meaning anyone that's not in law enforcement could freely carry a gun) and while at grocery stores even in schools people had their guns on them.

As a Georgian with a concealed carry permit this is a terrible idea. They are already way too easy to get. Pay for a background check and pay a small fee and it's yours. No firearm training required. This is just asking for more negligent discharges in public and more shootings when confrontations over carrying on private property occur.

This also feels as if felons are going not to be locked right back up for possessing a firearm. Though, the felons who has common sense would not risk it, even though my stepdad (who is a felon) risks uses my mom's gun; that can get both him and my mom in trouble. I don't see why he'd risk it.
Not only this, but we have very disrespectful middle schoolers. There'd be no doubt that they'd bring firearms to school and when a teacher gives them time out, they start shooting just because someone told them what to do.

The State I live in a person needs a Concealed Carry Permit. However, it is an open carry State.

I'm all for it, Its the same in my state. you only need a permit for concealed carry. The 2nd amendment guarantee these rights.. Funnily enough the places with the absolutely highest crime rates also have the strictest gun laws.. let that sink in..

It's dumb, and will cause problems for those that carry. Without a permit, you won't be able to take your gun to another state, many of which now accept the Georgia carry permit.

Who actually reads the law? You can listen to it as it's been spoken. I've known bad people would and will always carry guns, I just don't want to acknowledge it.
