+1 yI use to. I cared so much what people thought of me I gave myself anxiety. Finally I found a good therapist. She told me just like that. Tammy you not the queen of England no one cares. I needed to hear that. Now I don't care I know not everyone is going to like me and that's fine.

+1 yIt's nice when I get it, but I don't seek it out. What matters most is my own approval of myself. I've learned that not everyone is going to approve of me, my opinions, or my decisions, and that's fine.

+1 yLike? No actually. It doesn’t really do much for me
Seek? Definitely not. I do my own thing because of personal goals I want to achieve. So, it’s a deeply personal/internal goal of mine and approval of myself that I try to seek out more than anything.00 Reply

If you do, that's great and I appreciate it. If you don't, I will still party on. If you seek approval from others then you serve them, not you.
10 Reply4.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The only approval I need is from my girlfriend, I'm open to criticism of course and I'm not a narcissistic idiot who thinks they know everything. The second part seems to help a lot for not having conflict with people as I'm not shy to ask for help when I need it, nor am I shy to stand up for myself when someone is bothering me
00 Reply5.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I think everyone wants approval. We're social creatures and it's ingrained in us. I want approval I think as much as the next person. I just think at this point in my life I'm not going to contort myself into somebody I'm not to get it. I've got people who love and care about me. And that's really all I need.

+1 yI tend to seek compatibility more than approval so I like to do bold things that tend to divide audiences. It's almost guaranteed that not everyone will approve, but the ones that do usually end up becoming good friends.
08 Reply- +1 y
The way I see it is like dividing audiences into fans and haters. If we're bold and take huge risks like stripping off our clothes and running around naked (either literally or figuratively), we split them down the middle. Some people are going to hate us so much after, but the ones that don't become great friends.

I tend to love attention but I like to avoid trying to impress people so much as do my thing. If I relate it to art, I go with strange art that I think expresses myself the most even though I don't think most people will like it. But I'm trying to discover who likes me by sticking to my own style rather than the style that I think people will like the best.

I do love attention! To illustrate what I mean, my favorite shirt is pink and has little musical notes on it! :-D
![Do you like or seek approval from people?]()
And I know the shirt is going to get me lots of attention and not always the best kind. Some people might even think I'm gay (I'm not). But when people like the shirt, there's a good chance we might become friends! - +1 y
So I like the attention of that shirt but I'm not trying to seek approval for it from everyone. I'm trying to figure out who my true friends are, since I genuinely like the shirt and I think it expresses a part of me that loves music and dancing.

In a sense, I'm trying to get some people to even hate me so that I can figure out more easily who likes me as I actually am.
354 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. In many ways most people do. Fir example going out of the house with clothes on, is a modern culture unlike those tribal cultures of stone age.
Going to public places naked is not aprovd by the mainstream.
So in a way, I see everyone blending in the modern society because deep inside most people do care about their self image and aproval of at least someone.00 Reply2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No, I never have. I just didn't need to. I have always used my good judgement, my insight, didn't do drugs or drink alcohol, I had a good head on my shoulders and felt quite self-sufficient.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI used to but not as much. Some people are just bitter, jealous or stupid in life or just may plain not like you, how can you change that? You can't. Life is too short to deal with immature people. No, I don't care about seeking validation from others. People on GAG bash me on my political views even though they don't understand ideologies, history, religion, and key terms or concepts. Hence why there is so much corruption and pointless wars.
00 ReplyNo, I don't. I'm pretty much independent.
Tbh, most of the time, I don't give a shit what other people thinks. Other peoples' approvals mean nothing to me.00 Reply

00 Reply3.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Like for sure…. We are relational people. And, we seek approval so much that one will isolate just to avoid Disapproval.

+1 yNo. Who needs approval? Just be yourself. When you get approval for that you have found someone worth dealing with.
00 ReplyApproval is nice especially from people you hold in high regard. I don't usually go out of my way to seek it though.
