Whether it's unwanted or wanted, how often do people in general give you compliments, stare you down, try to follow you on sm, ask for your help, etc?

Quite a bit. I am a bartender and alcohol is called liquid courage for a reason. I get hit on almost nightly by guys that have had a few to drink. Once they have that liquid courage in them they don't hold back. It isn't unusual at all for us girls that work as bartenders. We all get hit on. I don't think much of it. Just guys with a bit too much to drink trying to be flirty. It is the nature of the job and you have to expect it to a degree.

Girl I like, and have liked for a long time. I didn't realize she had been telling me it, cause well, im a dumbass, lol. Anyway, I finally told her, online, which of course was the cowards way to do it, and, , of course she said "yeah, I like you too", and I was like "how come you never said anything" and she said "I'm sure i have been". Anyway, I went to her work the other day, had already let her know I was coming, so she knew. She's a bartender, like yourself. I told her I had two surprises for her. Both were SORT of both things for me, but, not TOTALLY, lol. While I hadn't planned on trying to kiss her for the first time, ever, she brought it up as a joke, she was like "you finally going to try and kiss me, is that one of your surprises". Before I gave her her actual surprise, I had decided to make up for saying it online so i said "hey, I shouldn't have done it that way", and she says "what, you don't like me now?" and i laughed and i said "no, no, I just shouldn't have done it online, it was the cowards way out, and I wanted to tell you how i feel about you in person". Yada yada, etc etc.. she smiled and then we kissed for the first time.

I had not been "drinking", however, she gave me a free shot, because well (i had already bought dinner, but, she's like "hey you wanna shot"), so i was like yeah sure. So, while I don't think it was the alcohol in me talking, i would have a LITTLE bit of it in me, before I said what I said

and she likes me* sorry, should have been in the beginning, typing faster than I was thinking. So, she likes me back, and she had for a long time, and i was too much of a dumbass to realize it, lol

Yeah having a drink or two in ya doesn't exactly mean the alcohol is doing the talking but does help to loosen up a bit. It is pretty typical as a bartender and I don't take offense to guys trying. Some of them are pretty inventive in their approaches.

A guy actually left me a rose with a note. It was really cute. The funny thing is he forgot to leave his digits on the note lol. He did come back another night presumably when he figured out what he had done. 😆

Yup lol. My guess is he was trying to stand out from all the other guys that constantly pester me for my number. I will say it was original approach and cute.

Rarely, if ever.
Usually when I do get compliments, they're work related: such as how hard I work, how organized or strategic I am, how good I am at helping out, etc...

But compliments on my looks or physical traits? LOL, the last time someone complimented me, it was on, "how good my posture is"

Out of the ones you have mentioned, I do get compliments from people from time to time and I just give a deaf ear to that.

For help yes sometimes I get asked for help too.

Simple because it is not required for people to compliment me and I have always disliked compliments. Of course I never expect them and I just give a deaf ear to that. No, I don't reply anything back (Unlike before) of course there is a reason for that also, I am not getting into that.

For help, again that is unwanted because I am not a superman or something. Yes I am confident in my own ways but then I am not a superman nor I am super skilled in any way to help people. I am not a person to look for people when there are other people who are much better and skilled in actually helping.

Hence in both cases it is unwanted.
